India's Demonic Resurrection announce UK shows and reveal new video

Indian death metal legends have announced a UK tour and have already confirmed two festival appearances. The band had this to say about it -

"We are stoked to return to the UK once again and we couldn't have asked for a better festival to be a part of. We get to play alongside some of the artists that have inspired us over the years like Abbath, Rotting Christ and many more incredible artists".

The second festival appearance is at Eradication Festival 2018 where the leading band will be playing alongside bands such as Extreme Noise Terror, Hecate Enthroned, Wombbath, Warlord UK and others. RSVP HERE.

GMA Awards 2017:- The Public Vote Results

Who would have thought that Global Metal Apocalypse (GMA) would be celebrating 6 years this year as an international metal music outlet, giving bands worldwide endless coverage through reviews, interviews and everything in and around the edges? Not me.

I started GMA 6 years ago with the vision of unearthing, nurturing, promoting and expanding bands coverage across all continents and the islands dotted across planet earth, with the extended view of tapping into nascent metal scenes that were either unbeknownst to the wider metal community e.g. French Polynesia or to those freshly starting out at the hands of one or two bands e.g. Iron Sliver from Gabon.

6 years later and here I am, ready to announce who has won what category(s) at the annual GMA Awards. Voting went on for two weeks and saw thousands upon thousands of votes pouring in since the voting form went live.

GMA is run solely by one person, myself. But this has not put me off from continuing the site's progression and this year I started a sister site:- Global Mainstream Arts (http://globalmainstreamarts.weebly.com/) to give non-metal artists / bands coverage. But metal will always be at the forefront.

Hungary's Dalriada release new music video for ‘Búsirató’

The leading Hungarian folk metal band, Dalriada just released a new music video for ‘Búsirató’ from the upcoming new studio album ‘Nyárutó’.

‘Nyárutó’ will be released by Nail Records on digipak CD, MC and digital. Worldwide release: 19th January 2018 and distribution will be operated by Plastic Head Music Distribution (www.plastichead.com) - the album will be available on all major digital platforms!

Studio recordings were done by Denevér Studió and final works and mastering by the Finnish Finnvox Studios under the direction of Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Amorphis, Sólstafir, Stratovarius).

Leading Hungarian folk metal band, Dalriada unveils new album details, new booking agency and first festivals for 2018!

Nyárutó is going to be the 8th studio album of the ultimate Hungarian folk metal band, Dalriada. Album title refers to the folkish name of the month August - following the traditions as every Dalriada album dedicated to a month in line.

One unified, ambitious, in terms of its musical keys something similar to the previous records’ vehement wildness album was born, which is still deeply interlaced by the power and effect of the Hungarian folk music and cultural patrimony.

Amongst the covered themes there’s one saga from Szent István’s period (the founding of the hungarian state) but ancient Hungarian folk tales, a song about the medieval witch trials, some tracks in remembrance of the “hungarian El Cid”, Thury György (“turkish beater valiant”) also can be found.

Fajkusz Banda - the internationally well-known folk band - played a very important role again as with their authentic hungarian strings music they helped to deepen Nyárutó albums folk music bondings. Album artwork by long time Dalriada design artist Lakihegyi-Binder Júlia.

Greece's Fallen Arise confirmed for Summer Chaos 2017

Athens based Symphonic Metallers Fallen Arise are confirmed for Summer Chaos 2017, taking place on July 31st at Lazur Stadium (Burgas, Bulgaria), sharing the stage with Kreator, Tarja and Crematory, among others. Get more information here:

As previously announced, Fallen Arise will play Hammerfest (Wales) on the 17th of March 2018. Furthermore, the band is in the studio, recording their next, third album.

Fallen Arise, formed in 2009, released their second full length album “Adeline” in October 2015, via Rock Of Angels Records (aka ROAR), combining a theatrical atmosphere with a progressive approach and a heavy-metal-alike heaviness. The album takes us back in time of the Victorian era of the 19th century (1837-1901), presenting us the decay of the human body and mind through fiction. The album was realized in the collaboration with an ensemble of 40 renowned musicians from the National Opera, the Athens State Orchestra, the NERIT Orchestra and the Piraeus Concert Band. Fallen Arise have shared the stage with Paradise Lost, Moonspell, Leaves’ Eyes, Outloud, as well as playing several shows in Greece.

Denmark's Forever Still are working on new material; announced to play Bloodstock main stage

After their extensive tour with Children Of Bodom, the young rockers from Forever Still caught their breath and dedicated their time to the writing of several new songs. Just like they already did for their debut, singer Maja Shining and multi-instrumentalist Mikkel Haastrup once again work closely together for the songwriting process to create the successor of 'Tied Down', which was recently nominated for 'best debut' at the German Metal Hammer Awards - the ceremony will take place on September 15th in Berlin! Their second full-length release will drop in early 2018 and promises to stir up the heavy rock scene once more.

But before entering the studio, Forever Still conquer the festival stages again and today, they are happy to announce that they will play the main-stage on UK's biggest independent metal festival, Bloodstock Open Air!

The band comments: "We’re looking so much forward to playing the festival! We’ve all been hoping to play Bloodstock one day and we’re beyond excited to open the main stage this year; and what better occasion to premiere a track from our upcoming album?"

Mammothfest 2016 will support Martlets Hospice in Brighton following tragic passing of Tom from Architects‏

The Mammothfest team in Brighton have been deeply moved by the passing of Tom Searle of Architects recently. He spent his last days being cared for by the incredible people at Martlets hospice, a charity that rely on donations to continue to help those in need through their last days. Stephen Dickson, Mammothfest director commented:

"Firstly we send our love and compassion to the band and their families at this difficult time. Having personally witnessed the passing of my best friend and Mammothfest business partner Rik Mosquero in 2013 after months in a hospice, we know just how tough a journey it is. It is fucking brutal so we are compelled to do something positive to put some back. The people in hospices are on another level, the care they give is so amazing so Architects and Martlets have got our complete support.

We have therefore invited Martlets hospice down to have a stall for the weekend and we will be holding daily raffles so we can try to raise as much money as possible. This is where we ask everyone around the world to chip in and help the cause!"

Iron Maiden live on ARTE concert – the complete Wacken show!‏

Iron Maiden’s The Book of Souls World Tour has been on the road since late February, playing to over 1.5 million fans with 72 shows in 36 counties and six continents. They will play the final show on Thursday, 4 August in Germany at Wacken Open Air Festival. ARTE Concert is going to feature the entire iconic performance on Livestream. Arch Enemy announce press conference at Wacken Open Air‏

Arch Enemy will play the biggest stage production of their career at next week’s Wacken Open Air on Saturday, August 6th around midnight, making this the pinnacle of a highly successful album campaign. It all started in March 2014 when the band announced the new singer Alissa White-Gluz and the video for the album title track 'War Eternal', which became the most successful video in the band’s career and reached close to 20 million YouTube views.

The album reached the highest US and German chart positions in the band’s career and Arch Enemy played over 200 shows in over 40 countries around the world. In late 2014 Jeff Loomis (ex-Nevermore) joined Arch Enemy during the world tour with Kreator and in 2015 they played arenas as direct support of Nightwish.
