Katharos XIII have finished their third opus entitled “Palindrome”; five long tracks that shifted from the traditional depressive black metal into a more eclectic art form of expression with dark doom metal and post-jazz elements, a certain evolution into a more personal unearthly ambiance that represent a new path in the journey that this band embarked more than twelve years ago. The same paranoia and weirdness but with different tools this time. The new incarnation of Katharos XIII: Manuela Marchis - vocals F. - guitars, keyboards, vocals Sabat - drums Alex Iovan - saxophone Hanos-Puskai Péter - bass New members come from different non-metal environments like Thy Veils, Exit Oz or Dara Project and this created new different layers of expression during the recording sessions that evolved into an alienated and rather strange form in opposition with the conventional music scene of now days because most of the recordings were done by each member alone in their own universe without any connection with the rest of the band; in some cases only Attila Lukinich was there in DSPro studios to capture the sounds and drummer Sabat was responsible for mixing and mastering the whole album. “Palindrome” will be available in early autumn through Loud Rage Music on a CD format with a special visual concept designed by Alexandru Das. https://www.facebook.com/KatharosXIII/ www.loudragemusic.com loudragemusic.bandcamp.com The sad news of frontwoman Seraina leaving Burning Witches has been circulating the internet over the last week, highlighting that sometimes there are things beyond your control that you don't see coming... Continuing in their relentless pursuit of bringing heavy metal magic to the masses, the band are delighted to welcome new witch Laura from the Netherlands into the fold. The band are introducing Laura to their fans in the form of a new track. Check out 'Wings Of Steel' (available digitally from July 19) over on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Jr0hcJw8km8 Seraina states about her departure:- "Dear friends, for personal reasons and after much deliberation I've decided to fully dedicate myself to my band Dead Venus and to leave the band Burning Witches. For the last four years I have had an incredible journey but I feel now that is the time to explore the challenge my own project is offering me. I would like to thank my family, friends and of course the fans for the incredible support. I also thank the band, the label and the management for all their help. There are a lot of beautiful experiences I’ll keep with me forever. My debut album for Dead Venus titled Bird Of Paradise will be released later this year. So my life remains exciting! I wish the Witches all the best and good luck for the future!" Band leader Romana continues:- "This is of course a very sad moment for all of us. We have been very close for the last few years and have achieved a lot together. It's with great sadness we have to accept that Seraina wants to move on and we wish her the best of luck for that! Your time with the Witches will never be forgotten! For us as a band it is important now to look to the new challenges ahead and the new record - the show must go on! Yes we are super thrilled that we have found Laura so quickly via our Dutch connection Sonia. We know it is impossible to replace a great voice in exactly the same way, that is why Laura is the perfect choice for us. She will bring her own strength and personality into the Witches! We will not change the identity of the band, we will continue playing the music we love! Laura is an experienced and crisp vocalist with a wide range and a crazy enough personality to be one of US! Please give her a warm welcome – she has already won many metal hearts at our first show with her at Sweden Rock Festival! We will continue to spread the magic of the witches - thanks for all the support over the years!" New witch Laura states:- "Dear Burning Witches fans of the world, I am really excited and know that I have big shoes to fill! I want to thank you that you've given me this opportunity and also the Burning Witches for their trust and the warm welcome they've given me into their sisterhood! Being able to play the music I love with great people, performing at those amazing shows and festivals, and being supported by a fantastic team is a dream that has come true for me. I can't really wish for more! We are working our asses off at the moment to bring the magic to you all! Keep the fire burning! See you soon on the road and thanks for the support!" Hexenhammer is available for order on a variety of different formats: All formats: nuclearblast.com/bw-hexenhammer Limited Digipack CD: nblast.de/BurningWitchesCD Limited Edition Double Gatefold Black Vinyl: nblast.de/BurningWitchesVinyl Digital album: nblast.de/BWHexenhammerIT Having played the HRH Metal festival in at the 02 Academy Birmingham, Devilment's drummer Matt Alston announces he is to stand down from band duties after posting on Instagram the following:- "Having stepped in to complete the show as a favour, it gave me clarity on my decision to leave. I won’t talk any further on the reasons, but it has been a pleasure spending the last couple of years in the Devilment camp, and being a part of writing the music I am most proud of in my career. Thanks to all the fans, and all involved over the years!" Whilst the drummer vacancy will remain one to keep an eye on, in the mean time the Suffolk crew have brought Chris Casket on to fill in bassist duties. Both Chris and Matt know each other from playing in the WW2 Black Metal band Eastern Front, as for Devilment the merry-go-round of musicians carries on, as only just last year Anabelle Iratni took on the female vocals and keyboard duties, replacing the departing Lauren Francis. It so happens that Chris taking on bass duties comes as a result of Nick Johnson leaving in 2017. Devilment had this to say about Chris joining the band:- "Joining us for the first time on stage this weekend (16th Feb) will be our new(ish) bass player Chris Casket. Chris has been with us for the past year working patiently behind the scenes with the band, so HRH Metal Birmingham will be his live debut. So, welcome aboard the Devilment express another creature from the depths of Suffolk our bassist and friend, Mr. Casket!" https://www.facebook.com/devilmentcorps/ Swedish heavy progressive band Vokonis have announced that drummer Emil Larsson has left the band and replaced by Peter Ottoson. The band commented: "Emil has decided to leave Vokonis. There are no bad feelings involved. Emil felt done with the band and wanted to leave the position for a person that would feel love for the songs and the band. The new record we recorded in 2018 will be Emil's last contributions to the band. We are of course incredibly sad by his decision, but that is life. We are excited to welcome Peter as our new drummer." More information on the new album will be announced in the next few months! For more information on Vokonis check their Facebook or Bandcamp pages: https://vokonis.bandcamp.com https://www.facebook.com/OfficialVokonis/ Phoenix-based thrash icons, Sacred Reich, are thrilled to announce the return of former drummer Dave McClain to their ranks, following his departure from Bay Area Metal outfit Machine Head last month after 23 years on the drum throne. Before joining Machine Head, McClain played drums for Sacred Reich for four years between 1991 and 1995. Sacred Reich's frontman and bassist, Phil Rind comments: 'It is with great pleasure that we announce that Dave McClain is once again a member of Sacred Reich! This was the best case scenario that we could have hoped for. Dave is the best! A great drummer and a great person and we are beyond excited to welcome him back to the band. We're headed into the studio in February and can't wait for you all to hear our new record due in the Summer of 2019!' Dave echoes the sentiment, stating:- 'I'm so excited about re-joining my brothers in Sacred Reich. To have the opportunity to make and play music with one of my favourite metal bands was always something I hoped could happen. I can't wait for everyone to hear the new album that we're recording in February and to come see us out on the road in 2019-2020.' Featuring the band's original line-up introduced on their 1999 platinum-selling debut full-length album, Wisconsin Death Trip, bassist Tony Campos, guitarist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Ken Jay have joined forces once again to release a new album, Project Regeneration. The album, set for release in spring 2019, will be released in conjunction with a world tour to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip. The band plans to perform the majority of their debut album at each show. Headline dates will serve as memorial events to honour late frontman Wayne Static, who passed away on November 1, 2014. More information on the world tour and other dates will be coming soon. The band has cultivated a treasure chest of vocal performances and musical compositions left behind by Wayne. Along with the help of Static-X 's long-time producer Ulrich Wild, the band is in the process of completing their seventh studio album, which will feature between 12 and 15 brand new Static-X tracks. "With the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip quickly approaching, it feels like the right time to pay our respects to the band, to Wayne, and to all the fans who have been with us right from the start. We had a lot of material to work with... several demos that Wayne left behind, as well as some really great isolated vocal performances from some nearly finished songs. Together, we have been writing and crafting something very special!" says bassist Tony Campos Check out a new teaser featuring clips from a brand new music video, as well as five new Static-X tracks - "Road To Hell", "Something Of My Own", "Terminator Oscillator", "Hollow" and "Disco Otsego" - along with a personal message from bassist Tony Campos about the inspiration behind Project Regeneration now at www.static-x.org. For the unfinished tracks, the band is inviting several of their friends to lend their voices for the completion of this very personal project. "We have confirmed interest from our friends David Draiman, Ivan Moody, Al Jorgensen, Dez Fafara, Edsel Dope, Burton C Bell, and a few others," says Campos. "Unfortunately, due to everyone's crazy schedules, it is a little early to know how things will shake out. We are more than confident that the album will have some incredible guest vocalists, but it should be noted that it is still too early to count anyone in 100%." The guest vocalist curation process is being led by none other than SiriusXM programming pioneer Jose Mangin, who is working alongside the band as one of the executive producers for Project Regeneration. Static-X has created a pre-order campaign allowing fans who purchase Project Regeneration in advance to have their name appear in the liner notes of the new album. Additional special pre-order package options are also available, including Project Regeneration merch bundles and several old school Static-X merch items to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip. Pre-orders are available via www.static-x.org. "This is a celebration of Static-X Wisconsin Death Trip, Wayne Static, and all of our fans," adds Campos. "We are very excited about what we have created, so we wanted to involve the fans early, and in a campaign sort of way, so that they can participate with us and help to dictate some of the things that we do." "Reuniting with the guys has been an amazing experience," says drummer Ken Jay. "It's been so much fun sharing stories and working on new music together. Obviously, it is bittersweet because we all miss Wayne and we wish that he was here with us, doing what he did best... Evil Disco..." "I am so excited to play Static-X songs live again," says guitarist Koichi Fukuda. "The Static-X sound is so big and powerful live! I can't wait to play songs like "Bled For Days", "Push It" and "I'm With Stupid" again." Static-X plans to do multiple video updates and a series of Facebook Live chats over the next few months in order to keep the fans involved as the process continues to unfold. "We feel very grateful that we have such a loyal fan base that misses the band, and misses Wayne, and I know that Wayne would appreciate all the heart and effort that we are putting into this," says Tony Campos. "I've had some very heartfelt discussions with Wayne's family about doing this. They were very touched by the amount of love and effort that we have put into this new album and they have given us their full support. Having the blessing of Wayne's family means the world to us! I know in my heart that Wayne would be very proud! Stay tuned for more Project Regeneration and world tour details coming soon! www.static-x.org www.facebook.com/staticx/ Twitter: @officialstaticx Instagram: @staticxofficial Australian folk/symphonic metal rockers, Stormtide, have announced their new line up after the departure of previous vocalist, Dmitry.
