_Transcend Music is proud to announce a major restructuring program incorporating new signings and streamlining measures which strengthen it's position as a force to be reckoned with at the business end of Rock and Metal.
The new measures see Transcend absorbing the associated businesses of renowned management companies The Legacy Agency and RMR Management, strengthening their artist roster and offering a variety of unique acts. Coupled with this Transcend Music has also confirmed new signing Malefice who are currently touring the UK before heading back into he studio to complete their third album.
The all new Transcend roster now includes classic acts such as Fields of the Nephilim and Viking Skull, alongside Metal stalwarts like Sacred Mother Tongue, Malefice and recently reformed Bossk, mixing it up with some of the hottest new acts on the scene in the shape of The Dirty Youth, Heights and Heart of a Coward.
Transcend head honcho Rob Ferguson said of the changes:
"We recognise that the music industry is changing, and our business model has been re-drawn in order to embrace these changes. The focus of our business is the talent we are nurturing and we firmly believe that our current roster represents some of the very best in classic and contemporary Rock & Metal artists. We are not a record company in the traditional sense and we are not just a management company. We are a total music company offering positive solutions to enhance, encourage and grow the careers of those who work with us. We have an amazing team of fiercely passionate and enthusiastic individuals who are ready to take on the World!
The rumour is that the UK, Europe and Canada offices of international sub-label Roadrunner Records (owned by the mega-huge Warner Music Group) is being shut down, this is possibly seen as a financial decision following potential setbacks through profitability, however there is the other view that due to the excessive availability of downloading in the aforementioned regions, WMG decided to pull the plug, with the current international economy in a dire situation as it is this is another blow to the music industry. Sure there is going to be beneficiaries along the way but in hindsight the slumber of fresh talent may have all but paved the way for this collapse to occur. The suitable irony of this situation is that many other internationally based record labels like Nuclear Blast who have head offices in Germany, USA and Brazil; with reps in UK, Japan, Australia and South Africa (the latter being their latest addition) have not felt the pinch that Roadrunner has felt albeit the ownership in question. Whatever the reason for WMG's sudden swipe of the axe, it is surely going to be very quiet with the international presence now vacant, vanished - let alone allowing American dominionism to continue to develop. Global Metal Apocalypse fully backs all those affected and offers tremendous support to those bands unfortunately having to be dropped from the label.
