Ukrainian Barbaric Black Metal horde Balfor have joined the ranks of cult French record label Drakkar Productions. New album to be released in early 2017! Balfor states: “After a long wait we can finally present the new label. Balfor signs a worldwide deal with French Drakkar Productions. We're happy to be part of this legendary team and look forward to a fruitful cooperation. New album will be released in early 2017. More news to follow..." Balfor is a Ukrainian Black Metal band from Kyiv featuring Khors, Raventale and ex-Hate Forest members. The band plays a style that can be to define as Barbaric Black Metal, a name that only partly explains the kind of dark, dramatic music they play. Music that is an epic, melodic and a blastingly fast mixture of Black and Death Metal. Band's frontman, continuously since its founding, is Anton Thorgeir Prymak - lead vocals, guitars and as well as main composer. The first album “Volki Severa” was released by German label E.O.L.P. Production and received many good reviews. Meantime, band completed their first Ukrainian tour. Next release “Pure Barbaric” in a move calculated to bring Balfor to the attention of a much larger audience was released for free download via a net-label. It was a move that was extremely successful in terms of increasing interest to the band. Using the resources and capabilities of social media Balfor manages to attract new listeners worldwide. Writing a new album “Barbaric Blood” Balfor signed a contract and publishes it on Pulverised Records. European tour in support of the album was very successful. The band played shows in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland. Balfor also take a part on such well-known European metal festivals like: Eindhoven Metal Meeting (NL), Rockmaraton (HU), Dong Open Air (DE), Global East (UA), Metal Heads Mission (UA), Kilkim Zaibu (LT), Gothoom (SK), Carpathian Alliance (UA), Metal Crowd (BEL), etc. After that “Barbaric Blood” was released by CD-Maximum Records for CIS and Baltic countries under the license of Pulverised Records. Second European tour Balfor shared in the company of black metal bands Emptiness and Christ Agony. Without dwelling on the achievements Balfor returned to Kiev and recorded the EP “Haralds Of The Fall”. And new album “Black Serpent Rising” was recorded shortly in 2015 and is awaiting release. Album interprets dark, barbaric past of humanity and ancient cults. Having huge experience of live shows, impressive list of club shows and festivals. Band used widely social media platforms and has fan-base all around the world. Balfor is a worthy representative of Ukrainian and East European metal scene. www.balfor.info www.facebook.com/balforofficial https://balfor.bandcamp.com

Indian metal veterans Demonic Resurrection have announced the release of their fifth full length studio album and launched a pledge music campaign in support of the release. The band have announced no details for the record except a tentative release date in Feb 2017. Demonstealer commented:- "More than money being a motivation, for us the pledge campaign was launched to share this experience with our fans before anyone else. I believe the fan-artist relationship is closer than ever and platforms like pledge music bypass the social media giants like Facebook and Twitter and let you interact with fans 1 on 1. So for us this campaign is about sharing the album name, tracklist, artwork, songs etc with the fans before anyone else. So we're really excited to embark on this journey. At this point we don't have any release details for how the album is released after the campaign but we are in talks with some labels, so fingers crossed." The new material will be released through Godz ov War Productions in November 2016 and follows the dark experimental path which was paved by the recently spawned EP, 'Qualia'. Get a taste of Gates No Longer Shut by listening to a brand new track via Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/godzovwar/misanthropic-rage-into-the-crypt The band comments: "Gates No Longer Shut" contains 7 diverse tracks, based on Black Metal we took it much further, exploring the sound created by every day inspirations. It is also literally the Gates that we opened before us, the Gates that drive us away from all boundaries, opening to our own world, both musically and philosophically. It is our entrance through which we gladly step tall and proud." Misanthropic Rage online: Floridian death/black metal band Bhavachakra are streaming their highly ambitious self-titled debut. The quartet will release their eponymous album via the label on Sept. 23rd later this year. Pre-orders for the album are available here. The album, accompanied by an exclusive interview with founder Kenneth Michael Reda, is streaming now at Noisey. The word "Bhavachakra" itself coming from eastern theology; the name is given to the depiction of a large demon holding a wheel, which represents each of the different realms of rebirth one may find themselves in, depending on their karma in the cycle of life. It is these very concepts and lyrical themes the band employs on their crushing debut full-length. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated new mini-album, Rotten. Dead. Forgotten, set for international release on October 13th via W.T.C. Productions. "Night of the Witch" can be heard HERE. It's been two years since the release of Tortorum's critically acclaimed second album, Katabasis, and in that time, ubiquitous drummer Dirge Rep has amicably departed the Norse black metal vanguard's ranks. Bloodied but unbowed, the trio saw fit to record an all-new mini-album, bearing the ominous title Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. This title is prescient, and wholly descriptive of the six-track record's contents. Moving at a slower, more methodical pace, Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. stomps forward with a hideous energy that literally feels DEAD. Like a reanimated corpse or malignant spectre, the Tortorum of Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. has turned a new and no-less-harrowing page here, largely leaving behind the orthodox speed of their massive first two albums and striking upon largely unexplored terrain where space and shade are blackened to a crisp and are patiently pushed forward with a palatable sense of maturity. Then again, the fire of old does occasionally ignite across the mini-album's six, comparably more stretched-out tracks, suggesting that the future is wide open for this equally surprising/dependable band. And like always, Tortorum are no strangers to the stage, and will soon be defiling them across Europe with a sound that's truly Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. Witness the first stench exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine. Iron Bonehead Productions have set November 25th as the international release date for Bölzer's massively anticipated debut album, Hero. Hailing from Switzerland, Bölzer are one of the most unique entities the metal underground has birthed in years. For one, Bölzer are proudly and resolutely a duo, using the barest essentials of voice, guitar, and drums and yet creating one of the densest, most world-eating sounds around. For another, the duo have wisely and patiently parcelled out their recordings, with a lone nine songs to date across three records - 2012's Roman Acupuncture demo, 2013's Iron Bonehead-released Aura EP, and 2014's Soma EP - judiciously chronicling the band's evolution into one of the most critically acclaimed metal bands in recent memory. And yet, "critical acclaim" has never been a part of Bölzer's agenda: their commitment is to their art alone, but it just so happens that word-of-mouth built organically (and feverishly), especially on the strength of their devastating, soul-draining live performances, where they can recreate every aspect of their records in the flesh. And at long last, flesh is given to a full-length album, and it bears the characteristically idiosyncratic title Hero. Here, in many ways, Bölzer break from their past. Rich 'n' resonant clean vocals often take centre stage, lending an alternately mournful/majestic quality to the duo's earth-juddering bulldoze. Likewise, the production across Hero is categorically cleaner than their grime-coated EPs, which dynamically enhances the spiralling melodicism that explodes into being here. Suitably, the songwriting itself takes on dazzling new contours, wending 'n' winding with even more fluidity - and certainly more daring - than the band's epic-yet-effortless EPs. And yet, for however seemingly radical these developments are - ultimately, they shouldn't be that "radical" in the hands of capable and sincere artisans - it all sounds like Bölzer, both what they were, what they can be, and most especially, what they currently are. Every aesthetic suggestion, every subtle nuance, every thing left unsaid in the past: here on Hero, it's all harnessed into a molten maelstrom that's ever more unique (and alien) because it's unshackled itself from expectation. It is, in a word, heroic. But what is the meaning of Hero? Discover for yourself, plunge into that maelstrom, and let Bölzer be your guide. The first path to enlightenment can be heard HERE, at Iron Bonehead's Soundcloud, with the track "I am III." Russian Atmospheric / Depressive Black Metal band Taiga are offering fans a FREE download of their track 'Небо ещё не погибло' (The Sky Has Not Died) off their upcoming album 'Sky' set for release on September 16th via Satanath Records sub label Symbol of Domination. The album tells the story about those moments in life when people are aware of their own insignificance and can not overcome the emotional pain. Everyday is torture for them as loneliness is the guard of their cage and they feel there is no escape. In hope of change, they turn their eyes to the sky. Burn Out The Remains trilogy is the final chapter about the Great Pandemics that struck the humankind. This time the story begins a few centuries before the famous Black Death plague. The song Panoukla DXLII (Pestilence 542) tells the story about the first documented plague pandemic that took place during the reign of Byzantine emperor Justinian I and therefore was called the Justinian Plague. The song Crom Conaill (Irish name of the illness) tells the story of this disease spreading further through the civilized realms of the time and the suffering this infection was causing to the human world for two centuries. Justinian Plague by different accounts had a death toll of 100 millionn people in the East. 40% of Constantinople died from the disease. In Europe the estimated number of victims is 25 million people. Fast forward many centuries into the future – the year is 1918. The world hasn't yet recovered from the consequences of the bloodiest and cruellest war of the time – The Great War. What followed it was no less horrific. The Spanish Influenza (1918 Flu pandemic) became the most massive flu pandemic in human history, both in the number of infected and dead. About 29.5% of the world's population (550 million. People) was infected in 18 months of 1918-1919. By different accounts the death toll of the Spanish flu exceeded the death toll of the Great War and became one of the largest natural disasters in human history... This record features the most honest, fragile and self-reflective lyrics that the band has written thus far in its 8+ year long career. Oathbreaker have premiered another new song off of the album - listen to “Immortals” now on Stereogum. Oathbreaker formed in 2008 and released their debut full-length Maelstrom in 2011, which was followed by the critically-acclaimed Eros Anteros full-length in 2013. On Rheia, which was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Loma Prieta), Oathbreaker have truly hit their stride and carve a new path for their blackened/post-metal sound. Rheia is a deeply personal album that showcases the artistic strength that vulnerability brings. See Oathbreaker on tour in North America from September 28th through October 30th with Skeletonwitch and Iron Reagan. More news coming soon.
