After last week’s band announcement, Bloodstock can now unveil a further seven bands locked in to play at Catton Park this August. Bloodstock are delighted to welcome Norwegian “blackjazz” act Shining, who will grace the main Ronnie James Dio Stage on Friday. Shining feature an avant garde mix of jazz, prog and metal, acknowledging a variation of influences from the likes of John Coltrane to Nine Inch Nails. Readers can view their video for song ‘I Won’t Forget’ (taken from their latest album ‘One One One’) here. http://www.shining.no/ Skyclad are bringing their Folk Metal jiggery to Friday’s Sophie Lancaster Stage, having played their first ever Bloodstock at Derby’s Assembly Rooms back in 2001, the lads are very much looking forward to getting a ‘jig-pit’ going at BOA 2014. Readers can check out their ‘Words Upon The Street’ video here. Also on the Sophie Stage on Friday are Brit riffmeisters, Krokoldil. Comprising of members from Gallows, Cry For Silence, Sikth, and Hexes, the chaps humorously call themselves “mostly beards and riffs”! http://www.facebook.com/krokodilrock London heavy rockers The Mercy House are getting airtime on Saturday’s Sophie Stage. They are another band who have performed on these holy grounds before back in 2012 on the Jagermeister stage. View the ‘My Disease’ video (from debut album ‘A Broken State Of Bliss’) here Sunday’s line up on the Sophie Lancaster Stage is shaping up nicely too, with the following three bands joining the fold. Firstly Swedish hellraisers Avatar join the party. No strangers to the UK, the band have toured with Five Finger Death Punch and Avenged Sevenfold, and more. They are presently gearing up for the release of a brand new album, recorded in Thailand. View their ‘Torn Apart’ video here (taken from their current release ‘Black Waltz’). Melo-death Brummies Morgue Orgy are set to return to Catton Park with a vengeance, stating that they “are truly honoured and excited to play Bloodstock after what has been a busy 2013, recording and releasing our debut album, ‘The Last Man On Earth’. We can't wait to get onstage and perform our best set for the Bloodstock crowd, and if our 2010 set on the New Blood Stage was anything to go by, we know it’s going to be an awesome atmosphere inside that tent! Let's get ready to party! Rot n’ Roll!” Bloodstock 2011 boded well for October File and so the British post-punk hardcore crew will also stalk the Sophie stage on Sunday. Fans hoping to hear new tunes are in for a treat, as the band release their long-awaited new concept album 'The Application Of Loneliness, Ignorance, Misery, Love And Despair - An Introspective Of The Human Condition' via Candlelight Records this May, their first new music in 4 years. http://www.facebook.com/octoberfile (Stay tuned for a new song soon!)

Bloodstock is excited to announce another Ronnie James Dio Stage band, plus four more Sophie Lancaster Stage acts for this August’s event. Gothenburg, Sweden’s hard rockers Graveyard will be taking over the main Ronnie James Dio Stage on Sunday. The Nuclear Blast four-piece have just wrapped dates on Australia’s Soundwave Festival, playing choice cuts from latest album, ‘Lights Out’. Immerse yourself in their latest video for ‘Endless Nights’ here http://www.facebook.com/graveyardofficial Stepping up for a Saturday slot on the Sophie Lancaster Stage are Norwegian death metallers, Blood Red Throne. Having released their seventh studio album last year, simply entitled ‘Blood Red Throne’, the band proclaim “It’s about time Blood Red Throne get the chance to tear shit up at the almighty Bloodstock Festival! We can’t wait to see old and new fans. Let the madness begin!” Check out their latest video for fan favorites ‘Primitive Killing Machine’ from their eponymous album here. NWOBHM stalwarts, Battleaxe also join the Saturday bill. Harking from the North East, the band formed in 1980 and made waves for eight years before going on hiatus. Having regrouped in 2007, Battleaxe are back with a vengeance, with their latest album, ‘Heavy Metal Sanctuary’ hitting stores last week. http://www.battleaxemetal.com/ The Sophie Stage also welcomes Finnish self-appointed ‘death n’ roll’ outfit, Profane Omen. The band are readying their fourth studio album, ‘Reset’ for release on 17th March through Spinefarm Records. Check out their lyric video for ‘Sonic Wings’ here Homegrown monolithic death metal act, The King Is Blind will be steamrolling into Bloodstock on Saturday. Although a new band, its various members have a wealth of experience and their festival debut performance should not be missed! For the curious, the band extend this invitation: “Brothers & Sisters of the crown, download our free 4-track promo 'Bleeding The Ascension' here. Thus spake the King.” Bloodstock is also pleased to announce its ongoing support for Teenage Cancer Trust. Last year, Bloodstock and its festival goers raised their highest figure to date for Teenage Cancer Trust - just shy of £7500, a £3000 increase on the previous year! They’re now keener than ever to improve on that in 2014. Bloodstock loves to break a record, especially for a good cause! Look out for Teenage Cancer Trust’s stall on site, go say hello and pick up a raffle ticket for one of the many great prizes planned for the weekend. The ever-popular T-shirt Amnesty will once again be running, so bring along any unwanted rock and metal tees to either donate on site, or if you want to clear your cupboards ASAP, email [email protected] for details on how to help. By GMA's Indian correspondent Farzand Bawa They said extreme metal has no stand in society, but there is always that one section of people who live up to fight against all odds and make extreme metal the winner in the end. In Kolkata (Calcutta) it comes as no surprise that Putrid Ascendancy is that one rigid structure between the true and the false. After the utter disappointment of Ritual Ascension Fest II having to be postponed due to the governments embarrassing visa policies, it was sure that Putrid Ascendancy was coming back with a vengeance to hit it harder and make a statement in the Indian Scene as a whole. The border tensions across East Bengal meant that not only were people being disallowed visas but it was almost unlikely that any good news would have come up in anytime soon. But with persistent strive of the guys at Putrid Ascendancy it comes as a pleasure to announce that Ritual Ascension Fest II will not only be taking place but it will become even bigger than before. We have one of the best band Black / Death Metal bands in the whole of South Asia let alone Bangladesh, Nafarmaan to look forward to. These guys not only slay the false but kill with such power that the mainstream core bands piss their pants just by the name of the band. After a neck breaking performance at the Banish The Posers Fest a month ago we feel great to announce to cover these guys again next month. "Quayamat Lullaby" is one of the most awaited releases in the underground at the moment and no wonder why. Here we have a band of such stature that even before being actively performing live for six months the fan following is unbelievable and on the other hand we have those core bands playing the same riffs, same emo themes and even pathetic support audience even after a longer existence in the scene (and seemingly dying out even faster then their riffs). The sick circumstances have a victim in the form of the mighty and talented Enmachined having to come down from the line up due to visa issues. But not to be disappointed we have the newest Poser killing group Deadbolt completing the lineup. They play the cult Death / Thrash genre in the veins of (early) Sepultura, Kreator, Demolition, Hammer, etc. No doubt that the Kolkata scene has to be one of the best underground scenes but it even get betters this coming January when ultra quality in the form of Nafarmaan hits us. We have the ever improving bad asses Kapalin continuing in the Black / Death vein. To follow up we have Purgation who just released their debut EP “Exterminated Malfeasance” and going great since then having decimated everything in their path in the just concluded Banish The Posers Fest alongside Nafarmaan. Rounding up the line up we have two bands against whom very few can bet against in the Extreme Metal genre as a whole. Bestial Death Metal at it’s peak in the form of Necrodeity and the Black / Thrash of the highest order in the form of Armament. Rest assured will make sure that the false fall for good. Imagining this as a teaser we can make a small estimate as to what awaits us on the 11th of January, 2014. Possibly the best new years gift the Kolkata scene could have asked for. Credit has to be given to Putrid Ascendancy for sticking to the cause and keeping the original line up as close as possible. These are a bunch of guys hell bent in keeping the flag of Old School Extreme Metal risen and taking standards higher and higher even without mainstream sponsors support which is quite evident in the core scenes. With all this we know what to look forward to and just hope that along with the neck sprain we get some real blood on the stage. Infernal Hails to the Putrid Ascendancy crew for keeping it real. It has been about 28 years since the inception of heavy metal music in Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi metalheads are all set to experience their first international metal festival in the most extreme and primitive form: Banish The Poser Fest 2013! The festival is going to be held on November 16th 2013 and will be organized by Primitive Invocation. The poster was designed by the talented artist Raiyan Momen and was unveiled last Tuesday (9th July) and has created much hype especially amongst the old school metal listeners. The line consists of Twisted Fate (Australia), Savage Deity (Thailand), Kathgor (Malaysia), Orator (Bangladesh), Nafarmaan (Bangladesh), Purgation (India) and Necrodeity (India).
