Australian Death Metallers Ignivomous premiere new track; reveal details of new album

Australian death metal war-masters Ignivomous premiere the new track "Hieroglossia" through MetalBite.com. The track hails from the band's long-awaited third album, Hieroglossia, set for international release on November 15th via Nuclear War Now! Productions. Hear Ignivomous' "Hieroglossia" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Seven long years after the release of their sophomore album, Contragenesis, Ignivomous return with their third full-length, Hieroglossia, unveiling eight tracks of organic, primal death metal — the kind the band has become synonymous with in its 13-year existence within the death metal underground.

Borne out of the members' desire to see a resurgence of a heavier, more dissonant style of death metal, Ignivomous were among the first wave of bands to reignite interest in the genre in the first decade of this century. Hieroglossia preserves the core membership of the band present throughout its tenure — Sean Hinds (guitar), Chris Broadway (drums), and Jael Edwards (vocals) — and presents the recording debut of Lewis Fischer on guitar (Altars) and Chris Jordon (Inverloch, Eskhaton) on bass, both of whom have cemented the band’s live assault for the previous few years in a campaign of high-profile shows in their native Australia. This lineup in its current form has secured and built upon the band’s unrelentingly legacy, oozing raw, sinister death metal pushed a step further into the void, creating an album which synthesizes the band's influences with a definitive and individual vision. While projecting a murky and atmospheric take on the death metal template,  Heiroglossia avoids sacrificing the primacy of the riff for reverb-drenched formlessness or songwriting in favour of dissonance for its own sake.

Thematically, Heiroglossia continues Ignivomous’ investigation into topics of Philosophical pessimism, influenced by the works of Thomas Ligotti and E.M. Cioran, and Gnostic concepts of the fallen and hostile nature of the material world, presented throughout with a literary sensibility which should be accustomed to those familiar with their previous output.

Chilean Black Metallers Lvxcaelis premiere new track at Black Metal Promotion

Black metal visionaries LvxCaelis premiere the new track "Throne of Doom" at heavily trafficked YouTube channel Black Metal Promotion. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated third album, Maher Shalal Hash Baz, set for international release on October 31st via Lamech Records. A symbiosis of spiritual black metal and its Bathorian antecedent, here LvxCaelis create a shimmering cavern of haunting splendour, of cosmic weight verily crushed with the tyranny of true masters. Mystical and mesmerizing, Maher Shalal Hash Baz is the sound of LvxCaelis at the very peak of their powers. Hear "Throne of Doom," the second track to be revealed from the new album, in its entirety exclusively HERE.

LvxCaelis was formed in the year 2004 in southern Chile by Irad and former drummer Etlidur. The band was rehearsing actively during their first years but faced many line-up changes. In early 2009, their first demo, Nigredo-The Dead Head, was recorded in the form of a rehearsal. This demo caught the attention of Lamech Records, which later released this recording on pro tape format limited to 300 copies. In the year 2011, LvxCaelis entered the studio and recorded their debut album, Mysteria Mystica Maxima 23, released one year later by Lamech Records. This album got a very good response from the black metal underground worldwide. Frater N. joins the band that year as their bass-player.

In 2012, LvxCaelis decided to perform live for the very first time. Their debut show was held in December 2012 in Santiago, Chile. In the beginning of 2014, the band recorded a new demo called Slaughtering of the Lamb, which was meant to be an advance for their upcoming full-length. This demo was released by Lamech Records on pro tape format and limited to 300 copies. All copies sold out very fast, and it got great response, as well. In the same year, Irad travelled to Sweden to record the new album and perform a few exclusive dates - this time, integrating members of Hetroertzen for the live performances. The Watchers, the band's second album, was then recorded by Irad and Deacon D. on drums and released by Lamech Records in 2014.

In 2015, LvxCaelis was invited to join Hetroertzen on their US mini-tour. This was the band’s first time performing on North American soil, and they got a great response there. Between 2017 and 2018, LvxCaelis focused on preparing material for a new album. During this time, the line-up was completed by the addition of drummer Frater B. Later in the autumn of 2018, LvxCaelis joined Hetroertzen and Sektarism for the "Lvx in Tenebris" European tour where they performed 10 dates over several cities of Europe. After the tour was over, the band travelled to Västerås, Sweden to record their third album, Maher Shalal Hash Baz. Recorded at Lamech Studios by Deacon D., Maher Shalal Hash Baz clearly shows LvxCaelis' musical refinement after 14 years of existence: a vast and visionary work that stays true to the band's original tenets whilst pushing its boundaries ever wider.

In the meantime, hear LvxCaelis' "Throne of Doom" - the second track to be revealed from their forthcoming third album, Maher Shalal Hash Baz - in its entirety exclusively HERE, courtesy of Black Metal Promotion. French Prog Metallers Mantra premiere new single "Mind"

French Prog metallers Mantra released a new single from their upcoming album "Medium", set to be released on October 18th via Finisterian Dead End.

Entitled "Mind", the single is a 17 minute long opus that together with its other half explores the body-mind duality along two epic 17 minutes tracks ("Body" and "Mind"), independent from each other but complementary. Superimposed, these two pieces give birth to a third one: the harmony of the body and the mind.

You can listen to "Mind" at this location: https://youtu.be/1qMN_wwdHpk
The new single was premiered in different countries:

Portugal: https://metalhammer.pt/mantra-mind/

The Netherlands: http://www.dutchmetalmaniac.com/2019/10/exclusive-dutch-premiere-mantra-mind/

France: https://www.metalorgie.com/dossiers/1890_Ecoute-Exclusive-Mantra_Mind

Free spirit of the French metal scene, Mantra have been exploring the boundaries of progressive music for nearly 10 years. Ritual-like atmospheres on stage, shamanic or metaphysical concept-albums: the band cuts loose to give life to genuine shows, and goes as far as incorporating contemporary dance into its appearances on stage.

The quartet, now scattered around France, unveils in 2019 its third album, MEDIUM, a project that once again pushed its limits. Is the body inseparable from the mind? What remains of us after we die? With MEDIUM, Mantra questions the very meaning of life and touches on a form of total art, crystallizing the interactions between reason and spirituality.

As the underlying theme in MEDIUM's design, the complete superimposition of both sides of the vinyl prompted the group to innovate at every stage of its production: composition, arrangements, mixing and even mastering gave in to the exercise, turning this record into an extraordinary experience, where modern metal reconnects with the irresistible will to innovate of his ancestors.

With nearly a hundred shows behind them, including two appearances at Hellfest, Mantra has become in a few years one of the spearheads of the progressive scene. The album "Laniakea", published in 2016, had marked the spirits by its ability to blend violence and softness into a prehistoric tale. MEDIUM sees the band fully assume its role of precursor, offering a record without any compromise, forever insensitive to conventions and standards.

Cello Metal veterans Apocalyptica return with their stunning new single 'Ashes Of The Modern World'

4/10/2019

Picture

Bristling with an epically baroque life and energy, Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rockers Apocalyptica have unveiled their brand new single ‘Ashes Of The Modern World.’ The song is taken from Cell-0,  their upcoming ninth studio album, released on January 10th via Silver Lining Music.

The powerful video was directed by the award-winning Finnish photographer/videographer Ville Juurikkala who has worked with a wide variety of prominent artists from Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith to opera singer Andrea Bocelli.

The recording of Cell-0 followed a four-year break between albums that gave the band - Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, Paavo Lötjönen, and Mikko Sirén, all of whom are classically-trained musicians - a fresh perspective and affected the way they approached the new music. The album sees them return to their roots and is the quartet’s first instrumental album in 17 years, finding Apocalyptica challenging themselves to discover new flavours and colours in their respective instruments.

“It is tough to express without lyrics, but in Cell-0, we found particles of our universe previously unknown to us,” they explained. “Millions of notes combine to create music just as millions of cells combine to create life, and when you visualize the whole thing, similar patterns appear.”

Produced by Apocalyptica, mixed by Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, Metallica and Black Sabbath), and recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Cell-0 sees the band soaring into ethereal space on ‘Ashes Of The Modern World,’ while diving head-first into aggressive thrash cello-riffery during ‘En Route To Mayhem.’

Rather than put strategic attention on aspects like writing singles, the band approached Cell-0 as a fully-formed piece of art, connecting the right details and hues with the energy of being a real cello-metal band.  By pushing themselves to find other places and levels in their music, Apocalyptica opened up to some seemingly unorthodox methods and emotions while travelling through that creative process.

“These new songs have so many layers and are so complex, and it’s not always easy to point exactly what they are about,” Toppinen expresses. “But I think that’s also the beauty of instrumental music, that the listener always can feel free to experience the same songs in very, very different ways. It’s also one reason why we don’t want to explain the songs before they’re experienced.”

Turkish Black Metallers Horrocius reveal first track from debut album

Turkish black metal cult Horrocious reveal the new track "Perceived Integrity of Lord." The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Depleted Light and the Death of Uniqueness, set for international release on October 25th via Osmose Productions. Hear Horrocious' "Perceived Integrity of Lord" HERE at Osmose's official YouTube channel.

Inexorable hatred occurred with the coming together of Godslaying Hellblast, Sarinvomit, and Persecutory members in early 2015. Horrocious started as a two-man black metal band to spread the infernal sounds that symbolize the destruction of the universe under the infinite chaos and eternal dominance of diabolic nothingness, and in this way, they recorded a four-track debut EP, Obscure Dominance Of Nothingness, which was released as limited-edition cassette in 2015 and CD edition in 2016. Later, three new members (C.G. on guitars, E.K. on bass, Alexey on drums) were added to the line-up to record an eight-track debut full-length in the first quarter of 2018.

3. Corruption of Existential Structure
4. Inevitable Vortex.. Swallowed Divinity
5. Perceived Integrity of Lord
6. Hidden in Infinite Chaos
7. Everlasting Fractal Luminiscence
8. Reborn from Energy.. Sublime Demons

On this debut full-length, Depleted Light and the Death of Uniqueness, Horrocious points the egoism and ambition of the divinity and his spatial prison in the thearchia light of his orders when he wanted to be respected, and prepares the ground for an endless struggle. True power of the Lucipherian energy above the spiritual light and embraces infinite sinfulness by rebelling against the incomprehensible secret uniqueness trapped in sanctity. Would it be forgotten that the war of freedom given by the falling angels and the wrath of sealed old evil spirits? From the creation to the scarcity of information, the salvation of humiliated existence will be realized by the destruction of all the things mentioned as goodness, so the control of the worlds was only an embarrassing force, and the irresistible principles and authorities destroyed endless dissatisfaction and the system was designed in stages and the system of interdependence was inevitable. Because this was rebellious son Lucifer’s eternal war against the integrity of all worlds...

Dutch death metal squad Dictated are unleashing the third crushing track entitled 'Taphe' taken from their upcoming album 'Phobos', which will be released on October 25th 2019. 'Phobos' is the follow-up to 2014's 'The Deceived'. With ‘Phobos’, Dictated is leaving behind their known-path of ‘old-school’, and add the purest of misery without the loss of their blast-beat ethics.

Dictated comments on 'Taphe'':-

"We have taken you up high and of the edge with 'Hypso' and plunged you into the vast depth of the sea with 'Thalasso'. Now it's time to let the weight of the earth choke us slowly...'Taphe' (phobia) is also known as the fear of being buried alive. In the history of mankind, this fear became reality for about 2% of the burials. Notable persons in history requested their veins cut or their heart taken out because of this. In some cases people were buried with a string attached to an (above ground) bell; saved by the bell....

With 'Hypso', we have shown sheer brutality and 'Thalasso' took us back to our old death metal roots. 'Taphe' shows another dimension of the diversity that is 'Phobos'. We hope you enjoy this track, as much as we do!

Swiss Heavy Metallers Megaton Sword premiere new track at "Deaf Forever" magazine's website

Swiss metal warriors Megaton Sword premiere the new track "Vulva of the Nightfall" at Deaf Forever magazine's website. The track hails from the band's striking debut EP, Niralet, now set for international release on November 8th via Dying Victims Productions. Hear Megaton Sword's "Vulva of the Nightfall" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Switzerland and founded in 2018, Megaton Sword are ever aptly monikered: theirs is a nuclear-powered style of true-as-steel HEAVY METAL drunk on high fantasy and the enduring themes of conquest and valor, triumph and tragedy. The band's first public recording is titled Niralet, and it arrives as a fully formed document of a young band already capitalizing on their considerable strengths. The quartet - vocalist Uzzy Unchained, guitarist Chris the Axe, bassist Simon the Sorcerer, and drummer Dan Thundersteel - here create five mini-epics that feel far vaster than their succinct track times suggest. Perhaps it's the patient pacing they employ, allowing each bellow of bathos and push of pathos to ring out and as true as possible; perhaps it's the passion and machismo dripping from every element, every drop of blood, sweat, and tears tangible and intense; or perhaps it's Niralet simultaneously sounding timeless and fresh, safely evading both rote "retro" throwback and over-modernity in kind.

We can make references to '80s Manowar, Warlord, and Manilla Road as well as maybe early Running Wild or Nasty Savage, but even this early on, Megaton Sword are being no one but themselves. Wield Megaton Sword and begin the quest to Niralet!

Australian Death / Doom crew Carcinoid premiere new track at NoCleanSinging.com

Australian death/doom cult Carcinoid premiere the new track "Sickness" through NoCleanSinging.com. The track hails from the band's striking debut album, Metastatic Declination, set for international release on October 7th via Memento Mori for the CD version and November 1st via Blood Harvest Records for the vinyl LP version. Hear Carcinoid's "Sickness" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Melbourne, Carcinoid belong to that strain of nefarious bands that could not possibly be given birth to: this is the offspring of a miscarriage, more like. So odorous, pugnacious, and hideous is the music that this quartet belch forth, it verily sounds like a radioactive, cancerous growth bubbling up from a post-apocalyptic landscape; not for nothing are they Carcinoid. Comprised of past/current members of other local underground acts such as Dungeons of Blood, Pregnancy, Reaper, Eternal Rest, Hobo Magic, Xenos, and Spawn, Carcinoid claim to be equally influenced by the likes of Autopsy, Napalm Death, Paradise Lost (early!), Corrupted, Pungent Stench, Obituary, Grief, Carcass, Cathedral (also early!), and Brutal Truth among others. The amalgamation of such foul ingredients results in a putrescent stew where death metal and doom of the filthiest and most crushing order predominates, and sudden blasts of grinding derangement help intensify the vile listening experience. Such is the sound of Metastatic Declination, the band's debut album: no melody, no light, no hope!

Suitably furnished with starkly regressionist cover art courtesy of Necro Frost and with gutsf***ing mastering from Blood Duster's Jason Fuller at Goatsound, Carcinoid's Metastatic Declination is truly a record for only the sickest and most hardened ears - if you're a false, do no entry! Memento Mori's CD version will also include as bonus tracks the band's 2018 demo.
