Years of turmoil separate the wheat from the chaff. Such is the case with Iceland’s Keelrider, who since 2015 have been crafting a stoner metal sound that draws from a broad set of influences. Tastefully fusing everything from southern rock to prog by way of grunge, they place an emphasis on strong melodies and odd time signatures. Rather than adhering to the staid tropes of their scene, Keelrider pushes forward with their distinct take on heavy, guitar-driven music.
Things started picking up for Keelrider in 2018 when they released their debut album North and played their first shows to support it. This led to an invitation onto Iceland’s national radio station (Rás 2) to discuss their music. Later that year they won the Unsigned Showcase Showdown on the world renowned "All Things Metal Podcast." From there the success only snowballed as North was rated the 4th best heavy release on Iceland's only heavy metal radio show, and received coverage from metal music publications worldwide.
With a recharged group of guys ready to take on the world, Keelrider seeks nothing less than to make a lasting impact on the Icelandic heavy music scene. As new music gets written and recorded, there promises to be all manner of growth for the band. With every gear finally in motion, Keelrider promises to be an unstoppable juggernaut. The band is a force to be reckoned with in the Icelandic scene and is ready to make their mark on the worldwide stoner metal scene.
On June 7th, Robustfellow Prods. has released the new album from Azerbaijan's hypnotic stoner / doom metal unit, Pyraweed.
The band has toured Europe for several times, having already performed at Germany's Wacken Open Air.
Their album "Green Jinn" is now released for the first time on CD format with an exclusive bonus track.

Hamburg-based Sludge and Stoner Metal unit High Fighter have signed a worldwide deal with Italian label Argonauta Records. Currently putting together the final songwriting touches, the band's hotly anticipated second album will be released in the Spring of 2019!
Says Argonauta's CEO Gero Lucisano:
"Today I'm beyond stoked to welcome High Fighter in the Argonauta family. I remember how their album "Scars & Crosses" has been on heavy rotation here in our head-quarters for many months, and still is an "evergreen" listening these days. Moreover, thanks to the fact they are an hard working band always on tour, I got the chance to see them on stage, where I saw a captivating band with an uncontrollable energy, top professional attitude and awareness of their own means. Speaking with the band, I immediately got we are both moved by the same type of enthusiasm and it'd be such a lack of synergy to not join forces for their new album, which I can already grant it will be totally massive!"
After their critically acclaimed debut EP 'The Goat Ritual', self-released in the end of 2014, followed by numerous shows all over Europe including festival appearances at Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, Desertfest Berlin & Antwerp, Sonic Blast, Stoned From The Underground, Up In Smoke and many more, gigs on tour with bands alike Ahab, Conan, Crowbar, Mantar, Corrosion of Conformity, Elder, Downfall of Gaia, Mammoth Storm, Brant Bjork or Earth Ship to name just a few, High Fighter released their first full-length 'Scars & Crosses' in June 2016 with Finland's cult label Svart Records.
High Fighter vocalist Mona Miluski comments:-
"We have met Gero a few years ago at a show in Italy, and we immediately felt his passion and love for the underground heavy music scene. Over the past few months, I also got the chance to work closely with Gero due to my daytime job in the music industry, and I have probably not met many people like him before in this very tough business. He's passionate but also very professional hard work for versatile, heavy bands not only impressed me but the entire band, when Gero made us an offer we could not refuse. We have and always will be very grateful for what Svart Records did for us and our first album, but musically we feel a step to sunny Italy with a label that represents the direction we currently go with our new album has been a great choice and move. We can't wait to start recording in Berlin at the Hidden Planet Studio with our dear friend Jan Oberg (Earth Ship) in the beginning of 2019, and unleash our second full-length baby with Argonauta Records next Spring!“

Weed Demon are pleased to reveal their new video for "Sigil Of The Black Moon". The song is taken from the album Astrological Passages which is getting a fresh release on vinyl July 27th.
The band commented:-
"We started working on the video for “Sigil” in August of last year. A handful of setbacks and numerous bowl packs later we finally got around to wrapping everything up. Seeing the final product was like a huge collective exhale for us. It’s no easy task to put together an almost 11 minute video. A huge thanks to Josh Richter for helping to keep the project moving forward. We are humbled and honoured that Decibel was kind enough to handle the premier. Keep it heavy. Keep it hazy. "

European riff powerhouse Heavy Psych Sounds have added one more gem to their brilliant roster, with the signing of German stoner / psych rock craftsmen Mother Engine for their third album to be released this fall. Stay tuned for more tunes!
Mother Engine plays instrumental rock music influenced by stoner and post-rock as well as the trippy psychedelic rock of the 60s and 70s, and indigenous German krautrock. It's no real surprise that the journey of that spaceship actually began on the stage of a big German stoner rock festival in the year 2013. What we talk about is a spirit of DIY, uncompromising endurance, and the strong will to play every single stage. After two records ("Muttermaschine" in 2013 and '"Absturz" in 2015) and appearances at some of the most important stoner festivals like Stoned from the Underground, Freak Valley Festival, Sonic Blast Moledo, Into the Void or Rotormania, it seems like they got their landing permission on the European stages for heavy psychedelic music.
In fall 2017, Mother Engine will release their third studio album "Hangar" and embark on a 6-week long tour through Europe to present their new material.
Mother Engine are:-
Chris Trautenbach (guitar)
Cornelius Grünert (drums)
Christian Dressel (bass)

Canada's 88 Mile Trip releases free EP 'Blame Canada' ft. covers of BTO, Neil Young, Red River and more
Vancouver's 88 Mile Trip are very proud Canadians, they are so proud that they have put together a new 5 track EP entitled 'Blame Canada' covering songs in tribute to Canadian rock and roll music of years past such as Bachman Turner Overdrive, Neil Young, Red River, The Stampeders plus Doug and The Slugs. The best part about this EP besides it all celebrating Canuck music, is that it's available for FREE DOWNLOAD via the band's bandcamp page at https://88miletrip.bandcamp.com.
The EP was created as a fun salute to the greats who laid the foundation for 88 MILE TRIP and other modern Canadian bands. The connection came full circle when, while recording the EP, Doug And The Slugs co-founder and keyboard player Simon Kendall got wind that the band were covering “Tomcat Prowl”, that he came down to the studio to lay down some keys on it.
The band explains the story behind the EP:
"The idea for the Blame Canada EP was spawned while we were on tour promoting our full length album “Through The Thickest Haze”. On our drive from Calgary AB to Cranbrook, BC, a song came on the radio in the van with this incredibly heavy riff that was good enough to be on any of the first four Black Sabbath records. It turned out to be a Bachman Turner Overdrive song called “Not Fragile”. After that we got thinking, if we had never heard this song before, how many other awesome Canadian rock songs have we missed out on. That thought turned into many hours of beer drinking plus record spinning, and eventually the idea to cover some songs we had discovered. We hope that Canadian music fans, young and old alike, enjoy this tribute to some of the best music our country has ever produced."
