Progressive Metal Band Shokran has released their newest full length album, "Ethereal". Released on February 8th, Ethereal immediately blew fans away, debuting at #2 on the U.S iTunes Top 100 Heavy metal Albums. "It's been a while since our last release, *Exodus*. We took our time, we honed our musical skills, and we are very proud of the end result! Our new CD, Ethereal is the most mature and complex album in the history of Shokran, we set out to deliver those next level feels" - Shokran Shokran started as a Groove/Djent/Oriental Metal solo project by Dmitry Demyanenko in 2012, with the debut EP Sixth Sense. In 2014, the solo project transformed into a full-time band, and Shokran released its debut album Supreme Truth followed by extensive Russian tours & critical acclaim. As the group found their footing, there was a change in the line-up, and they were joined by their current singer, Andrew Ivashchenko, and bass player Valery Yushkevich. The band was set to release their 2nd album entitled Exodus in 2015 but delayed the release after receiving interest from several record labels including Sumerian Records. During the negotiations, no agreements were ultimately reached, and the band decided to release Exodus on their own in September 2016. It was a conceptual work, that describes the 10 Plagues of Egypt, each song on Exodus tells about each Plague. The record took the band to an altogether higher level. Shokran gained new fans around the world, reunited with their original bass player Rodion Shevchenko, completed several more tours and began to compose their latest album ETHEREAL, which was released on February 8th, 2019 and debuted #2 on the U.S iTunes Top 100 Heavy metal albums. On July 6th, Lebanese Metallers Phenomy performed at Metalhead Meeting 2018, in Bucharest, Romania! The band has issued the recap from the festival, read below: "It was the first time we play on a big stage like this and it really took us to a next level. On the first moments it was really intimidating but after the second song when we really realised that the crowd were really enjoying our shit it became like a flow of energy passing from the crowd to us and vise versa. After the performance the reception of the fans was awesome. They really showed us that they knew what it took us to be here it was really a pay off for all the hard work. Then of course meeting people from other bands especially Alexi Laiho from Children Of Bodom, the look on his face when we told him that we were from Lebanon was priceless. Also, sharing our experiences on the road was fun and educative. We are really excited for what's to come!" We said to our record label the first minute we saw this misprint copies (the misprint is at that lack of black where the white colour is at the guns and the all knowing eye). However, this applies to every human on Earth, regardless of their religion.” Ignea mixes melodic metal with symphonic and oriental vibes. So far, the band has released 1 EP, 2 singles, and 1 LP, has gained nearly 4 million views and 26,000 subscribers on YouTube, over 18,000 followers on Facebook, and over 17,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Groove / Oriental Metal artists Shokran have announced the release of their second album Exodus. Exodus tells an ancient story. You'll have a chance to join the times of the Pharaohs' reign, namely, The Plagues of Egypt times, which had persuaded the Pharaoh to release the ill-treated Israelites from slavery, the beginning of the Exodus. Accompanied by the tough riffs, minor harmonic melodies, furious rhythm section, beautiful clean singing and all the lung's power screams, Exodus causes a full-immersion in the antiquity. As a special bonus the CD version of Exodus will be a double CD with the standard album and an instrumental version of the album. Exodus will be released on September 17th Kna'an is a project that was born in the head of the Memmingen's Landestheater director - Walter Wayers. Wayers wrote a complete new play with his modern perspective about the familiar biblical story of Abraham in the land of Kna'an and was looking for someone to fit in writing the soundtrack and songs for this purpose. That's how a co-production between Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land) and Erez Yohanan (Amaseffer) was born. Kobi & Erez, with the help of Orphaned Land's members, composed this special soundtrack consisting ballads and metal songs about all the characters and inner conflicts of the heroes in this complex episode, a story that still reflects till this day the three Abrahamic religions. The concept album “Kna’an” will be released through Century Media Records on August 26th, 2016. Orphaned Land will celebrate their 25th anniversary with an exciting journey into World Metal music which takes you through Russian-Chinese and Middle Eastern metal. All three bands embedded in their own different cultures and yet all brought together in a night of the finest Metal music the world has to offer: 25 Years Orphaned Land: The Anniversary & Very Best Tour 2016

The masters of ‘Samurai Metal’ are back with third album "Metsutan – Songs of the Void", which is set for release on May 20th through Redhouse FMP / Inverse Records. "Metsutan – Songs of the Void" is a complex masterpiece, addictive from the get-go. The band seamlessly fuse traditional Japanese instruments and atmospheres with Scandinavian melodic death making for a captivating listening experience throughout the album’s ten tracks. Vocalist, guitarist and founding member of the band Jouni Valjakka talks on the lyrical themes explored on the album:- “Similar to our last album "Shogunate Macabre" [2014], we move across many themes. We have songs about warriors, spirits, Japanese mythology and more. With this album we touch on a more spiritual side with our thematics... Strong concepts about determination, life, retribution and values of one overall.” The band teamed up once again with talented Japanese artist TOK who not only perfectly encapsulates the band’s visions she also acted as a mentor to ensure the band stays true to the core Japanese themes and concepts they explore on the album. “On this album TOK used a more ethnically authentic approach with the writing of kanji and the whole artwork," comments Jouni. "Such as song names being displayed in old Japanese 'seals'. TOK really understands the spirit of what we are trying to do, and lectures us about the visual aspects in Japanese culture.” “Artwork on this album emphasises the story of the last and longest song on the album 'Bloodred Shores Of Enoshima', which is based on a Japanese mythology telling of a certain dragon and the goddess Benzaiten.” Track Listing 1. 血ノ舞 - Chi No Odori 2. "Metsutan - Songs of the Void" will be released on 20th May 2016 through Redhouse FMP / Inverse Records. www.whisperedband.com www.facebook.com/whisperedband “The main inspiration for the story behind the song lies with the famous World War 1 story called "The Christmas Truce". We were simply blown away from that story. From the way that those holy day songs were the trigger to bring the enemies to co-exist and celebrate together as brothers for one night in No Man’s Land. The next day they just got back to bomb and kill each other. It is an outstanding story that shows us the eternal hope of mankind, the power of music and the tragedy that despite all of that - evil still prevails.” - Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land) on the story behind 'Let The Truce Be Known' In anticipation of their upcoming release, Israeli Oriental Metallers Orphaned Land have premiered a new lyrical video for the song 'Let The Truce Be Known', taken from the band's new 6th studio album, 'All Is One', which will surface on June 24th via Century Media Records.
'Let The Truce Be Known' can be heard on the Century Media YouTube channel here 'All Is One' was mixed by Jens Bogren (Kreator, Amon Amarth, James LaBrie, Devin Townsend Project, Opeth) and was recorded in three different countries: Israel, Turkey and Sweden. Ironically, these countries are Jewish, Muslim and Christian respectively, which strengthens the Orphaned Land message of unity through music. Over 40 musicians were used to flesh out the sound of All Is One, including 25 choir singers and eight classical violin, viola and cello players from Turkey. Further to that the band have announced tour dates across Europe from September to November and will visit France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands and will finish in the UK then Ireland, so see if they are coming to a venue near you!
