American deathcore horde Suicide Silence share NSFW video for "Capable Of Violence"

1/11/2022

Picture

Don't mess with Suicide Silence... you might not live to regret it! The band has dropped the NSFW video for "Capable of Violence." The age-gated video is basically a slasher flick condensed into four-and-half-minutes. And it, well, slays!

  • Blood?☑️
  • Guts?☑️
  • Gore?☑️
  • Guitars?☑️
  • Severed heads?☑️

Watch it here.

"What would it take to make you retaliate?," the band states rhetorically. "Even further, what would make you take a life? Is there ever an appropriate time for violence? We live in a world where these questions are unfortunately answered by many all of the time. An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind, yet humanity continues to crave death and destruction. Are you 'Capable of Violence?'"

As for the blood and guts visual?

"This might be the most Suicide Silence video EVER," the group offers. "We hope you enjoy it. Happy Halloween everyone. Heavy as possible."

Suicide Silence will drop their seventh studio album, Remember… You Must Die, which was produced and mixed by Taylor Young (NAILS, Xibalba, Vitriol…), in the first quarter of 2023. Stay tuned for more — but maybe with less blood and gore than the "Capable of Violence" video.

"I am very excited to announce Wacken Metal Battle USA 2023. The battle this year was extremely successful so we are not going to muck with the formula too much. One change is that I am happy to announce the addition of Salt Lake City to the battle. Who will wear the crown next year? Will San Diego be dethroned? Will Houston come up victorious? Will Akron send the champions to Germany? Make sure you follow the battle and find out who will represent the USA with pride in the battle at Wacken Open Air!

For the last 4 years of battles (2017-2019, 2022), Wacken Metal Battle USA has hosted battles across the country to send one independent metal band to perform at the world’s largest metal festival Wacken Open Air in Wacken, Germany. 2019 saw the festival celebrate its 30th anniversary, but due to COVID, the 2020 and 2021 editions were both cancelled. As the metal community regains its strength, Wacken Open Air 2023 will be the 32nd edition of the festival and will be held from August 2nd to 5th. The 2023 event is already sold out with a line-up that includes Iron Maiden, Megadeth, The Dropkick Murphys, Wardruna, Jinjer, Beartooth, Trivium, Kataklysm and many more. Details here.

Wacken Metal Battle USA is part of an international competition that sees bands from across the country battle each other for the chance of winning their spot among 29 other countries’ champions, and represent the USA in an international battle of the bands at the world’s largest outdoor metal festival: Wacken Open Air. The battles have been hosted at the festival for over a decade giving independent bands the opportunity to showcase their talents to an international audience along with the chance to win multiple prizes.

How it works:

Participating cities will host qualifying rounds plus a city final organized by a local city concert promoter where one band will move forward to the American national final (date and city to be determined). The winner of the national final will move on to perform at the Wacken Open Air 2023 and compete against the winners of 29 other countries in a final global battle. All bands will be judged during battle rounds by respected local music industry representatives.

American death metallers Recorruptor drop new single "Malediction Upon The Holy"

28/10/2022

Picture

Lansing, Michigan technical death metallers Recorruptor are back with their new standalone single, "Malediction Upon The Holy" a fiery cut of brutal and frenetic death metal with a bit of something for everyone. The song comes from the band's split EP, Horrendous with fellow Michigan death metal act Redlord which is out now The band has been at work on their upcoming 3rd album, which is tentatively set for release in the summer or fall of 2023.

  • You can check out Recorruptor - "Malediction Upon The Holy" HERE

Recorruptor elaborates on the release of "Malediction Upon The Holy":-

"Malediction Upon the Holy” is the culmination of all the personal and musical growth achieved through two and a half years of great stress and frustrations. Pairing our own stresses as people together with the unnaturally fucked up string of events that have plagued our society in recent years left us with no choice but to harness our inordinate rage and display it in vicious fashion. “Malediction”, and the forthcoming record, is Recorruptor at our most violent.

Lyrically, the single details the hopeful destruction of radicalized religion that plagues this world. In the light of Roe v. Wade being overturned, my personal hatred for the extremist, cultist behavior of radical Christianity grew to a peak. Recorruptor firmly negates the notion that any one person should heed to the imposed oppression that religious fanatics force upon this world on a daily basis."

Formed in 2013, the Lansing, Michigan death metallers in Recorruptor spent many years honing their craft playing live shows before releasing their debut album Bloodmoon in 2017. In 2020, Recorruptor unleashed their well-received sophomore album, The Funeral Corridor. That album saw the band's music evolve from their earlier more straightforward sound toward a multifaceted approach drawing heavily from black metal, brutal death metal, technical death metal, and melodic death metal.

Like many bands, the Covid-19 pandemic slowed things down in the Recorruptor camp, yet since live shows returned in 2021, Recorruptor has resumed melting faces as often as they can. Playing Rust Fest in 2021 & 2021, and performing at OIGS Fest. As well as playing shows alongside notable bands such as Battlecross, Throne, Hath, Cognitive, and opening on the recent Suffocation, Atheist, Contrarian, and Soreption tour.

Recorruptor is strongly recommended for fans of bands the group cites as influences which include Hour of Penance, Cattle Decapitation, Cannibal Corpse, Aborted, The Black Dahlia Murder, Immolation, and Emperor.

Recorruptor is:

  • Clint A. Franklin - Vocals
  • Seth Earl - Guitar
  • Caleb Susman - Guitar
  • Alex Schmidt - Bass (From Blue To Gray)
  • Josh Moore - Drums (Summon)

American power prog metallers Immortal Guardian issue new single / music video for "Perfect Person"

22/10/2022

Picture

As power / progressive metal band Immortal Guardian continue building their next opus, the group issues “Perfect Person” as the fourth sample of their new work. Recording independently and remotely the quartet is assembling the follow-up to 2021’s successful ‘Psychosomatic’ track-by-track and sharing the material as it completes, along with visually captivating music videos, that again the self-contained group produce themselves.

“Perfect Person” is available now for streaming / download at all digital platforms or watch the video HERE https://youtu.be/MRTrNHlC90A

“I grew up in a very religious Mexican family. It was a big part of our lives, especially every Sunday morning when we went to church,” explains guitarist / keyboardist Gabriel Guardian. “But one day, our pastor had a heart attack while in the middle of a sexual act cheating on his wife and died right there in the church after-hours. It was absolutely bonkers and I remember it really stirred up the moral point-of-views in our tiny Texas town. We stopped going to church after that and really started questioning why we were there to begin with. You see, some Christians had such a bad taste of the church that they left religion altogether and felt lied to and deceived, while others said the Christian thing to do would be to forgive him and move on and find another church. It was super interesting to grow up and watch both sides of this play out. This made a very interesting topic to write about and it definitely fuelled the spark for ‘Perfect Person.’

At the end of the day, it is about NOT over idolizing and over glorifying religious figures, politicians, celebrities, even musicians, and the like. I wonder if that pastor had just lived his life and died a non-religious man, nobody would have been bothered, but because everyone sought this man’s advice every week, got baptized by him, got married by him, and put his words and lifestyle on a pedestal, it made it that much more devastating. Everyone can pin a local ‘icon’ in their minds as a perfect figure that could do no wrong and preach endless golden words when in fact, he is just a mortal man with mortal sin.”

Heavy topics are not unfamiliar to Immortal Guardian whose previous album focused on the COVID pandemic, likely the first full album to be thematically linked to the disease and its effect on the globe and its people. In the past year, Immortal Guardian have revealed three brand new songs -- “Ozona,” “Echoes” and “Southern Rain” forming a basis for their next conceptual piece. The band will continue to share new material as the creative process proceeds building up to a follow-up full-length traditional album planned for 2023. More info will be released by Immortal Guardian and M-Theory Audio in the weeks and months to follow, including new tour dates.

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN is:

  • Gabriel Guardian – guitars/keyboards
  • Carlos Zema – vocals
  • Joshua Lopez – bass
  • Justin Piedimonte – drums

American modern metallers Motive Black releases lyric video for new single "Fight Alone"

8/10/2022

Picture

The Intense new track titled "Fight Alone," from alternative metal band, Motive Black (AFM Records) is out now. Produced by Grammy-winner Nick Rowe (Bloodsimple, Vampire Weekend), the track showcases the vocal prowess of frontwoman Elana Justin, and features Ray Luzier    (Korn) on drums and Nick Rowe on guitar, bass and co-songwriting credits.

"This song is about losing yourself in passion," Elana Justin says. "Attraction is a powerful thing, it can be amazing, but also vicious. It can engulf you, and cloud your mind, but also awaken you in ways you never thought possible. Everything feels dangerous and so alive." She adds: "This song was super intense to create. It’s dark, vivid, and emotional. I felt really raw and almost animalistic when I was writing it. When Ray came in and added drums it brought everything to a new level that I believe only he is capable of tapping into."

Ray Luzier says "Elana’s a very powerful, emotional singer. Her aggressive yet dynamic lyrics are refreshing to hear. I think this record is gonna turn a lot of heads. We really need great, fresh-sounding, new music like Motive Black, now more than ever!!"

The track will be on the upcoming album titled Auburn. Justin says " Auburn is named for my sister who unfortunately passed away. She had beautiful auburn hair. Losing her forced me to reexamine my life and make significant changes. I went through a huge transitional period  which included both ugly and beautiful experiences. The album is a wild ride through that journey of anger, mania, deep love, and self discovery."

"Fight Alone" was produced at the legendary NRG Studios in North Hollywood, Calif. by Grammy-winning Nick Rowe (Vampire Weekend, Lamb Of God, Madonna, Snoop Dogg) and mixed by Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Korn, Papa Roach). Motive Black will appeal to fans of  Evanescence, Delain, Follow The Cypher, The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, New Years Day, In This Moment, Shinedown.

American deathcore mob Lorna Shore releases new single plus age-gated video: "Pain Remains II: After All I've Done, I'll Disappear" - the second part of "The Pain Trilogy"

1/10/2022

Picture

The next chapter in the epic journey of Lorna Shore is upon us, leading up to the release of new album, Pain Remains (due to be unleashed October 14th via Century Media Records): "Pain Remains II: After All I've Done, I'll Disappear". Currently streaming on all digital platforms, the age-gated video (directed by David Brodsky // http://www.mgenyc.com) can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/JFJ5fF7cbE0

The band comments on "The Pain Trilogy":

"'The Pain Trilogy' is a three-part tale focusing on the stages of grief and vulnerability and exemplifying it through a love story. The first song, 'Pain Remains I: Dancing like Flames' begins with the main character becoming enamoured by the person within his dreams. He decides to turn to this reality as a sense of purpose despite knowing that the closer he gets to his goal, the further it seems to drift away. This leads to the second song, 'Pain Remains II: After All I've Done, I'll Disappear'. This is the part where the person vanishes and the main character struggles to accept the pain. He as well wishes to disappear and seeks to throw it all away.

Lorna Shore supports suicide prevention and support. We encourage all to speak to their issues and spark conversations that help and mend us all. National suicide prevention hotline: 800-273-8255"

Don't miss the final part of the trilogy that will unfold when the album is released on October 14th! In the meantime, fans can also watch the previously released videos below:

Southern California progressive thrashers Madrost have released a new track off their upcoming live album, Lost Lives Volume 1. The band teamed with metal site Dead Rhetoric for the exclusive premiere of "Zombie Grinder."

Madrost guitarist / vocalist Tanner Poppit comments on the song:

"This particular version of ‘Zombie Grinder’ showcases it in its beginning stages. The song harkens back to the old days of thrash and is extremely catchy and relentless in its delivery! Especially on this live album, it has stood the test of time as a brutal slab of severe death thrash metal.”

Stream "Zombie Grinder" at this location.

The first in a planned series of live recordings this fall on Lost Wisdom Records. Lost Lives Volume 1 is a throwback to the band’s early days. The album features songs found on the band’s recently reissued full-length debut, Maleficent. American thrashers Ninth Realm release lyric video for new single, "Plea To The Heavens"

28/9/2022

Picture

Maryland-based crossover thrash metal quintet Ninth Realm have released a lyric video for new single, "Plea To The Heavens," which can be viewed at youtu.be/51byp4vW1fQ.

The single is also available on Bandcamp and Spotify.

Ninth Realm will release debut full-length album A Fate Unbroken November 4 on Mercenary Press. The album is a perfect blend of of crossover thrash and traditional heavy metal that represents the band's refined vision.

A Fate Unbroken is a nine-track album that takes the influence of the widest range of heavy metal, 80s-toned thrash, death thrash, and hardcore that the decisive genres have to offer. Not only do the riffs, consistent guitar solos, and blackened vocals take the listener through a whirlwind of Slayer/Demolition Hammer era thrash metal, but the lyricism and quintessential raw fantasy style of their art and themes harken back to a Frank Frazetta / Ralph Bakshi age of pure Sword & Sorcery. A Fate Unbroken, for all intents and purposes, is a Maryland band’s attempt to bring a reunion of heavy metal and hardcore punk back to its raw, old-school roots.

Basing their lyricism and overall theme around the original fantasy realm of Tythorin, Ninth Realm delivers an electrifying synthesis of traditional heavy metal and hardcore punk for fans of both respective genres to enjoy.

Pulling from a range of influences that span everything between blackened thrash to old-school death metal, the music of Ninth Realm rips and tears with a ferocity and cadence that perfectly encapsulates the epic scale and grisly atmosphere of grim-dark fantasy. Between the use of aggressive thrash d-beat and viscerally direct song structure of classic metal acts such as Celtic Frost, combined with the melodic riffage of classic bands like Testament / Mercyful Fate, and an added twist of Cro-Mags/Leeway style crossover, Ninth Realm wields what is perhaps one of the most poignant new sounds to emerge from the metal underground in recent memory.

Sharing a bond for all things heavy metal and high fantasy, college classmates Joey Burke (drummer) and Liam McMahon (lead guitarist) joined forces in the fall of 2018, writing and practicing every week to produce the 2019 demo, Gates of Tythorin. Later adding Jared Henry (bassist) and Ben Hageage (vocalist) to the mix, Ninth Realm solidified their sound with their succeeding 2020 EP, All Hail Treachery. In 2022, to offer a glimpse at what is to come with their debut LP, Ninth Realm released Ondreis MMXXII, a promo tape featuring two songs that both share a track space on the debut full-length record.
