Agonia Records have recently announced the signing of Swedish Doom Metal outfit Kongh.
This relatively new band, formed back in 2004, has quickly risen amongst the ranks of Swedish acts worth watching, being nominated to the P3 Guld Award (Swedish equivalent of the Grammy Awards) for their debut album. After a successful and intense tour with critically acclaimed Yob in September and October of 2011, Kongh focused on writing their 3rd to date album: yet untitled and expected for early 2013. The band has issued the following statement regarding the new deal and upcoming release: "Three years have passed since our last album was released, and we're stoked to announce that the song writing for a whole new album is now finalized. We'll skip the in-depth details for now since it's nearly possible to give a sensible description of your own music, but there's definitely some new twists and dimensions there as well as the traditional Kongh riffage. One thing we can say for sure is that we're very enthusiastic about the songs and we cannot wait to enter the studio! It will happen at the end of the summer, with Karl Daniel Lidén (Dozer, Switchblade) in the engineering seat. Another thing we're happy about is the new record deal with Agonia Records. We've been in touch with them for well over a year now, and while we've had a few offers from different labels, Agonia was the one which seemed to suit us best. Metal Blade Records is thrilled to announce the signing of German Progressive Death Metallers Over Your Threshold.
Arising from Munich, Germany Over Your Threshold began playing live in 2007. After numerous gigs with renowned Death Metal acts like Obscura, Deadborn and Hokum, the band made a name for itself in the local metal-scene. The first record, "Progress In Disbelief EP", was self-released in 2008. Over the years the band's concept of Death Metal gained ground and its actual sound is enriched with a great diversity of musical elements. Influenced by different Death Metal bands (reaching from the 80's up to now) Over Your Threshold's music combines progressive Death Metal with a bit of Thrash and some fusion components. In 2011, the band entered the Woodshed Studio in Landshut, Germany to record their first full-length album, entitled "Facticity". The sound of the album is not only more blasting but also more technical, interspersed with energetic Death Metal riffing as well as melodic acoustic guitars. It's enriched by brute-force blast beats, Thrash Metal, jazzy harmonics and the distinct tones of smooth, fretless bass. Furthermore, the band recruited guest musicians Steffen Kummerer (Obscura, Thulcandra) and Jonas Fischer (Hokum, Ex-Obscura) to jazz up their debut album. Metal Blade Records have signed Australian Heavy Doom outfit Raven Black Night.
Formed in 1999 in Adelaide, Raven Black Night started their campaign to bring their traditional metal sound to the global scene. After numerous gigs throughout Australia they recorded and released their debut album 'Choose The Dark' in 2005. 'Choose The Dark' turned heads all over Australia and Europe, resulting in an invite in 2007 to play at the 10th annual Headbangers Open Air in Germany. A new collaboration with Metal Blade Records and a new album in the process will firmly bring the quartet to the masses. Norwegian Grunge Rock / Metallers Angerman has penned a deal with Wormholedeath/Aural Music Group. 23rd April will see the band enter Realsound Studio in Parma, Italy with producer Wahoomi Corvi (Crysalys, The Way Of Purity, Haterial). Release date is yet tbc but is likely to be sometime in 2012.

This comes in the wake of their reformation after a year's absence and consequently they wasted no time and went on to release the acclaimed new album after eleven years with "A Thin Shell". 2012 sees the quintet plugging away at their as-of-yet untitled new album and is sure to cause a storm amongst the foundations of the Swedish Metal scene. They are scheduled to record it at the well-known Swedish Black Lounge Studio (Scar Symmetry, Carnal Forge, etc) and will be produced by the Swedish legend that is Jonas Kjellgren. The drummer Robin Bergh had this to say in reflection of the band's latest achievements: "We are extremely pleased to sign with Pulverised Records for the next album and beyond. During the negotiations for the new deal we noticed that Roy, Calvin and the entire Pulverised crew were seriously thrilled about the band and the art we create, hence we are confident that this doomish union will bring OCTOBER TIDE to the next level.
