Sludge metal band Hollow Leg have released their new song "Hunter and the Hunted" over at Doomed and Stoned. The song is taken from their upcoming album Civilizations which will be released in January via Argonauta Records. Listen to the song here: https://doomedandstoned.com/post/181221529778/hollowleg Pre-order the album here: http://www.argonautarecords.com/shop/en/home/306-hollow-leg-civilizations-lp-cd.html Hollow Leg is the sort of demented sludge behemoth that makes the faint of heart tremble and shake. Having emerged from the Florida swamps, this isn’t just another heavy band trying to suck at the teat of a bloated scene. Rather these Psycho Las Vegas veterans have made a name for themselves as weathered professionals, both on the road and in the studio. Blending American blues with English heavy metal, Hollow Leg have refined a sound that is coloured with the influences of everyone from Janes Addiction and Faith No More to Eyehategod by way of Judas Priest. Once called, “fluid in its groove and molasses-thick in tone” by the Obelisk, Hollow Leg have been methodical in their tour approach and consistent with their recorded output. This fall will see the release of Civilizations on Argonauta Records, the bands fourth album in eight years and third studio release since 2016. The group recorded it all in their own studio and self produced, eventually being mixed and mastered by Kent Stump of Wo Fat. With huge ambitions and deep roots, Hollow Leg have found themselves playing multiple Maryland Doom Fests. Cranking out crushing riffs left and right in the nations seedy dive bars as well as alongside titans like Amon Amarth and Enslaved, this band is a veritable train kept a’ rollin’. Unafraid to evolve, having even shifted from being a duo to a four piece, this is a group who constantly push for bigger and better things. Greater than the sum of their parts and constantly expanding their sound, Hollow Leg have the drive and ambition needed to become lords of the stoner metal underground. https://www.facebook.com/hollowlegfl

Hamburg-based Sludge and Stoner Metal unit High Fighter have signed a worldwide deal with Italian label Argonauta Records. Currently putting together the final songwriting touches, the band's hotly anticipated second album will be released in the Spring of 2019! Says Argonauta's CEO Gero Lucisano: "Today I'm beyond stoked to welcome High Fighter in the Argonauta family. I remember how their album "Scars & Crosses" has been on heavy rotation here in our head-quarters for many months, and still is an "evergreen" listening these days. Moreover, thanks to the fact they are an hard working band always on tour, I got the chance to see them on stage, where I saw a captivating band with an uncontrollable energy, top professional attitude and awareness of their own means. Speaking with the band, I immediately got we are both moved by the same type of enthusiasm and it'd be such a lack of synergy to not join forces for their new album, which I can already grant it will be totally massive!" After their critically acclaimed debut EP 'The Goat Ritual', self-released in the end of 2014, followed by numerous shows all over Europe including festival appearances at Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, Desertfest Berlin & Antwerp, Sonic Blast, Stoned From The Underground, Up In Smoke and many more, gigs on tour with bands alike Ahab, Conan, Crowbar, Mantar, Corrosion of Conformity, Elder, Downfall of Gaia, Mammoth Storm, Brant Bjork or Earth Ship to name just a few, High Fighter released their first full-length 'Scars & Crosses' in June 2016 with Finland's cult label Svart Records. High Fighter vocalist Mona Miluski comments:- "We have met Gero a few years ago at a show in Italy, and we immediately felt his passion and love for the underground heavy music scene. Over the past few months, I also got the chance to work closely with Gero due to my daytime job in the music industry, and I have probably not met many people like him before in this very tough business. He's passionate but also very professional hard work for versatile, heavy bands not only impressed me but the entire band, when Gero made us an offer we could not refuse. We have and always will be very grateful for what Svart Records did for us and our first album, but musically we feel a step to sunny Italy with a label that represents the direction we currently go with our new album has been a great choice and move. We can't wait to start recording in Berlin at the Hidden Planet Studio with our dear friend Jan Oberg (Earth Ship) in the beginning of 2019, and unleash our second full-length baby with Argonauta Records next Spring!“ Official video – 'Darkest Days': www.youtube.com/watch?v=apMW_u2v8rs Official video – 'Blinders': www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mVD5kl42QI Official video – '2Steps Blueskill': www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEr35ihG4Gc www.highfighter.de www.facebook.com/HighFighter www.highfighter.bandcamp.com www.argonautarecords.com Australian doom/sludge combo Sumeru are proud to present their brand new music video for the song "Embrace The Cold", the second single from their sophomore full length, 'Summon Destroyer', available from October the 26th, 2018 through WormholeDeath/Aural Music (CD/Digital), Mallevs Records (Tape) & Medusa Crush Recordings (Tape). A blackened march of desolation and darkness heightened by aggressive and cutting visuals, ‘Embrace The Cold’ offers viewers a glimpse into Sumeru’s relentlessly intense live show and demonstrates the bands ability to conjure numinous madness against the backdrop of an empty void. Decibel Magazine premiered the 05th track, La Malinche, as the first snippet from the album. “The song explores the mindset of La Malinche, a woman who played a key role in orchestrating the genocide of the Aztec civilisation,” Dirge explain of the song’s lyrical concept. “The evil in her psyche is imagined as a physical manifestation of the ancient Mayan goddess of suicide, Ixtab.”, narrates the band on the track. "The new song “La Malinche” moves at a funeral doom-like pace, dragging itself along on crawling riffs and the reverberating, howling vocals from singer Tabish Khidir. In addition to their sludgy influences, Dirge draw from more upbeat death/doom, offering brief respites from the lethargic pace of the song. It’s a welcome element that ultimately strengthens the song, which clocks in at over nine minutes." – Vince Bellino, Decibel Magazine Stream "La Malinche" At DECIBEL MAGAZINE, RIGHT HERE DIRGE's debut offering "AH PUCH" is a concept album based on Mayan, Aztec Mythology mixed with historical events. The story revolves around the resurgence of the ancient Mayan God of Death - Ah Puch - during the conquest of Yucatan peninsula by Hernan Cortez. The music has been written to accentuate this theme, sending the listener through this fantastical world accompanied by a thick wall of sludge, and clouds of bong-smoke. Though this is the band's debut album, with an ambitious concept behind it, the band are no strangers to the world of metal. Formed in 2014, DIRGE started out as a band in Pune, a city then brimming with several acts in the local metal scene. They were unique from their peers, marked by a sheer dark, moving intensity and gritty heaviness in their music. The band soon found itself a full lineup and trudged forward ever since, winning fans, supporters and accolades over the next four years as a band and releasing a single along the way in 2015. They have played shows in the Indian underground circuit alongside contemporary acts in similar styles, like Primitiv, Shepherd, Djinn & Miskatonic and have opened for international acts such as CHU (Kazakhstan), Defiled (Japan) and performed at festivals like Bangalore Open Air (2015). With Candlemass, Eyehategod, Neurosis, Sleep, Crowbar & Acid Bath as their primary influences, the band naturally found itself crafting a sludgy, grim and morose sound that channelled equal parts death-doom, New Orleans sludge, atmospheric post-metal & the melodic sensibilities of contemporary bands like Paradise Lost, YOB & Pallbearer - literally an amalgamation of sounds spanning three decades of slow and heavy music. Dive into the dark sound of Demande À La Poussière and stream their brand new song 'Le Parfum Des Cites Perdues' right HERE! Says the band: “Le parfum des cités perdues is a track about remembrance and anger against our haunted past. This is a part of rage and heaviness about the strangeness of sad feedback. Music lower and louder than a nightmare. Follow the dark side of our memory...“ Demande À La Poussière is a Blackened Post-Core band founded in 2017 by members of The Great Old Ones, Wurm or Omrade. Members are: Jeff (vocals and guitar - The Great Old Ones / Spectrale), Edgard Chevallier (machine - ex Würm / Gloomy Hellium Bath), Vincent Baglin (Moshi-Moshi-battery), Krys (chant-Nerv / Omrade) and Jiu (Bass -ex No return), the band quickly recorded a first album at Lower Tones Place Studio in September 2017. The band has diverse influences to offer a unique style: Combining the heaviness of Sludge and Doom, the blackness of Black Metal, the intensity of Post Hardcore tinged post rock atmosphere. This music is impacting, encompassing and intense. The name of the band is taken from a book by John Fante, but there is no connection to see it as the deep darkness of the music leads to other feelings. www.argonautarecords.com www.facebook.com/DALPdoom Hailing from Italy, Sludge Metal trio Carcharodon have signed a worldwide deal with Argonauta Records! Their third and hotly anticipated album titled 'Bukkraken' will be released on October 26th 2018. Carcharodon started their journey as a power trio in 2003, inspired by a concept of the Nattero brothers (Boggio & Pixo). The band's intent was to mix extreme metal with the blues and heavy doom tunes. After several demos, split records as well as two critically acclaimed studio albums, followed by numerous shows all over Europe and the States, Carcharodon are getting back to their roots in terms of their sound and while they recorded their best album to date. Says the band: „We decided to get in touch with Argonauta and Gero because this new record means a lot to us in terms of the band's evolution of sound, and we thought it deserved to be pushed properly with all possible means. We saw Argonauta grow fast during these last years and sign a lot of good bands of friends in the heavy genre, so we thought this could be the best choice for us. We asked some of these bands that are now our label mates and saw that they were happy with the label, so we immediately wrote to Gero and we are proud to say that he’s been one of the few who wasn’t afraid to invest in our raw and brutal vision of music and showed the will and courage to support our musical endeavours. After meeting him in person we immediately understood we were talking with the right guy and we are sure we will do a great job together supporting our music vision, which is something hard to describe or tag as a certain genre.. as usually we fit them all and we fit none, but that’s part of being unique! We’re pretty pumped up about the release!” 'Bukkraken' will be coming as CD and Digital Download, and is set for a release on October 26th 2018 with Argonauta Records. Lyrically, the band touches important sociological issues evolving around one main topic: human greed and selfishness, as according to the band, human thinking needs to re-evolve unless we want to live in the world of wars and exploitation. “Re-evolve” orders are active here. Recorded with engineer Jamie Dodd (Orange Goblin) at Flesh & Bone Studio's, Hackney and tracked by Steve 'Geezer' Watkins at Woodworm studios (which has also been used by legendary Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi), ‘Sentinels’ is a colossal sounding record, it’s ten tracks punching the listener with an oppressive towering monolithic sound that batters, but never dulls the senses. “This album is a natural progression from our previous releases,” explains guitarist Ryan Cole. “It has the Desert Storm sound, but has moved in a much harder, darker and heavier direction.” Today we get to hear the first rumblings from ‘Sentinels’ in the shape of ‘Too Far Gone’, a brutal, pounding powerhouse of a track that tackles the bleak subject of excessive binge drinking. “It’s the paradox of hard liquor being both the cause and the remedy of the sickness,” states vocalist Matt Ryan. “Self destruction and punishment of the body. It’s inspired by the tragic tales of Bon Scott and John Bonham, along with fictional characters Ben Sanderson of Leaving Las Vegas and to a lesser extent, Jim Lahey of Trailer Park Boys. It’s a miserable outcome as our song begins with alcoholism and ends in death.” Stream ‘Too Far Gone’ here: https://soundcloud.com/apf-records/desert-storm-too-far-gone/s-oelmn Pre-order ‘Sentinels’ here: http://apfrecords.bigcartel.com/ In addition to the album’s release, the band will be hitting the road hard throughout February, March and beyond in the UK and Europe. Some of the first-person accounts I've read will haunt me for a long time. For a lot of people here, it will be difficult and take a long time to get back to some kind of normalcy or get close to replacing what was lost.
