Extreme Metal Music / Rockshots Records is proud to announce the release of Italian death metallers Dying Awkward Angerl's new album "Absence of Light"!
Dying Awkward Angel is a death metal band founded in 1998 in Turin (Italy) by Edoardo Demuro and Ivan Longo, inspired by the Swedish extreme melodic current of the 90's. While many metal bands find inspiration from supernatural sources, myths, and legends, Widow's Peak find influence from true life horror, from the depths of cruelty, terror and pain that man(un)kind so readily descends to.
Widow's Peak is an aural catalogue of carnage, a metallic mausoleum of pain, a sonic symphony of suffering. Their music does not reach for the stars, but rather for the cold void that surrounds them, the darkness that lives in the soul of man. Make no mistake; Widow's Peak’s ferocity is the music of the spears, metal dripping with blood, bile and venom!
Formed in April of 2016, in Calgary AB, Widow's Peak have toured hard, their line-up has gelled, and are now on the cusp of releasing their debut six-track EP “Graceless”.Inspired by Meshuggah, Black Dahlia Murder, Pathology, Beyond Creation, and Cannibal Corpse, Widow's Peak are premiering their second single and video "CBT" via Slam Worldwide at the following link: https://youtu.be/htx_ftqKnow
The band comments:
"CBT (which stands for Cock and Ball Torture) is about as gruesome as it gets, lyrically. It revolves around the fetish some men have for genital mutilation and the people who indulge them in it. The writing process for the song involved intensive research (including graphic videos) about not only the fetish, but the anatomy of the male genitals and various methods of genital mutilation. The lyrics aim to instil the disgust one might experience if they, too, watched someone cut out their own testicles on camera."
“Graceless” is due out April 27, 2018 with pre-order available on the Bandcamp here.
First single "Mother Misery" - https://youtu.be/iQytg3Wy_FM
The band adds:
"We think fans will react to “Graceless” with a combination of shock, disgust, and adrenaline-pumping groove. Each song is very different from one another, and the EP is well rounded enough that fans of any type of extreme metal will find something they like. While the music is technical and the lyrics obscene, there is an underlying groove throughout that ensures the head-banging musicality is never lost.”

Finnish prog masters Sammal premiere the new video "Ylistys ja kumarrus" at Prog magazine's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated third album, Suuliekki, recently released by Svart Records. See & hear Sammal's "Ylistys ja kumarrus" in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Suuliekki continues where the critically acclaimed Myrskyvaroitus left off: not following in its footsteps, but rather taking a turn into uncharted territory, as this was the first time the Finnish band really had to start writing from scratch, after taking a little break, from playing shows and composing. The material never comes too easy, and many ideas are thrown into the "some other project" or "this simply isn´t good enough" bin. Song sketches have to sorta boil in a pot, different ingredients mix, and flavors merge over time, before they can really be called songs, or compositions if you will. On this record, maybe more than ever, each individual band member's musical taste takes center stage at times, without stealing the spotlight from the one thing that's always been most important to Sammal - the song!
The album was in the making for a while, but only the end result matters to the band, and the results are splendid. Throw away your preconceptions and join Sammal on a journey through exhilarating and spontaneous, sometimes joyful, at times sad and dark musical landscapes! Get a glimpse of it in visual form with the new video for "Ylistys ja kumarrus" HERE, courtesy of Prog, the world's premier progressive rock magazine. And hear all of the album exclusively HERE, courtesy of TheObelisk.net.

Almost four years have passed since Persefone unleashed their highly-acclaimed album Spiritual Migration. An impressive tour-de-force of insanely great musicianship that took both the press and the listeners by storm (1.5 million views on YouTube).
With a new guitarist and a new drummer Persefone have now taken their music to the next level with the release of their brand-new album Aathma (ViciSolum Records) in 2017. Aathma was mixed and mastered by legendary producer Jens Bogren in his Fascination Street Studios (Sweden). The album includes the epic 20-minute title-track, with guest appearances from vocalist Merethe Soltvedt and Leprous guitarist Øystein Landsverk. Aathma also features Cynic's Paul Masvidal, appearing on the song 'Living Waves', as well as on 'An Infinitesimal Spark'. The amazing cover art is created by none other than Travis Smith, who shouldn't need further introduction.
Hungary-based electronic/modern metal band divideD have just unleashed a new EP titled “A Hundred Times”. The 6-song digital release includes reworked and live versions of the title song, taken from their debut album Modulus released last November. All songs are available for streaming on YouTube, and can be purchased on all popular online platforms as of 22 March. Four of the songs were accompanied by video clips and can be viewed below.
The mentioned first full-length album also won the award for “best debut album” in their home country.
► divideD - A Hundred Times EP
► The remixes as described by the band:
Lounge jazz remix:
"Sometimes a falling out that leads to breaches in friendship can also unleash creative energies in the band, and this version is a shining example of that. We’ve felt for a long time that A Hundred Times has the potential to work in a completely new approach with a different instrumentation. So when the aforementioned problems prevented us from testing some of the new gear in our home studio, all we’ve left is an acoustic guitar and the mood of American pubs of the ‘50’s - ‘60’s. To crown the performance and deliver a more authentic feeling and scent of cigar smoke and Tennessee whisky, we’ve invited our friend András Schubert to enrich the song with Saxophone."
Campfire / unplugged:
"We’ve always wanted to make a puritan, acoustic guitar-only version of this song, but we’ve always had something more important to do. The ‘Lounge remix’ already introduced the utilization of acoustic guitars, so now re-arranging the vocals is all we had to do to create a version that makes you remember on cold winter days what it’s like to sit beside a campfire on summer nights for a few minutes."
"Belmont and PsyKlone are huge Cadillacs & Dinosaurs fans for at least twenty years, and the whole theme/design of the Modulus album was based on Konami’s classic arcade games, so it was almost mandatory to create a version fitting for the pixel-graphic artwork of the booklet. Belmont approached TomboFry, who’s known for his 8-bit YouTube videos, to make an 8-bit version of the song. He even programmed an additional solo to it. To see a Cadillac with a divideD logo in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by dinosaurs is a dream came true."
"The 2015 version of the song, as it was released originally on our first material. Different sound and mixing than the album version."
"Live recording of the song as it was performed on Stagediving Festival earlier this year. The whole show was recorded with multiple cameras in good quality, and will be released at a later date. This first song is a token to those who attended the event, and a taste of the band’s live performance for those who have never seen us live."

Following the announcement that Ritual Productions has expanded its roster with the signing of Drug Cult - a four-piece occultist doom collective – we now unveil a new video for the opening track ‘Serpent Therapy’, in addition to the debut rite’s track-listing and artwork.
‘Serpent Therapy’ summons you into Drug Cult’s realm of mystic prowess, channelling our deep connection between the spiritual and natural world. Serpentine energy is known for being the vessel to this self-analysis, focused on releasing fears and displacing evil.
Directed by Nat Collins, hypnotic and bewitching imagery of the ceremonial relationship
between spirit, self and nature transmutes into a psychedelic and transformative daze.
Allow the cult to coil around your psyche and watch the full video, now streaming over at Cvlt Nation…
WATCH THE VIDEO FOR ‘SERPENT THERAPY’ VIA CVLT NATION
We also reveal the artwork and track-listing for the self-titled rite, with the artistic vision formed courtesy of The End Collective.
The rite is a 9-track vortex of majestic heaviness laced with an evocative psychedelic haze, whereby classic melodies meld with fuzz-drenched riffs cultivating an enticing potion of techni-colour wickedness. Although a grooving heavyweight tone drives throughout the rite, a darkened presence is forever evident, hexing you into Drug Cult’s realm.
Formed at the edge of Mt. Jerusalem in the hills of Mullumbimby, Australia, Drug Cult is the alchemic workings of guitarist Vin Steele (ex. Wolfmother, Megaritual, Sun Of Man), vocalist Aasha Tozer, drummer Dale Walker (Megaritual, Sun Of Man) and bassist Maggie Schreiber. Their elemental craft has been brewing since April 2015, shaping the vision of a heavy celestial voyage through atmospheric sound connection.
The band's first offering was recorded live at Rocking Horse Studios, Byron Bay during Solstice December 2016, with George Carpenter at the recording and production helm and mastered by Brian Lucey of Magic Garden Mastering.
The S/T rite, with the Ritual Productions imprint, is set to be released this June 1st on LP, CD & digital download. Stay alert for further updates on the stirrings of the cult.

Blackened death metallers Scarificare premiere the new track "Occult Radiance" at Decibel magazine's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated third album, Tilasm, set for international release on April 20th via Helldprod Records. Hear Scarificare's "Occult Radiance" in its entirety exclusively HERE.
A work of both crushing heaviness and mystical atmosphere, Tilasm is the album where Scarificare truly come into their own. Theirs is a sound that skilfully ranges black metal, death metal, and doom alike, never settling for easy categorization nor schizophrenically losing focus. Across seven songs in 45 minutes, the listener is taken on a cosmic ride like no other, each movement as memorable as the last. They say the third time's a charm, and indeed it is for Scarificare with Tilasm.
Scarificare are a Portuguese extreme metal band formed by Crusher (bass/vocals), Sothis (drums), and Quetzalcoatl (guitars) in Oporto in late 2006. The main purpose was - and still is - to make extreme metal music inspired by all cosmic forces, the wisdom of ancient pagan religions, and consequently in ourselves.
In 2007, Inverno joined the band on bass guitar, leaving Crusher totally dedicated to the voice. The band recorded the demo tape Sulphurous Wrath, to be released by Portuguese label Skull Productions. In the beginning of 2008, Sothis leaves the band, giving place to a new drummer named Njord.
In 2009, the band started recording their first album, Perpectual Decline. The album was self-financed and was released on October 9th, 2010. After some live concerts in Portugal and Spain for the debut album's promotion, the band participated in the Portuguese black metal compilation Lusitania Dark Horde II with one original track called "Burning Abyss." In the subsequent months, the band started composing the second album, and during the course of that, Crusher leaves. Since then, Quetzalcoatl has assumed vocals in the band.
That second album, Postulado, was recorded between late 2012 and April 2013, and officially released on October 12th, 2013 by the Portuguese label Helldprod. The bass lines recorded by Inverno closed his participation in the band. Promotional live concerts during the following months were given by some guests on bass guitar. In late 2014, Njord also leaves the band.
During 2015 and 2016, Quetzalcoatl was already composing new music and searching for new band members to keep Scarificare going. In late 2016, Eligos joins the band on bass guitar. At the beginning of 2017, Luis Leal joins the band on drums. During the summer of that same year, the band starts recording their third album, Tilasm, at Hannuman Studios with producer Bruno Silva. The recording process ended in December 2017, and the official release date has been set for April 20th, again through Helldprod Records.
In the meantime, hear the new track "Occult Radiance" exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine. The previously revealed "Crystal Skull" can be heard HERE at Helldprod's Soundcloud. Preorder info can be found HERE.
