Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Greek trio Fortis Ventus for the release of their debut album "Vertalia" on June 3, 2022. Combining symphonic and cinematic elements along with soundtrack influences, Fortis Ventus formed in 2015 and self-released their first ep "Haunted Heart" in November 2017. In early 2018, due to creative differences, the band underwent significant changes. The driving forces that remained were composer, arranger, keyboardist George Halliwell and vocalist, lyricist Nancy Mos. Breathing new life into their work, the duo met Gregory Koilakos who would take on the role of guitarist. Together, the three musicians started recording their first full-length "Vertalia" with Gregory taking on both guitar and bass duties for the album, which also changed the band's metal sound with its film score music elements. Sentimental, dramatic, grand, cinematic, and imaginative, "Vertalia" is a concept album based on a novel-fairytale written by keyboardist George Halliwell. "Twelve chapters for a total of twelve tracks". says, Halliwell. The theme of this fairytale focuses on an imaginary planet called Vertalia, where the main character starts their journey to discover their inner truth and the truth of life itself. Through the challenges they face during their journey back to Earth, they connect with their higher self and take a path to eventually achieve inner peace back towards their homeland of Vertalia. "The audience will be surprised at the intricate orchestrations that hide behind complex melodies on this album. Each person hearing it, will find a glimmer to empathize in every track. We wanted to tell a story and give the listener a variety of feelings and a journey alongside the lyrics." adds the band. Fortis Ventus is recommended for fans of Hans Zimmer, Two Steps From Hell, Epica, Nightwish, and Kamelot. The first single "My Death is My Devotion" off "Vertalia" will be released on March 23rd and available for pre-save at the following link: https://bfan.link/my-death-is-my-devotion The song captures the pain and faith behind the sacrifices for the ones we care, love, and are loyal to. Fortis Ventus is in the planning stages of live performances to deliver an engaging and unique crowd participating visual-acoustic experience. Fortis Ventus is recommended for fans of Hans Zimmer, Two Steps From Hell, Epica, Nightwish, and Kamelot. Rockshots.eu Facebook.com/fortisventusofficial Twitter.com/fortis_ventus

English symphonic folk metallers Bring To Bear unveil new single "Rising Tide" with a lyric video. "Rising Tide" is an adventurous sounding song led by a bold accordion theme. This theme kicks off the song with a feeling of excitement, but as the theme ends the tone changes suddenly to something a lot darker. The verse is growling on top of hard guitars and drums, and the lyrics tell a story of being lost at sea in a dark storm. Accordionist and growler, Ian Tarboton, describes this as being reflective of those moments in life when we feel lost and confused, like a storm raging in our minds. At the end of the verse it feels like the clouds start to lift a bit as lead singer, Izabela Smyt, sings the build up to the chorus. The chorus comes crashing down like pounding waves from the tide, with growling and singing at the same time. Each vocal style carries its own message, the growling calling out from the deepest parts within us, and the singing bringing clarity of mind. It’s a message to listen to the voice of our hearts to find the clarity within the storms we face. As the song progresses it launches into a soaring bridge of strings and singing, followed by a breakdown that boldly declares defiance against the storm and a determination to not be stuck in the confusion of mediocrity. The song overcomes the storm and returns to the adventurous theme that began the journey. Ian Tarboton describes it as being a metaphor for our lives, where we set out on the journey of life and come up against many storms, but by listening to our hearts (what is truly meaningful to us) we rise above the storms and confusion, and we can continue the journey onwards.
Bring to bear is a symphonic folk metal band from England, on an adventure of making metal with meaning and looking to inspire others along the way. The idea came to life during lockdown in May 2020 by long-time friends and bandmates Hristo Nikolov and Ian Tarboton. They quickly put together their first material and set about expanding the clan. One by one the band came together, each with the same desire and a unique set of skills and stories. Bring to Bear combines the ethereal tones of lead singer Izabela Smyt with the harsh growls of keyboard-accordionist Ian Tarboton, using the raw power of drummer Simon Jones as the backbone for a solid metal pack comprising guitarists Hristo Nikolov and Nik Rotas, and bassist Richard Knight. Guitars swap between lead and rhythm, often play-fighting with accordion, to create strong melodies and plenty of opportunities to head-bang. Bring to Bear seeks authenticity and meaning through music that gives a feeling of adventure, discovery, and courage. They love the adventure of going after their dreams and inspiring others to do the same. For Bring to Bear this is the music, but what will their music inspire you to do? Bring to Bear band members:

Canadian epic symphonic metal band, Operus has a new music video for their single "Lost" off their latest album "Score of Nightmares" released through German label Pride & Joy Music during June 2020. The vision behind the new video is that of a journey through an inner self-created metaphoric world of being lost along with the feeling of self-doubt and the inevitable anxiety of running out of time. The video's purpose is to demonstrate that we all need guidance and that although our time here isn’t infinite, what we do with our "sands of time" is the most important. Dutch powerhouse Within Temptation have released the official music video for their brand-new song ‘Shed My Skin’. The music video is released one day before the band’s online show ‘The Aftermath – A Show In A Virtual Reality’ – taking place on July 15th & 16th. ‘The Aftermath’ is an online show fuelled by bleeding-edge technology, enabling the band to do a performance that’s out of this world – literally. The show will take place in four different worlds, in which the band and audience are witness to the aftermath of the destruction of mankind. The video for ‘Shed My Skin’ (feat. Annisokay) previews this highly anticipated online show, which promises to be an audiovisual spectacle with guest singers from all over the world joining the band for striking duets in even more striking settings. For ‘Shed My Skin’, Within Temptation have teamed up with German metalcore band Annisokay. This collaboration has resulted in an absolute bombastic metal anthem. Frontwoman Sharon den Adel comments, ”’Shed My Skin’ revolves around dealing with inevitable changes in life. It is about becoming the person we are meant to be, even if that means losing people we love, but have grown apart from. Real growth begins where comfort zones end and that’s exactly what the song is all about: if we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living.” Listen to the brand-new single ‘Shed My Skin’ (feat. Annisokay) across all major streaming platforms now. |
