Dutch extreme metal outfit Autarkh are now releasing the first track, 'Turbulence' from the upcoming debut 'Form in Motion'. The new album will be released on March 12, 2021 and pre-orders are now live HERE. Listen to 'Turbulence' via the official Season of Mist YouTube channel HERE. The link may be freely spread throughout your channels. Founder Michel Nienhuis comments:- ‘Turbulence’ is a song about an ongoing realization and understanding of internal conflict. Change is necessary and inevitable but seems unattainable and out of range. ‘Turbulence’ is the first full blown song of the album and is quite representative of the Autarkh sound – up-tempo blasts versus downtempo grooves, locking harmonies versus chaotic dissonance and ethereal layers versus dark growls. This visualizer is the result of a first experiment of our producer and sound designer Joris Bonis with his analogue oscilloscopes from the 1970’s, that generate images based on audio. We invite you to join in on this new chapter of our musical evolution.
Autarkh have previously revealed the album cover for 'Form in Motion', and can be viewed together with the album details above. From the fertile grounds of Tilburg rises new contemporary metal outfit Autarkh, a group of musical extremists dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the auditory senses. Autarkh is the brainchild of Michel Nienhuis, founding member and composer/guitarist of Dodecahedron. Dodecahedron released 2 albums on the French record label Season Of Mist in 2012 and 2017 and has played at Inferno festival (NO), Reykjavík Metalfest (IS) Brutal Assault (CZ), Roadburn Festival (NL) and Eurosonic (NL) amongst others. Death and illness was closing in on Dodecahedron, triggering a conceptual transformation that was necessary to effectuate Nienhuis’ artistic development. In the fall of 2019 Nienhuis teamed up with producer Joris Bonis (Dodecahedron, Ulsect), guitarist David Luiten and electronic composer / producer Tijnn Verbruggen, a set of musicians with backgrounds ranging from metal to techno. Autarkh’s first full length album ‘Form In Motion’ will be released the 12th of March 2021 through Season of Mist records. Autarkh takes a unique position in the world of extreme metal. Synthetic, IDM-style beats and glitch effects - reminiscent of those produced by artists such as Aphex Twin and Autechre - are perfectly balanced with overwhelming riffs and vocals that range from dark growls and exasperating screams to semi-clean harmonies. Together with fluttering blast beats, dense bass lines and eerie soundscapes these elements produce an intense and crystal clear tunnel of sound where the energy of contrasting emotions is constantly felt. ‘Form In Motion’ feels like an evolution in both sound and lyrical content from the two albums Nienhuis released with Dodecahedron. Musically, because of the radical approach the band takes with their rhythm section; lyrically because the album is more about a personal experience of human nature and the nature of the universe. The album takes us from unravelling storms and destructive chaos to transformation, liberation and fundamental shifts in understanding in order to align with the divine. That progression is also present in a linear sense – the intrusive uneasiness the album starts with gives way to a sense of epic victory towards the end. Give yourself the opportunity to dive into this radical exploration of sonic and spiritual ideas and allow yourself to get inspired by what Autarkh has to offer. Dutch symphonic metal giants Epica recently announced the release of their new album "Omega", out on February 26th 2021 via Nuclear Blast. "Omega" is the band’s first studio album in five years. Last month, EPICA also revealed the first single and video clip from the album, titled 'Abyss Of Time', which was viewed on YouTube over a million times within its first week. Today, the band reveal a video for an acoustic version of that single. Watch the clip here: https://youtu.be/tpy-KdtLsZY Keyboarder Coen Janssen comments: "For the Omega release we rewrote 4 songs into acoustic versions. This is our way of relaxing after a period of working hard and intense on heavy music. Being able to wind down and see if the songs still ‘work’ without all the bombast feels like coming home. It also enables us to explore other musical styles than metal and challenges us to be creative in a different way than we are used to. Enjoy our first single “Abyss of Time” as if it was played in an Irish Pub while enjoying a nice pint with all your friends!!" They’ve always been searching for… The Purge” Dutch powerhouse Within Temptation have released the video for their brand-new single ‘The Purge’, which sees frontwoman Sharon den Adel search for self-redemption.
The track is a full-throttle rock song, heavy and dramatic with an addictive chorus, and contains elements of the classic Within Temptation sound, whilst pushing forward into new sonic territory and has received an amazing response from international press. Adel offers her thoughts on the new single:- “The Purge’ revolves around self-reflection and a search for redemption. No one gets through life without scars or without inflicting them on others and there will always be moments in your life you start questioning your choices. You start realizing you've made mistakes, causing harm to not only others but also to yourself. To confess, to acknowledge and to accept these mistakes, can be a very painful process - however, inescapable when the burden becomes too heavy.” ‘The Purge’ follows the release of ‘Entertain You’ - a song that marked the beginning of a series of digital single releases and exceeded all expectations. ‘Entertain You’ peaked at #1 of ‘Most Added Songs’ in the Billboard Mainstream Rock Indicator Chart and debuted in the Top 50 of the Mainstream Rock Charts in the USA. The song also garnered airplay on over 40 leading radio stations across America and became a European hit. It’s also had a fantastic reception in the UK with fans and media alike praising its dramatic new sound for the band – with the single proving an airplay hit on rotation at Kerrang Radio, as well as the band featuring in the UK rock press. Simone Simons comments: "Finally we can show you the video for our newest single 'Abyss Of Time'! We flew all the way to Poland to work with Grupa 13 for the first time. Shooting videos is one of my favourite parts of creating the visual side to our music. The costumes were insanely beautiful. It was so much fun and I hope that you like the video'. The band also kick off the pre-order for "Omega", that will be available in the following formats:
Pre-order the album in the format of your choice, here: http://nblast.de/Epica-Omega Pre-save: http://nblast.de/EpicaOmegaPreSave About the new album, Mark Jansen comments: "I am very proud of this album, as I am convinced we have written a very refreshing and well balanced album even after so many years of existence. Our strength is that we have many great songwriters in one band. We have managed to combine each other's strongest qualities and selected the best songs. It was a fruitful period of spending time together to work as one team on those tracks. I think this has made the biggest difference compared to our previous albums. Still using the advantages of comfortably sending files by the internet to each other but combining that with coming physically together again to work on all the tracks. I think I have listened to "Omega" about 50 times already and still can't get enough of it!" Unusually for rock stars, they actually have a scientific background: Mark has a master‘s degree in psychology (Maastricht University, Netherlands) while Alexander has a master‘s degree in history (Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia). On top of that, they are both interested in non-conventional disciplines, such as cold healing, bioenergy, esoteric, etc. The discussion promises to be very interesting and highly intellectual. The approximate topics include: - Music (obviously mainly Symphonic Metal) - Music business (how to promote your band during lockdown) - Psychology - History (including alternative history and ancient advanced civilizations) - Health (including alternative health practices) - Magic & the occult - The Current world situation - And many other things It is really hard to predict what two metalhead intellectuals might talk about… FANS WILL BE ABLE TO ASK QUESTIONS IN THE LIVE CHAT AND GET ANSWERS IN REAL TIME. This promises to be the most intriguing online chat during these interesting times - you surely want to be there! The Dutch masters of horror are back with their most flamboyant album so far. On 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus', Carach Angren resurrect the gruesome story of troubled soul ‘Conrad Dippel’; the inspiration of Mary Shelly’s novel 'Frankenstein'. Carach Angren have extended all the sonic colours on their established palette to dazzling effect. Their trademark whipping guitars are weaving harsh melodies and sinister soundscapes, which are beautifully contrasted by opulent keyboards and majestic orchestrations. That Till Lindemann (RAMMSTEIN) and Peter Tägtgren (PAIN) have called upon the composition talent of Clemens "Ardek" Wijers is a telling sign of his outstanding mastery of the craft. Another signatory counterpoint is provided by Seregor's fierce rasping and shrieking vocals. Adding to the impact, Namtar has become a relentless driving force with his hart hitting yet intricate drumming. Each track on this album is a highlight on its own, while combined 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus ' simply shines. www.facebook.com/carachangren ww.instagram.com/carachangrenofficial www.carach-angren.nl Enzo And The Glory Ensemble unleash new Video for "Try To Put In Pit The Fear" featuring Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land). Enzo and The Glory Ensemble’s stellar line-up includes Enzo Donnarumma, Marty Friedman, Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land), Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Warlord), Gary Wehrkamp & Brian Ashland (Shadow Gallery), Nicholas Leptos (Warlord, Arrayan Path), Derek Corzine & Amulyn Braught Corzine (Whisper from Heaven) , David Brown (Metatrone), Alessandro Battini (Dark Horizon), Maria Londino and Francesco Romeggini (S91), Mr Jack, Claudia Coticelli and Clara People. In addition to this out-of-this-world line-up, bass player Philip Bynoe (from Steve Vai’s backing band) joined the Glory Ensemble for the new album. Lasting over one hour across 13 tracks, ‘In The Name Of The World Spirit’ will be definitely a must-have for all those who are into progressive metal with ethnic influences. This final chapter of the trilogy is a bridge between the western and the eastern cultures, besides a huge step towards a top-notch production. The balance between the instrumental parts and the vocals are now improved, while the ethnic arrangements are driven by the magnificent Weza Meza Choir ensemble from Congo. Once again, thanks to the massive choir section, ‘In The Name Of The World Spirit’ sets a new standard into the so-called “Gospel Metal” scene. Adding to the impact, Namtar has become a relentless driving force with his hart hitting yet intricate drumming. Each track on this album is a highlight on its own, while combined 'Franckensteina Strataemontanus ' simply shines. CARACH ANGREN set out to tell ghost-stories with a set of paranormal cases recorded on the demo 'The Chase Vault Tragedy' (2004). This was soon followed by the official release of the 'Ethereal Veiled Existence' EP (2005) as a prelude to the haunting 'Lammendam' (2008). The Dutch had a clear vision of combining a dark baroque style of metal with horror based lyrical concepts. Their second full-length 'Death Came through a Phantom Ship' (2010) witnessed the band setting sail to bring their eccentric and capturing live performances to audiences and festivals all over Europe. In the wake of third album 'Where the Corpses Sink Forever' (2012), the haunting had reached the Americas and started to spread rapidly. This record added a serious side to the lyrics of CARACH ANGREN. While firmly remaining in the horror genre, their tales revolve around the evils of war. This mature streak was taken a step further with the fourth full-length 'This Is No Fairytale', which is on the surface a darker variation of the "Hansel and Gretel" story from the Brothers Grimm collection, but also deals with the too real topic of child abuse in a dysfunctional family. With ‘Dance And Laugh Amongst The Rotten’ (2017), the band returned to pure story telling with episodes that are centred on a girl playing a little too long with her Ouija board. Now, Carach Angren return with the monster ‘Franckensteina Strataemontanus’, where the Dutch have pushed their unashamedly theatrical style to a new intense height. You do not believe us yet? Press play and have your soul transferred with this new elixir of life! www.facebook.com/carachangren ww.instagram.com/carachangrenofficial www.carach-angren.nl Dutch Death Metallers Grim Fate have just revealed details for their debut album which will be entitled "Perished in Torment" and will be released on April 7th, 2020 through Xtreem Music on CD and 12"LP formats.
