A mere matter of months since it released its first official recording, Demo I, Perverted Ceremony returns with its uniquely abominable variety of black metal, hereby presenting its debut full-length album, Sabbat of Behezaël, under the very same banner of Nuclear War Now! Productions. The album shall be released internationally on April 1st, on both vinyl LP and cassette tape formats. First discovered by NWN! through the time-honoured underground tradition of the band spreading self-produced cassettes to a limited number of contacts, Perverted Ceremony’s music reflects the same authenticity and dedication to their craft as their original manner of clandestine distribution. Although the band lists such revered acts as Demoncy, Mystifier, VON, Blasphemy, Profanatica, Archgoat, and Beherit, as their primary influences, their sound tends to gravitate somewhat more towards the latter two (along with Barathrum), who represent the Finnish tradition of bestial black metal. That said, Perverted Ceremony’s style is not easily compartmentalized according to their influences. On the contrary, with their distinctive approach to songwriting, production, and atmosphere, they have achieved a ritualistic blend of black metal that is unique unto itself. Additionally, Perverted Ceremony has proven with this album that the work recorded on its demo, which was already impressive in its own right, was only a snapshot in the band’s development, and one which has now been superseded. The first of several elements that bind both the demo and the album is the band’s preferred reliance on using the very same analogue 8-track recorder for both recordings. This deliberate choice has resulted in a very similarly full and organic, but not overly-refined, production value between the two. Another welcomed constant is the hideously buzzing guitar tone, which combines perfectly with the tremolo-picked riffing style, thus forming what has become one of the band’s trademark characteristics on both recordings. When coupled with the bass, often picking the same infernal note sequences a few octaves below it, the effect is a sound that burrows itself into the mind of the listener and is not easily extricated. On top of that mind-infesting buzz, deft flourishes of guitar leads emerge and rise above this hurtling maelstrom before fully dematerializing, proving to be a critical element that most bands of this type lack. he vocals on this album also inhabit and haunt the same accursed, sub-terrestrial registers as its preceding demo, lending it a most godforsaken aura. Of course, there are differences between the demo and Sabbat of Behezaël which afford the latter a degree of superiority. Gone are the sampled intros of Satanic sexual ritual that prefaced most songs on the demo. Though quite appropriate for that type of release, such an inclusion would have proven to be a distraction on a full-length album, and instead they are replaced with more minutes of the band’s own depraved ceremony. Also notable is the inclusion of a greater number and variety of riffs and tempo changes. Individual songs alternate within themselves from blisteringly fast tempos to black doom sequences reminiscent of Norway’s Faustcoven. The sum of these qualities, both formerly established and newly awakened, promise to make Sabbat of Behezaël one of the highlights, if not THE black metal beacon of darkness of 2017. Belgian modern melodic death metallers Hexa Mera have unleashed a lyric video for the song 'Inhuman', taken from their second full-length album, "Enlightenment", which will be released on March 31st. The song is streaming on Terrorizer via the link below. http://www.terrorizer.com/news/hexa-mera-release-lyric-video-for-inhuman/ The band has the following to say about 'Inhuman': "Inhuman stands for all the messed up things we've done. Ironically, humanity is the most inhuman thing there is. Every single day various channels remind us of a simple truth: violence is everywhere, and violence doesn't sleep. We wanted to write a song to condemn all of this. Writing the lyrics was easy, finding footage of our species’ disbehavior even more so. But selecting the scenes wasn’t. We watched hours of messed up footage. We had to take breaks because it became too much. We were totally overwhelmed. In the end we became immune to the gore, the sick and our own moral barriers. Management stepped in because we were taking it too far. The video didn’t need all the blood and explicit imagery to deliver the message, it had to be clear without going overboard. We didn’t create this one to enjoy, we created it to open your eyes and face humanity’s inhumanity. That’s what this track is about." The album was recorded at Empyrean Studio, mixed at OceanSide Studio by Ace Zec (Spoil Engine, Diablo Blvd,..) and mastered at Fascination Street Studios By Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Opeth, Soilwork,..). The artwork of Hexa Mera's follow-up to 2014’s “Human Entropy” was created by Colin Marks from Rain Song Design (Sylosis, Threat Signal, Scar Symmetry,..) The band has the following to say about "Enlightenment": "The idea to use the age of enlightenment as theme for this album was forged right after we released our debut album ‘Human Entropy’. The world was and still is spinning out of control: Extremists became a larger threat to our civilization, human and animal rights are being violated, political correctness is censoring the truth, media focusing on sales instead of news value, and so much more… the world never was an utopia place, but with the information we got, it seemed to become worse. We felt fear, disappointment, but most of all, we felt anger. Because we felt powerless, the only thing we could do was to speak out, and this is exactly what this album is about." The official ‘Enlightenment’ release-show will take place on April 1st at the renowned ‘Nijdrop’ venue in Opwijk, Belgium. More information can be found here. https://www.facebook.com/hexameraofficial/ Belgian Doom / Sludge cult Bathsheba premiere a new lyric video for "Ain Soph" at Metal Hammer Germany's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Servus, set for international release on February 24th via Svart Records. See/hear Bathsheba's "Ain Soph" in its entirety exclusively HERE. From the depths of the black charcoal mountains rises Bathsheba. Fronted by she-devil Michelle Nocon (ex-Serpentcult, Leviathan Speaks, Death Penalty), carried by the punishing drums of Jelle Stevens (ex- SardoniS), massive vibrations from Raf Meukens (Death Penalty, Torturerama), and relentless riffs from Dwight Goossens (ex- Disinterred), Bathsheba create atmospheric, schizophrenic doom that carries the heaviness of filthy, blackened sludge. A heavily down-tuned monster, it throws you into deep sadness and inner rage, straight into a grim cave - no meandering in an enchanted forest on the way to the deepest abyss. Bathsheba self-released a demo tape in October 2014 and shortly after signed to Svart Records, who released a 10" EP, The Sleepless Gods, in May 2015. Not long after, the band took to the stage at such festivals as Doom Over London, DesertFest, Incubate, Dutch Doom Days, and Doomed Gatherings. The Sleepless Gods made quite a stand, but it is obvious that Bathsheba have gained more identity with their debut album, Servus. Servus translates the heaviness of life, a way to cope with the concrete walls of fact and matter against which we are relentlessly beaten. Servus is about struggle, sadness, constant threat, and distortion of the mind. With this album, Bathsheba drags you into the horror of existence under the crushing weight of reality. Servus is about losing yourself in the maelstrom of burden and then finding yourself again, facing the true ugliness of existence. It destructs the mind and shakes the soul. This schizophrenia is translated musically in a genre that takes on sludgy doom in a filthy, blackened way: no compromises. A sinister whisper to a howling she-devil moan... Sometimes, the truth is too heavy to carry - gather around the witch and hail the oath of doom. And continue the hailing HERE, courtesy of Germany's esteemed Metal Hammer. The previously-revealed "I, At the End of Everything" can be heard HERE, as well as the previously-revealed video for "Demon 13" HERE.

Greek melodic Power metal masters Firewind, the group led by guitar-wizard and Ozzy Osbourne band member Gus G., are proud to announce the release of their upcoming 8th studio album, 'Immortals', which will be released on January 20th, 2017 via the band’s long-time label partner Century Media Records in Europe.
Gus G. checked in to comment about 'Immortals' and its artwork (which can be seen above!) as follows: “Today we're very happy to reveal the cover artwork for our 8th studio album. It's titled "Immortals" and it's the first concept album Firewind has ever made. Since we're from Greece, we thought it would be a cool idea to make a concept of Greek history and heritage. So, on this album we focused on the legendary battles of Thermopylae and Salamis during the 2nd Persian invasion of Greece in 480 BC. The artwork was once again created by our long-time collaborator, Gustavo Sazes and we feel it reflects the vibe we tried to capture on this album - Epic, Powerful, Glorious, Everlasting.”
'Immortals' marks the first time Firewind used an outside co-producer, working with Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Pink Cream 69), who not only engineered, mixed and mastered the album, but also co-wrote it together with Gus G.
Next to the standard jewel case CD and Digital Download formats, “Immortals” will also be released as LP on 180gr vinyl with a poster as well as the entire album on CD as bonus. Additionally, there will also be a limited edition Media-book CD with expanded booklet, a bonus track and 3 stickers. Look out for more details and pre-order details soon…
A first album’s online single is set to debut on November 25th, but in the meantime you can already check out a few sample riffs in a play-through clip that Gus G. recorded in co-operation with Toontrack’s EZmix 2 and the Metal Guitar Gods 4 EZmix Pack expansion here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E7SFBKYVcU
Gus G. and Toontrack have also launched a regular "Metal Month Masterclass" series of video lessons, of which the first two episodes can be seen here:
