English extreme metal group Ghosts Of Atlantis are pleased to debut their cinematic journey for the next track from their debut album "3.6.2.4". The bands sound is an epic journey for the listener, full of beautiful melodies, backed up by a crushing assault with emotive lyrics. Building the lore around the mythology of ancient Greece and Atlantis, GOA delivers it's own story, a story weaving both historic findings and fantasy storytelling.

The album begins with the track "The Third Pillar", this first track ties in with the band’s 'Three Pillar' logo, and sets the tone. The bands debut album entitled "3.6.2.4" will be out March 26th worldwide via Black Lion Records in CD, LP and digital formats.

"The Third Pillar" tells the tale of the great pilgrimage by the Atlantean people. The path to the Lemuiran Halls are treacherous, blinded by belief, the people embark across the lands. The ultimate goal being to reach the Three Pillars, it is said that the pillars are the sole point of contact with the Ghosts. The elders teach of the ability to unlock time travel and magic, yet, to raise the Ghosts, they must first survive the journey.

Ukrainian modern melodic metallers Scarleth unveil their new video for the track "Be What You Are"; taken from their latest full length album "Vortex".

Check out the video here: https://youtu.be/3jmvVOiJvHY

Playing music at the joint of modern heaviness and diverse melodism, the band’s style is expanding constantly and represents a mind-blowing mixture of many melodic metal genres – from power, folk, doom and gothic metal to modern progressive metal. The band completely deserves to be called one of the most outstanding young musical representatives of their style.

Guitarist Victor Morozov comments:

"This music video is a tribute to the pre-COVID 19 era we all miss so much. We hope that the good old days when bands were touring the world freely will return soon! "Be What You Are" is a short and driven song which says that anyone can achieve anything. The most important thing s to believe in yourself and take action. I must say that the riffs in this track are quite unusual for our style and that makes the track stand out on it's own."

The "Be What You Are" video was recorded during the final show on the "Vortex" tour - November 16th, 2019 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Their second album "The Silver Lining" was reissued in December 2020.

Both "Vortex" and "The Silver Lining" are available on Rockshots Store:

Italian Melodic Metallers Ravenscry unveil "The Door Inside" lyric video

24/4/2020

Ravenscry has unveiled a video for “The Door Inside,” the latest in a weekly series of lyric videos leading up to the May 15 release of the album 100.

Watch “The Door Inside” at https://youtu.be/r07aMfSeVdM.

Musically, “The Door Inside” is a combination of both the “classic” and the renewed sound of the Italian alt-metal band. Mighty 8-string riffs and chords give way to melodic synths and even catchier vocals – in a sense, exploring new shores while keeping the same bold attitude.

Giulia Stefani states that:-

“In a similar way, you can find a sort of dichotomy in the lyrics, where personal research can deepen one of our greatest inner struggles: the never-ending ‘fight’ between instinct and rationality. This conflict becomes ‘louder’ when we have to make choices, and yet we don’t face them the same way every time. Sometimes we want to be more rational, sometimes we wish to fulfil our desires and sometimes we just have to find the right balance in order to take the best decision. Everyone finds their answers, although we all know that there’s only one thing we have to leave outside the door: fear.”

The melodic metal band is launching back onto the global metal scene with the highly anticipated 100. Featuring dramatically soaring vocals, bone-shaking rhythms and dark songwriting, for nearly a decade this fierce group has been hooking millions of listeners worldwide with their infectious anthems. Their first album in three years, 100 attests to Ravenscry’s bold return. With more energy, more melody and even smarter lyrics, 100 stays true to the core of Ravenscry’s sound while remaining accessible enough to hook even more new listeners. Sincere, intelligent and brutally honest — the album sums up the human experience to a tee, from epic highs to soul-crushing lows.

Ravenscry released “Maybe,” the first official single and video from 100, last month. Watch “Maybe” here: https://youtu.be/ROgLlZSBfzE.

“The Entertainer” – a song inspired by entertainers who keep audiences smiling while silently struggling and fighting personal demons – was the first in the lyric video series and can be viewed at https://youtu.be/41FhzbVAar0.

100 was produced by Ravenscry, mixed by Roberto Laghi (In Flames, Hardcore Superstar) and mastered by Dragan Tanasković (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity). The album features artwork by Spanish artist Mario “Aégis” S. Nevado.

Pre-order 100 now via the Ravenscry webstore at https://store.ravenscryband.com/.

Ravenscry first made a mark on the world in 2011 with their debut album, One Way Out, and began steadily grinding their way up the ranks of the global metal scene. In 2014, the band spearheaded a campaign to raise awareness about violence against women with the release of The Attraction of Opposites and the single “Alive,” released on International Women’s Day. 2017 saw the release of the concept album The Invisible, which told a complex and mystifying coming of age tale, followed by numerous European festival appearances and tours with Angra and Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime.

English Melodic Metalcore outfit Bury Tomorrow announce new album 'Cannibal' - out July 3rd on Music For Nations / Sony Music

16/4/2020

Bury Tomorrow will release their sixth album, Cannibal, on July 3rd via Music For Nations / Sony

Bury Tomorrow‘s 2018 album Black Flame catapulted them into metal’s upper echelons. It was the band’s third consecutive UK Top 40 album - quite the feat for a heavy band - and took them on a tour which culminated with a huge show at London’s iconic Roundhouse. But with follow-up Cannibal, the band have taken another leap forward.

Watch the music video for the title-track here: https://smarturl.it/BTCannibal/youtube

Already, the South Coast quintet are responsible for some of metalcore’s most rousing anthems, and Cannibal is stacked with more glorious vocal hooks, razor-sharp riffs and sublime melodies that will solidify their seat at UK metal’s top table.

To record it, the band reunited with SikTh guitarist and Black Flame producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Young Guns), while mixing and mastering was completed by Adam "Nolly" Getgood and Ermin Hamidovic, the dream team behind Architects’ Holy Hell.

The result is Bury Tomorrow’s most technical, anthemic album yet. And while vocalist Dani Winter Bates has long been one of metal’s loudest advocates for the importance of discussing mental health, this time he’s delved explicitly into his own experiences, writing his most brutally personal lyrics to date.

  5. Better Below
  6. The Agonist
  7. Quake
  8. Gods & Machines
  9. Voice & Truth
  10. Cold Sleep
  11. Dark Infinite

Dani says that:-

“This album is for me as well as for the fans. It was a cathartic process to address some of the darkest moments I’ve had in my life. For some people it’ll be a hard listen. But I thought I have to do this, if I’m going to go in, I’m going to go in. I’m not doing something half arsed. There is nothing lyrically I would change on this entire album.”

When Dani began writing the concepts for Cannibal, while he had penned tracks about his mental health before, this time things were different. Dropping all metaphors and opaque sentiments, he’s addressed things head on, hoping the album’s unapologetically frank approach will help people who are struggling to understand that they aren’t alone.

“I wanted to live by my words. I talk to people about normalising mental health (Dani has facilitated Safe Space Sessions up and down the country during tours, alongside mental health professionals), so how can I write an album where I’m not talking about mental health? The normalisation of mental health is what saves lives. I want people to see the light in the dark. If they delve into that they can find solace in the discussion, the normalisation, the positive action by discussing this.”

Lyrically, there’s an apocalyptic feel to Cannibal. While tracks like Quake and Better Below go deep into Dani’s lowest moments, the album also explores the impact of social media on Gods And Machines as well as what he refers to as “society’s oppressive, horrific nature”.

“The term Cannibal refers to being eaten away by your own thoughts but also eaten away by other humans,” he explains. “We’re not kind to ourselves, let alone kind to each other.”

While Cannibal is very much Dani’s story lyrically and thematically, the rest of the band are also on the form of their lives. The title track is a clear nod back to the anthem of Black Flame’s standout title-track and tracks like powerhouse opener Choke, The Grey (VIXI) and Imposter are classic Bury Tomorrow, metallic maelstroms of churning riffs and expansive choruses. Elsewhere though, the band have taken more risks than ever before, adding depth and shade to their ever-evolving sound. Quake ebbs and flows, swelling and simmering like a seething volcano and a techy edge cuts through the icy melody of Cold Sleep. And for all the album’s dark ruminations, atmospheric closer Dark Infinite ends on a melodic high, a surging soundscape which sounds like the band are ready to take on the world.

Work on Cannibal started almost immediately after the band released the deluxe version of Black Flame in June 2019 and was completed partly on the road. Soon after, the band headed to the studio, recording drums and rhythm guitars at Middle Farm studios, in South Devon, with the remainder of the album recorded at Vale studios in Worcestershire. Putting into practice the lessons they had learnt when making Black Flame, the band tore into, rewrote and scrapped any tracks that weren’t up to scratch.

While the process was far from easy and pushed the band musically and emotionally to their limit, there’s no doubt that this is their best and bravest album to date. Now 14 years into their career, Cannibal will be the album that takes Bury Tomorrow to even greater heights. 2020 will be their year.

“I want it to grow our fan base and capitalise what we did with Black Flame,”
says Dani. “Black Flame connected with a lot of people. I want Cannibal to take us to a new part of our career. It’s a great starting point for a discussion, I’m excited for people to hear it.”

Voidfallen is a new melodic metal band from Finland. They released their debut EP "The Sinners, the Plague and the Voidfallen" late 2019 and have gained great momentum since. Debut album is scheduled to be released during 2021.

Check the music video: https://youtu.be/Xc9s8q4eaYc

"The Daughters" is the first of two singles that are to be released in the spring of 2020. Alike the EP also this release will feature a music video. The song itself starts out very fast paced and fades out to a dark but beautiful atmospheric outro. Throughout the song the listener is taken relentlesly forward through the story accompanied by the strong vocals. The song is mixed by Juhamatti Kauppinen of ShedStudios and mastered by the legendary Mika Jussila of Finnvox (Children of Bodom, Nightwish).

Bands comment:

"The lyrics tell a story of real life that has been raised into more theatrical proportions. As usual we are not going to go into details what exactly the song is about to us. We want to leave the listener the freedom to create their own visualisation of it, what it means to them."

Voidfallen signed a booking deal with Heavy Metal Heart Agency at the end of the year 2019 and are preparing for the new releases and shows of 2020.

ABBA-Metal pioneers Amberian Dawn just released their third single, the title track “Looking For You”, along with an official video via Napalm Records. In a nutshell, this high voltage fusion perfectly represents the upcoming album and its poetic sound.

The official video for “Looking For You" aesthetically mirrors the conflict between memories, desires and leaving your ancient life behind. Monumental melodic vocal lines that remind of the Swedish pop giants ABBA pair with strong keyboard-driven, 80’s pop influenced sounds and merge with heavy drums and guitar riffs into an impressive genre-fluid creation. This addictive mix can only be described as follows – Finnish ABBA-Metal at its finest! Amberian Dawn developed their style and spiced it up by entering and creating a new musical universe.

Tuomas states:

”This is the Crown Jewel of the album. This song is exactly what so-called ABBA-Metal is all about. Haunting and dramatic keyboards, strong melodies and tons of vocal tracks. I worked closely with Finnish synthesizer artist Kebu to achieve this wonderful vintage keyboard sound. I let myself go into world of 80’s synthesizer music and then my band mates helped me to arrange the song into an Amberian Dawn-song.“

Listen to the title track “Looking For You” and watch the video HERE

Picture

Looking For You, out on January 31, 2020, proves that ABBA and metal do not mutually exclude each other. Amberian Dawn is navigating into a new style, which is even more melodic, keyboard driven and not only a sophisticated symbiosis but yet their own style: “Melodic ABBA-Metal from Finland”. The new album is packed with well-polished and immaculate songwriting, full of catchy melodies and epic keyboard parts that immediately send shivers down your spine.

Pre-Order the new album Looking For You NOW!

The multi-faceted and emotional lyrics provide a suitable background for soaring guitars and elegant classical interludes: a highly addictive cocktail that is topped off by a cover version of ABBA’s “Lay All Your Love On Me”!

With their musical style changing from power metal to symphonic metal over the last few years, Amberian Dawn are now navigating into yet another new style, which is even more melodic, keyboard driven and influenced by the Swedish band ABBA. Therefore, they’ve been working closely with award-winning Finnish artist Kebu for over a month to create the ingenious keyboard sound that can be heard on the recording.
