Greek melodic Power metal masters Firewind, the group led by guitar-wizard and Ozzy Osbourne band member Gus G., are proud to announce the release of their upcoming 8th studio album, 'Immortals', which will be released on January 20th, 2017 via the band’s long-time label partner Century Media Records in Europe. Gus G. checked in to comment about 'Immortals' and its artwork (which can be seen above!) as follows: “Today we're very happy to reveal the cover artwork for our 8th studio album. It's titled "Immortals" and it's the first concept album Firewind has ever made. Since we're from Greece, we thought it would be a cool idea to make a concept of Greek history and heritage. So, on this album we focused on the legendary battles of Thermopylae and Salamis during the 2nd Persian invasion of Greece in 480 BC. The artwork was once again created by our long-time collaborator, Gustavo Sazes and we feel it reflects the vibe we tried to capture on this album - Epic, Powerful, Glorious, Everlasting.” 'Immortals' marks the first time Firewind used an outside co-producer, working with Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Pink Cream 69), who not only engineered, mixed and mastered the album, but also co-wrote it together with Gus G. Next to the standard jewel case CD and Digital Download formats, “Immortals” will also be released as LP on 180gr vinyl with a poster as well as the entire album on CD as bonus. Additionally, there will also be a limited edition Media-book CD with expanded booklet, a bonus track and 3 stickers. Look out for more details and pre-order details soon… A first album’s online single is set to debut on November 25th, but in the meantime you can already check out a few sample riffs in a play-through clip that Gus G. recorded in co-operation with Toontrack’s EZmix 2 and the Metal Guitar Gods 4 EZmix Pack expansion here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E7SFBKYVcU Gus G. and Toontrack have also launched a regular "Metal Month Masterclass" series of video lessons, of which the first two episodes can be seen here: 1. Death metal legends Obituary have announced Ten Thousand Ways To Die, a special two-song single containing a pair of brand new studio tracks plus a bonus live set of twelve classics and fan favourites from the band's storied catalogue. Recorded in eleven different cities during the band's highly successful 2015 Inked In Blood world tour, the live tracks capture the incredible performances of a band that has stood atop the death metal pantheon for almost 30 years. Ten Thousand Ways To Die is sure to satisfy new and die-hard Obituary fans and will quench the blood-thirst of listeners until the band's new album drops in Spring 2017. Listen to the new single "Loathe" now via this location. Physical pre-orders for Ten Thousand Ways To Die are available at this location with digital pre-orders available here. Additionally, the band has announced a Fall European Tour, The Battle of the Bays, with support from Exodus, Prong and King Parrot. The tour kicks off October 21st in Hannover, Germany and a complete listing of dates is included below. The band commented on the live album saying: "We are very excited about the live songs that we recorded on this last US Tour. Joe Cincotta from Full Force Studio is also our live sound engineer and he had his full recording rig on the road with us so we took advantage of the opportunity and recorded the show every night. The quality was amazing so we decided to include this as part of the Ten Thousand Ways to Die release to give the fans a little Ob bonus! We selected songs from different cities so you will hear the sound difference between each song. Nothing was done to the songs after the live performance recording so it gives you the real, true, unedited "live show" sound and feeling that the fans experienced at each show." Obituary Tour Dates:

Now, the group proudly presents the album’s first official music video for its gripping title track 'Delirium' which was directed by Michael Winkler (iconographic). Cristina Scabbia states: "We filmed our parts for this video in one evening while we were on the US tour this past May. We used a Go-Pro against a black backdrop and we wanted something that would be purposely rough, something that could remind some weird lost videos found after years and years. The whole video edited together with the parts filmed by the director with an actress turned out as a very strange sort of a trip, where a girl tries to tight up memories and details together to try to find her sanity back, somehow. I really like some of the scenes as they reminded me some kind of Korean horror movies vibe and it is totally fitting the ‘Delirium' vibe and concept. It also leaves a lot to the imagination, so thanks for checking it out and enjoy." With the extra two years under their belt, having toured across the USA & then around the UK with Benighted, the band, with new vocalist Bernard in tow, comes back to the fore with a new approach, an impending European tour, and resulting new EP; "It Came To This", out on 5th July 2016. Guitarist Mike Robertson explains that the band has strayed from, "the usual death metal lyrical theatrics of gore / violence / horror / shock and the likes and heads down a more self-analysing approach with a Grindcore appeal." "This is the first born of the experiment," he goes on to state. "It's more about the protagonist's own internal workings, his crippling self-degradation and his drowning uncertainty, than our predecessors desire to slice apart women and shout about blood." Listen To Single 'Isolation Frenzy' From The New EP Here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvld34v6EwE "The recordings were made across a few places. The drums were recorded in Edinburgh at Juvat Studios by our friend JamieT. Immediately after, a few hours down the M6, the guitar, bass and vocals were recorded at Drop The Dumbulls Gallery; a DIY (in the strictest sense and most genuine way possible) bar / venue / practice room / studio / house in Liverpool's old dockside quarter, by the talented producer and drummer 'Trippy Pijin' of Horsebastard fame. The final cuts were then sent off to Tom Dring, drummer of Corrupt Moral Altar, who runs Vagrant Recordings in Southport. He mixed and mastered the sessions, as well as added his own Saxophone playing onto track II. The additional vocals on the tracks, from Chris Reese (CMA / Horsebastard) and Rich Speakman (The Afternoon Gentlemen) were done in their own time, using their own secret methods." The artwork was designed by Californian based Tony Koehl, of Sketch The Soul Studios. "After some to-ing and fro-ing of samples and ideas between each of us, he got back with what I feel is so fitting it hurts," states Mike Robertson. "At first I couldn't quite take it because it was so vastly different from the artists we had worked with before, (especially Costin Chioreanu and his amazingly dark portrayals,) but turns out that is exactly what the EP needed. We are so pleased with how the music, sound, vibe, theme and aesthetic has turned out." "It Came to This" is out 5th July 2016 via Rising Nemesis Records. The release follows the EP’s exclusive stream with Metal Hammer. Recalling writing sessions that would sometimes stretch out over 48 hours without any rest, Clarke comments; “It was easier to keep going whilst we were in the zone instead of stopping and picking things up another time. It’s not ideal at all, but it helped us write the EP, and a nice 15-hour sleep after writing a song was always good. We put everything into the writing process for this release, so it’ll be a proud moment for us when we finally get it out there.” As Daylight Fades – completed by guitarists Alan Ross and Douglas Park, bassist Roland Walet and drummer Cameron Humphrey – geared for the release with a set of UK and European tour dates, from which they cut together footage for their recent video for The Great Divide (here). “What sets us apart from our local scene is the fact that we have the drive and motivation to get ourselves out there,” opines Clarke; “We love writing, we love recording, we love playing shows and most importantly we love music.” As Daylight Fades ‘Love//Loss’ Track-listing: 1.
