Today Italian groove metallers Nemesis Inferi unleash their personal tribute to Billy Idol’s classic anthem “Shock To The System”. The song will be included on the upcoming compilation “FantaRock (Watchers Of The Sky) - One Hour Of Fantarock” conceived and developed by the renowned Italian journalist Mario Gazzola. https://youtu.be/hugrmgp_eoA “Usually we don’t cover other bands’ songs, but the opportunity offered us by Nee Cee Agency to be part of this cool compilation was very challenging and exciting. We thought it was cool to propose something different and distant from our genre. We needed a song connected with rock and sci-fi. So, after a night spent drinking beers and eating pulled pork, we said: ‘Let’s play Billy Idol! Shock To The System!”. Nemesis Inferi are currently working on the follow-up to the 2018’s acclaimed latest full-length album “A Bad Mess”. Crafted in the Bergamo area around January 1997 by the singer, guitarist, main composer and only original member G.M. Gain, Nemesis Inferi fulfil the precise need to explore the groove metal influences and the gothic imaginary of four musicians with several years of experience behind them. Nemesis Inferi’s style does not simply rework influences that are anything but obvious, such as the most tempered grunge, the recent evolution of American hard rock and the roots of extreme metal, but also aims its inspiration to the goal of an immediately recognizable and really personal sound. Pumped by an expressive power and rhythmic dynamics difficult to find in other contemporary bands, the music of Nemesis Inferi is open-wide even in terms of concept, offering a deep lyrical approach inspired by true stories of everyday life, of course preserving a visceral fascination for the occult. Melting the tragic romances of Type O Negative with the cold isolationism of Bathory, the lysergic journeys of Led Zeppelin with the visual impact of Rob Zombie, the angry disquiet of Slayer with the resigned pain of Alice In Chains, Nemesis Inferi prove themselves capable of inducing a huge cinematic effect on the listener. The music of Nemesis Inferi overcomes the limits of definitions, conveying a message of dedication to art and expressive freedom in the clearest and frankest sense. The true essence of music transcends the real perception and creates a virtuous circle between a violent impact and transcendent suggestions. LINE-UP G.M. American Thrash / Groove Metallers I Am The Law release new single "Dance of the Southern Witch"13/4/2019 Tennessee groove metallers I Am The Law have just released their new single "Dance of the Southern Witch" via Alternative Control. The track is taken from their upcoming EP of the same name which will be released this spring. Listen to the track here: http://www.alternativecontrolct.com/music/altctrltoob-video-premiere-i-am-the-laws-dance-of-the-southern-witch/#.XLD7T-hKjIU “You know what? F@$% it! We’ll just do it ourselves.” That’s the attitude I Am The Law takes with its approach to its own brand of Southern Metal. Embodying the self-reliant spirit of the American South, these four rowdy boys from Nashville groove and shred. Drawing from influences such as Pantera, Lamb Of God, Rob Zombie, The Showdown, He is Legend, and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, the band created a distinct, aggressive sound with 2015’s EP Blackwater Gospel. With sophomore offering Hymn Of the Vulture (originally put out in 2017 and re-released fall 2018), I Am The Law refined its voice and sound, becoming more mature and even more aggressive with each track. The band has been nominated for the 2016/17 and now 2018 NIMA Awards for Best Hard Rock/Metal Band. They have also opened up for more well known and established acts such as Superjoint, Crowbar, Doyle, The Obsessed, Battle Cross, Enterprise Earth, Child Bite, and Mobile Deathcamp. Variable. Unconventional: Some attributes which perfectly describe the sound of Sober Truth. The sound of this band is quite unique, a break of most musical conventions. From the start in 2007, narrow-minded folks and rigid ears have been struggling with the edgy sound of the Progressive Groove formation. On the new album buster "Psychosis" singer and guitarist Torsten Schramm, lead guitarist Aaron Vogelsberg, bass-witch Jules RoCkwell and drummer Sam Baw go so massive in the full as never before. The quartet's most mature work to date presents a truly eruptive burst of Modern Metal music that takes its listeners into another world. The combination of melancholic rich sounds, energetically resounding guitar riffs, driving drums and punchy bass-lines can excite fans of Progressive Rock / Metal, Groove Metal and Thrash Metal alike. The hard and groovy guitar riffs on "Psychosis" are a powerful base to bring out the driving choruses and the very versatile vocals along with rough shouts. Blastbeats, tappings, clean parts, the 2019 palette is quite wide. But the accurately targeted diversity in the tracks also includes rousing played, very variably accented drums. Lyrically, SOBER TRUTH have gone to so much trouble for "Psychosis" to compete with a contemporary concept. (Markus Eck) The band commented about: "What do we see in the human being facing us, does he show us his truth or a mask? The inner grief changes him, imperceptibly, cruelly, tearing him and scarring his psyche. Everyone knows the feeling of powerlessness, at first timid, then with force flooding our consciousness, unstoppable and mercilessly. The wave ebbs, leaving behind a trembling, naked body, the worst is yet to come: fear ..." More: "With titles like 'Akardos' (Heartless), 'Solitude' and especially the title track 'Psychosis', we enter a personal universe of grief, loneliness, doubt that many people know. With 'Psychosis' awakens maybe a truth that we repressed ... but also hope, power and confidence. SOBER TRUTH takes us on a mental rollercoaster ride that lets the last track roll out congenially. We're changing every day, all our lives. The new album picks up where we start to repress. 'Psychosis' looks at our scarred psyche and tells our story." Official release of the new album "Psychosis": February, 23th 2019. Having played the HRH Metal festival in at the 02 Academy Birmingham, Devilment's drummer Matt Alston announces he is to stand down from band duties after posting on Instagram the following:- "Having stepped in to complete the show as a favour, it gave me clarity on my decision to leave. I won’t talk any further on the reasons, but it has been a pleasure spending the last couple of years in the Devilment camp, and being a part of writing the music I am most proud of in my career. Thanks to all the fans, and all involved over the years!" Whilst the drummer vacancy will remain one to keep an eye on, in the mean time the Suffolk crew have brought Chris Casket on to fill in bassist duties. Both Chris and Matt know each other from playing in the WW2 Black Metal band Eastern Front, as for Devilment the merry-go-round of musicians carries on, as only just last year Anabelle Iratni took on the female vocals and keyboard duties, replacing the departing Lauren Francis. It so happens that Chris taking on bass duties comes as a result of Nick Johnson leaving in 2017. Devilment had this to say about Chris joining the band:- "Joining us for the first time on stage this weekend (16th Feb) will be our new(ish) bass player Chris Casket. Chris has been with us for the past year working patiently behind the scenes with the band, so HRH Metal Birmingham will be his live debut. So, welcome aboard the Devilment express another creature from the depths of Suffolk our bassist and friend, Mr. Casket!" https://www.facebook.com/devilmentcorps/ Canadian Industrial Groove one-man project Dark Years From Now to release debut album on 8th March14/2/2019 Based in Vancouver BC, this sonically diverse act is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Dan Potter. Using heavy barrages of thrashing poly-rhythmic riffage to whip up intensity levels, DYFN descends into abstracted darkness and finds a sonic blueprint that’s filled with endless possibilities. Guitars are driven to their most extreme by incorporating experimental approaches in technique and composition serving as a perfect backdrop to the deep, chaotic experiences brought forth lyrically as dark riddles are wretched out with harrowing screams. The debut LP by Dark Years from Now was conceived to be a unique listening journey. Whether it’s the pulsating industrial metal edged aesthetic or the cathartic layers of electronic instrumentation, each track offers a world of intriguing sound and substance. Unafraid to take a non-linear approach, many of the songs are forged with abstract intent even using the words as yet another aural paintbrush, obscuring to reveal. Four of the eleven tracks are instrumental in nature providing more time for listeners in the churning abyss of variable perception. Dark Years from Now will release its self-titled debut on March 8, 2019. Mellieha, Malta based Active Metal Band Align The Tide has released the official music video for "Dead Religiom," the title track off of their debut album. Check it out here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_zt1wIp6oA "'Dead Religion' takes inspiration from prayers which remain unanswered, thereby instilling doubt on each person. False advertising from preachers and prophets lighten up the grim thoughts of death with nice ideas of the afterlife, which some people choose to believe it, even though we were not promised anything after death." - Align The Tide The founders of the band Danny on Drums & Kyle on Guitars/Vocals, have been exploring music genres for the past nine years before settling in the active sound you hear today! Joining the ranks with Gabriel on bass & Alston on rhythm guitar, the line-up was completed. Together, they composed music based on thrash, groove & melodic metal resulting in the recording of their debut album Dead Religion & videos for "The Golden Throne" & "Welcome to Hell" from the same self financed record. Merchandise has been designed & produced to accompany the above release. The band participated in several local gigs & festivals where they have rooted their main fan base before embarking on a mini European tour visiting Germany and the Czech Republic. In March 2018, the band supported the legendary band Mushroomhead on their American tour visiting several main cities such as: Mesa, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Jerome, Fort Collins, Denver, Colorado Springs, Lincoln, Waterloo, Minneapolis, Joliet, Madison, Racine, Cleveland. As time went by, Alston decided to take a break from the music business and thus, Nikki was recruited to the family as rhythm guitar. The track titled 'Regressive Instincts' is packed with brutal grooves, devastating drums and monstrous vocals that hold a strong ground in what the song conveys as a message. The band adds:- “The EP is a study of the human condition. It's about how, deep down, we're actually like a virus, eating away the earth, even the other people and ourselves. All the good in people is just a face to show the world. There is a constant darkness in us just waiting for an opportunity to come out. This darkness is our most basic human instinct. Raping, killing, greed is all just a manifestation of what we really are deep inside. Each song talks about various aspects of this primary proclivity inside us. Everything we work for everyday is a lie. We are not meant for great things. We are only meant to end all cycles of life. A hard reboot to all life on Earth. We are a catalyst to the process that had begun long before we even stepped into this world.” Hostilian - Regressive Instincts | Official Lyric Video - https://youtu.be/hx5oVTG-Pkw Pre-Orders Start from December 5th, 2018 Mixed & Mastered by Dave Levine Artwork by- Icosa Consultants https://www.facebook.com/hostilianband https://www.instagram.com/hostilian_official/ |
