As one millennium died and another hateful, enraged age emerged from its rapidly decaying corpse, one band set about reshaping the outer limits of extreme metal. An unholy cyborg, a welding of circuitry and flesh, of tooth, claw and titanic hi-tech firepower, The Berzerker’s violence beyond reason left gaping wounds in a music scene that thought it understood where its boundaries lay. Safe spaces were set ablaze and the arbiters of genre definition put to the sword as the brute force of albums like 'Dissimulate' and 'Animosity' ran riot. Then, after four albums with Earache Records, The Berzerker independently released their definitive fifth album; a sanity shredding scream of industrial death metal, hyper speed programming and total sonic hostility, a final defiant, self-immolating explosion of fury – 'The Reawakening'. Despite being hailed as a resounding triumph, The Reawakening blazed fiercely but briefly. Increasingly frustrated and disillusioned with the music industry, The Berzerker’s creator, Luke Kenny, pulled the album from sale and streaming shortly after its release. Over the years that followed The Reawakening took on near-mythic status amongst fans – the ultimate expression of The Berzerker’s uncompromising passion becoming a cult obsession surviving in the collective consciousness of the underground through word of mouth, file sharing and hard-won copies passed between diehard devotees. But The Reawakening always deserved more than a shadow existence as a fabled ‘lost album’, a mysterious foot note in the annals of The Berzerker’s legend…and now the time has finally come for it to claim its rightful, unassailable place in the pantheon of extreme music. The Reawakening has found its natural home with Apocalyptic Witchcraft, a label with an unimpeachable reputation for supporting the most creative and unique works of black, death and experimental metal; a label led by Conor Droney, a man with a deep connection to the music of The Berzerker… “Discovering The Berzerker on a compilation at 15 was a life-changing moment that set me on the path I’m on today. It is only right that The Berzerker would end up working with Apocalyptic Witchcraft. The kings of extreme metal have returned.” For those who have kept the name of The Reawakening alive throughout the years this reissue is a validation of their support. For those about to discover the album’s obliterating, unhinged chaos for the first time, an experience like no other awaits. Eighteen years on from its infernal birth The Reawakening remains a formidable creation. Abrasive, mechanistic, yet imbued with a burning, violent soul, from the precision riffing and pitiless programming of opener ‘Wisdom And Corruption’ to the rampaging off the rails, machine madness of ‘An Unforgettable Force’, The Reawakening is a whirlwind of razor blades. Be it the lurching mayhem of ‘Disassembly Line’ or the imperious aura of ‘Evolution Of Aggression’, radiating a supreme confidence in its ability to destroy utterly, every song is incendiary and dangerous. The years in the darkness have done nothing to dull the impact of this industrial savagery. It is time to welcome back a true apex predator. The Reawakening will be released on limited edition splatter vinyl, digipak CD and cassette on October 30th, ahead of the band’s performance at Damnation Festival in Leeds, alongside the likes of Carcass, Crowbar and Satyricon. The album will also reassume its rightful place on all digital platforms on July 17th.

Following the release of their debut single “Anqa | عنقاء”, Bahraini death metal project Zvindiyar continue the build-up to their forthcoming debut full-length album with the release of a new single, “Fell”, while also revealing further details of the record. "Fell sits at the centre of the story; not a beginning or an end, but a breaking point. It embodies collapse: a force that doesn’t arrive, it unfolds. A figure of ruin, where form gives way and something darker takes hold." - says the band
Zvindiyar blends dark, cinematic atmosphere with ambient death metal, rooted in Persian and Arabic mythological themes. Built around a strong visual identity and concept, the project aims for both sonic and aesthetic impact beyond typical releases. Members bring extensive live and recording experience, including major international stage performances. https://www.instagram.com/zvindiyar/ https://www.youtube.com/@zvindiyar https://www.tiktok.com/@zvindiyar Peruvian Death Metallers Hell Trepanner announce debut album "The Consecration Of Eternal Impurity"11/2/2026 Hell Trepanner’s debut full-length "The Consecration Of Eternal Impurity" will be released on March 20, 2026 by Awakening Records. The album comes out on CD and digital formats. The first single, "Blaspheming in Primordial Tongues," is out now: https://youtu.be/IEJOPlnXN-8 Hell Trepanner come from the southern districts of Lima, Peru, and has been active since 2015. From the beginning, the band has stayed focused on old school death metal without compromise - no stylistic updates, no trend-hopping, no unnecessary polish. Just raw, hostile music built on heaviness, darkness, and blasphemy. The band operates as a trio, and that stripped-down formation shows in the sound. The riffs are thick and ugly, the drums push forward without restraint, and the vocals stay deep and confrontational. Whammy bar abuse, blast-heavy sections, and slower crushing parts are used where they make sense, not as decoration. The record feels aggressive by nature rather than by design. Lyrically and atmospherically, The Consecration of Eternal Impurity revolves around desecration, spiritual decay, death, and inverted ritual. There’s no narrative hand-holding here - the album leans into oppressive moods and ritualistic imagery, treating death metal as something closer to a ceremony than a performance. The album was recorded at Dragon Verde Studios and mixed and mastered at Sounds of Perseverance Studios, keeping the sound dense and forceful rather than clean. The cover artwork, painted in oil on canvas by Artem Astaroth, fits the album’s tone without drifting into fantasy clichés. Members of Hell Trepanner have been involved in several key projects within the Peruvian underground, including Necrofagore, Evil Priest, Disinter, Ensseminis, Nefasto, Evil Spectrum, and Rito Profanatorio. The band is also known locally for intense live shows that favor pressure and volume over theatrics. The Consecration of Eternal Impurity doesn’t attempt to redefine death metal. It exists to reinforce what the genre already does best - heaviness, darkness, and confrontation - delivered with conviction and no interest in modern polish. After years of ritualistic live performances, March 2026 will mark the final live chapter of the band's debut album "The Serpent’s Cult". This closing phase will serve as the ceremonial end of an era that shaped the band’s identity through darkness, devotion, and uncompromising Death Metal. At the same time, Dalighet has confirmed that their second full-length album is scheduled for release in Winter 2026. The upcoming material represents a new chapter — more aggressive, more mature, and conceptually focused — pushing the band beyond the foundations laid by their previous work. The cult does not disappear. It evolves. More details will be revealed in due time. https://www.facebook.com/Dalighetmxband French Death Metallers Warside announce debut album via Gruesome Records; first single out now29/1/2026 French death metal band WarsideE, drawing influence from acts such as Dying Fetus, Vomitory, and Misery Index, will release their debut full-length album "Cognitive Extinction" on May 8th, 2026 via Gruesome Records. The album introduces a renewed lineup on vocals and drums, bringing increased intensity, precision, and cohesion to the band’s sound. With Cognitive Extinction, Warside sharpen their identity, leaning into a rawer and more aggressive approach built around direct, effective tracks. "For the album, it's the idea of the new line up (there are only two of us left from the original EP, The Enemy Inside) that pushed us to have a rawer, more direct sound. The first single has quite personal lyrics about the damage that screens and digital technology are doing to our children's brains and intelligence, and the decline of culture. That's the main theme of the album." - says the band The first single, “Synthetic Abyss,” is out today and available on all digital stores worldwide: https://artists.landr.com/warside-France Official Music Video: https://youtu.be/iFQr8yw8Kpw Album credits: Recorded by: Warside & Kevin Paradis Mixed / Mastered by: Thibault Bernard – Convulsound Studio Artwork by: Jesus Lhysta (Rotted Artist) Formed in 2018, Warside is a French death metal band with a raw, direct, and uncompromising sound. The band first made a name for itself on the underground scene with the release of its debut EP, The Enemy Inside, in 2020. Thanks to numerous live performances in clubs and metal festivals across France and Europe, Warside built a solid reputation on stage. In 2023, the band embarked on its first European tour alongside Vader and Vomitory as part of the “40 Years of the Apocalypse” tour. This tour was followed in 2024 by a second European tour with Vader, covering 15 countries. https://warside1.com/ https://www.facebook.com/GruesomeRecordsPT Finnish Death metal band Hautajaisyö are set to release their fifth album 'Surun Paino' on March 20th 2026 via Inverse Records. The first single 'Maan Nielemä' is out now, accompanied by a music video available here: https://youtu.b/L4ygntH5stk The first single from the new Hautajaisyö album, Surun Paino (Weight Of Sorrow), comes with brutality. 'Maan Nielemä' (Swallowed by Dirt) showcases the band at their best. It features heavy riffs, violent drums and low-growl vocals. The song is inspired by the year 536, the "Year of Darkness", when the world was shrouded in darkness and nearly all of humanity perished. Amidst the chaos, a lone gravedigger toils endlessly. The song has a DIY music video which was filmed in one take at the band's practice venue. This fits well, as the album was recorded by the band themselves using their own equipment. "'Maan Nielemä' is one of my favourite songs from the new album. It hits like a hammer on hot metal, and you can feel the darkness of the song. Making the video was damn fun. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to do, and we tried to keep the costs down. Then we just 'hit our heads against the wall' until we had the finished video." says vocalist Janne Partanen

The story can be seen as the complete failure of a beautiful future utopia. A human being works throughout their life only to be drained dry and thrown into a pit once they are no longer considered productive enough by the ruling elite. In the end, does a civilized society differ at all from livestock farming? Musically, the track combines black and death metal in Saasta’s characteristic way, with death metal’s brute force ensuring that the black metal message reaches the listener’s deepest core. The single’s cover art and the music video were created with a raw DIY spirit by Saasta.

Finnish Blackened Death metal band Karelian Warcry have worked with their third album for years and finally it sees the light of day this spring. The first bite from the album, a single "Mielen Rutto" (The plague of mind) is now out. Listen to the single on music services (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, Bandcamp etc.) https://push.fm/fl/karelianwarcry-mielenrutto Karelian Warcry was founded in Kouvola, Finland, in 2002. In its early stages, KW’s music leaned more distinctly towards Black Metal. Nowadays it’s influenced by other subgenres of metal as well as other types of music. The lyrics explore themes related to war, violence and the darker sides of humanity. Each member brings their own musical roots, personal ambitions, and thematic passions into the mix, resulting in unique and recognizable sound. Wistful and haunting melodies, crushing grooves, and relentlessly driving rhythms blend with violent storytelling and poetic expression, hallmarks of Karelian Warcry’s musical identity. In 2014, the band went on hiatus following the passing of vocalist-guitarist Matti Mikkonen. Although the members have scattered from their hometown of Kouvola, they have continued creating music together—both remotely and in their rehearsal chamber. One could say Karelian Warcry never ceased to exist. And now, a bit over a decade later, they have finally completed the upcoming album, "Veripellot" — their most crushing and cohesive work to date. https://linktr.ee/Karelian_Warcry Line-up:
