Ireland's Svet Kant unleash their official "Sea Of Planets" music video

4/5/2019

Dublin's experimental metal combo Svet Kant are thrilled to present their new official video for the track "Sea of Planets".

"Sea of Planets" is a track taken from "The Visage Unbiased", due for release on 31/05/2019. The album can be already pre-ordered.

Check it out here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pI8ut1hah9g

The song, as well as the rest of the album, was composed by Santiago Kodela. Santiago Kodela holds a bachelors degree in music performance specialized in Classical guitar and decided it would be a good opportunity to present a different aspect of the band to the audience. For this piece, Santiago contacted Rebecca Rodgers, a good friend of him and colleague at the Institution where he studied classical music and composition (Royal Irish Academy of Music). The piece was inspired by Opeth's "Coil". Even though the aforementioned track doesn't combine male and female vocals singing together in harmonies, for "Sea of Planets", Santiago wanted to experiment with the idea of intertwining melodies carried by both singers. These melodies work independently, sometimes fusing together, and sometimes working in opposition.

The song speaks about how will we depart onto the next world. Will we leave being a legacy of bitterness and sourness? or will we let go of all our resentment and material possessions and do what's right both for us and for the world we leave behind? It is a song that talks about facing the inevitability of death in the best way possible, bringing only positive thoughts and memories while leaving behind everything that troubles our minds.

The track wraps-up the record and aims to close the crazy, experimental journey in a meditative and reflective state of mind.  Almost like a much-sought rest after going back and forth onto the realms of chaos and unpredictability.

The song was supervised and coached by Judith Mokk, an international coaching legend who has taught the likes of Mick Jagger, Tom Yorke, Eddie Vedder, and many more international stars.

Trap Metal Band The World I Knew Release New Music Video for "Piecefull" - WATCH IT HERE

Cincinnati-based The World I Knew bring a distinct and unapologetic vibe to the metalcore scene. Fusing together elements of electro, hip-hop and chest-pounding breakdowns, the quintet has released their latest single and music video "Piecefull."

"'Piecefull' is about pretenders," says vocalist Wesley Merritt. "Those that will pretend to be there for you and have your back as long as things are going well for them, and what happens to them once they've been exposed. We take loyalty very seriously, loyalty is everything."

"Piecefull" starts with Merritt acting as his own hype man before launching into a full-on lyrical beatdown. The video was directed by Josh Emerick and Ross Thiesen, shot in a Columbus, OH at The Continent.

The World I Knew have been striving to create music without boundaries or limitations since their formation in 2014 and the release of their debut single "Fuck a 9-5." The group's uncanny ability to seamlessly engage with audiences across the punk/metal/rap/rock scene makes them an attractive group to follow in 2019.

Listen to "Piecefull" now on Spotify.

India's Experimental / Groove Metallers Hostilian release their first track off their EP ‘Catalyst’

Indian Experimental / Groove Metallers Hostilian premiere their first track off their EP "Catalyst". The track titled 'Regressive Instincts' is packed with brutal grooves, devastating drums and monstrous vocals that hold a strong ground in what the song conveys as a message.

The band adds:-

“The EP is a study of the human condition. It's about how, deep down, we're actually like a virus, eating away the earth, even the other people and ourselves. All the good in people is just a face to show the world. There is a constant darkness in us just waiting for an opportunity to come out. This darkness is our most basic human instinct. Raping, killing, greed is all just a manifestation of what we really are deep inside. Each song talks about various aspects of this primary proclivity inside us. Everything we work for everyday is a lie. We are not meant for great things. We are only meant to end all cycles of life. A hard reboot to all life on Earth. We are a catalyst to the process that had begun long before we even stepped into this world.”

Canada's Sanguine Glacialis signs with Wormholedeath; releases "Monsters" official video

6/1/2018

Picture

Experimental death metal act Sanguine Glacialis have signed a distribution deal with Wormholedeath for the worldwide release of their album "Hadopelagic" (produced by Chris Donaldson of Cryptopsy).
Release date April 6th 2018.

Picture

Without darkness there can be no light, Sanguine Glacialis have stared into the very blackest pit, and, inspired by what they saw there, forged sonic masterpieces of the darkest beauty, it is not surprising their name means ‘frozen blood’ in Latin!

Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Sanguine Glacialis have shared the stage with Dark Tranquility, Omnium Gatherum, Delain, Hammerfall, Unexpect, Necronomicon and many more. The dark heart of Sanguine Glacialis is vocalist/keyboardist Maude, the sole original member left in the band. She describes their sound as ‘unique, original, intense and dark’.

Maude is enthusiastic about their new songs. “We took a huge step forward with this album and fans will appreciate it much more than the previous one. Everything is better in this one in my opinion. We want to show the new direction of the band. We want to show how much we’ve grown and how much the band has changed between the two albums. This album is a very dark part of my life, and it's something that everybody lives in their own way, and I hope this album will help fans go through their own difficulties.” Lyrically, Maude avoids the usual metal clichés. “Most of the songs are personal experiences that I wrote in the form of stories and legends.”

The band released the official video for the song "Monsters", taken from the upcoming album "Hadopelagic".

www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiDaAVL5PJA

Maude promises that Sanguine Glacialis offer a very different live experience. “What really makes this band special is the vast variety of influences we have. It goes from technical death metal to classical, through nu metal, rock, jazz, pop, rap, world music, and so much more.On stage, we bring our own theatrical style as well as a dark atmosphere that fits our songs. We have our own dynamic, and I play keyboards and sing at the same time during the show, which is also a change from the typical front-woman!”

Lithuanian Hardcore / Sludge Metallers Erdve sign to Season of Mist

12/9/2017

Season of Mist are proud to announce the signing of Erdve. The freshly conceived Lithuanian experimental hardcore collective will release their debut full-length, 'Vaitojimas' through Season of Mist.

The band comments: "Since Erdve is a very young name, this collaboration is proof that it is all about what matters the most - the music itself. We certainly did not have any expectations that the record could be presented to a wider audience, yet we are extremely proud and happy that our desire to create something meaningful for ourselves has procured a relationship with a record label which believes in artistic value. This partnership is a huge achievement in our creative lives and will set a strong basis for us to communicate our music, ideas, and artistic identity further on. We are incredibly thankful to Season of Mist for this opportunity.''

When Erdve formed in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius in 2016, the band had a clear aesthetic vision of creating a unique heavy sound that experimented with elements from hardcore, sludge, and black metal, yet was not bound by any unwritten "rules" surrounding those genres.

Erdve's members had already been active in their local scene and performed in various acts such as NYKSTA, SRAIGĖS EFEKTAS, and SPIRALE.

The core ideas of Erdve are translated into lyrics, visuals, and sound by in-depth reflection on concepts such as domestic violence, utmost disgusting behaviour, crimes against humanity, and extremism.

Erdve will release their debut album, 'Vaitojimas'' on Season Of Mist in 2018.

Kristijonas: guitar, soundscapes
Krizas: bass
Valdas: drums

India's Fragarak premieres new single 'In Rumination II – Reflections' via Rolling Stone

Experimental Indian death metal band Fragarak have put out a stunning album that's unparalleled at least this part of the world. Rolling Stone India premiered the first song from their massive album 'A Spectral Oblivion' AT THIS LINK.

Ambitious Indian band Fragarak from New Delhi have come up with an album of epic proportions. Featuring Louis Rando of Impiety on drums, they've fabricated elaborate songs that are both atmospheric and suspenseful. Their first album was groundbreaking in its vision, but with 'A Spectral Oblivion' they've truly proved their worth. This is a statement of sorts that bands from this part of the world too can come up with music that's original. Though steeped in classic death metal, they've done well to expand upon that style and add their own aura of mysticism and intrigue. Albums like these probably won't ever be replicated, but there's enough material here to last a while.
