The Sacramento-based quintet Graveshadow – who deftly mix symphonic/gothic metal with elements of doom, thrash and epic progressive power metal – have released a riveting new track from their forthcoming M-Theory Audio debut, Ambition's Price, due out April 13. The song “Doorway To Heaven” can be heard at this location: https://youtu.be/2Ea3AS9H-yQ Says vocalist Heather Michele, “When the music for the song was completed, it brought to me feelings of adventure and mysticism. I was reminded of the film "Stargate" from the '90s and based the lyrics off of that. The odd yet compelling combination of ancient Egyptian imagery with a sci-fi twist has been a favourite of mine for years. It was only a matter of time before we included this tale in our catalogue.” “Doorway To Heaven” – which is also now available digitally for stream or download at iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp and other platforms – marks the second advance taste of Ambition's Price. Last month, the group released a lyric video for the new song “Widow and the Raven,” which can be seen at this location - https://youtu.be/sjGsEINzJys A music video for a third song was filmed last week and will premiere closer to the album's release. Graveshadow will perform the new songs live next month when they hit the road for a string of West Coast dates with the Norwegian gothic metal act Sirenia and Canada’s Threat Signal. The group, who just played a successful show in their native Sacramento alongside Iced Earth, has also announced a home-town acoustic performance at Dimple Records (Arden Way location) on Record Store Day, April 21. A local record-release show will take place later that night at The Boardwalk. Ambition's Price is available now for pre-order via the M-Theory Audio webshop (www.m- theoryaudio.com/store). The stunning and detailed cover art was created by Serbian fantasy graphic designer Dusan Markovic (Jag Panzer, Seven Kingdoms, Mystic Prophecy), while the album was produced and mixed by Armand John Anthony (Night Demon, The Fucking Wrath, Gygax), and mastered by Colin Davis at Imperial Mastering (Deeds of Flesh, Decrepit Birth, Origin). “The album title and artwork were directly inspired by events that occurred within Graveshadow over the past few years,” explains the band. “With all the incredible experiences that have come with the evolution of our musical family, a great deal of sacrifice has been given by every member of the band in the pursuit of our dreams. Though the price of our ambition still weighs heavy in our hearts, we are proud of what we have accomplished with this album and are excited by what the future may hold.” “Ambition’s Price” – the follow-up to the group's 2015 debut, Nocturnal Resurrection – features Michele’s powerful vocals that range from operatic highs to unearthly growls backed by crushing guitars, beautiful keyboard melodies, thundering bass, and earth-shattering drums creating a rich and dynamic atmosphere that is ripe for storytelling. Whether it is a tale of personal struggle or of fantastical creatures, the listener is sure to find themselves immersed in a world apart. Having previously toured with the likes of Arkona, Anvil, Night Demon and Unleash The Archers, Gravesgadow is poised and ready to leave a lasting impact within the metal community. With an electrifying stage show and a sound as large as the Dragons of Westeros, they are as talented as they are unforgettable. After nearly 25 years upholding and reinvigorating thrash metal’s grimmest traditions for the delight of the international underground, in 2018 the Ugliest Band in the World will unleash their sixth full length, the semi-self-titled 'Aura Noire', on April 27! With no overdubs or embellishments, the album underscores the band’s potency as a power-trio and reinforces their primacy among thrash’s primal pantheon. The record's first single titled "Dark Lung Of The Storm" is now available & premiering via: PURE GRAIN AUDIO (CAN) | KAAOSZINE (FI) | METAL RADIO (FR) | ROCKING (GR) METAL HAMMER (IT) | LORDS OF METAL (NL) | ETERNAL TERROR (NO) | KVLT (PL) ULTRAJE (PT) | FRIEDHOF MAG (ES) | CRANK IT UP (SE) | ZERO TOLERANCE (UK) METAL SUCKS (USA) "'Dark Lung of the Storm' is the opener on the album. The first sequence of riffs has this come-back vibe to it,though we haven’t come back, we’ve been here all the time. It’s the natural opener on the album." - Aggressor With Aura Noire, a title which quite distinctly resembles their band name, Aura Noir churns through some of the most refreshing, yet nostalgic tracks of thrash metal ever to be heard. The album opens with probably one of the most retrospect of riffs, but suddenly somersaults you into the gloriously dissonant and immersive Aura Noir atmosphere. The soaring and burning shouts of Aggressor intensely glues the otherwise quite varied and playful guitar riffs and drums together, culminating into the essence of thrash that is Aura Noir! Lineup: Aggressor – Bass, Vocals Apollyon – Drums Blasphemer – Guitar https://www.facebook.com/auranoirofficial/ Three teenagers, known as Alien Weaponry, from a tiny town in the small South Pacific nation of New Zealand have managed to capture the imaginations of people all over the world with their unique thrash metal sound and commanding live performances. This in itself is surprising, but perhaps the most unexpected element of all in their success is that many of the band’s songs are delivered in a language that is unknown to international audiences – New Zealand’s native language, Te Reo Māori. Now, Alien Weaponry are ready to release their furious debut album "Tū" on the world. Short for "Tūmatauenga", the Māori god of war, "Tū" also means to stand strong and proud, and to stand for something. The notion is reflected in the album artwork, which includes the tradtional moko kanohi (facial tattoos) of the Māori warrior. Standing for something important is something the band does equally well in English or in Māori. Today, Napalm Records releases the single and video for the song “Holding My Breath” – the first single so far to be sung entirely in English. Watch the premiere HERE! The song was written by Lewis (Vocals/Guitar). In it, he talks about the anxiety of being judged and socially ostracised by peers to the point of being unable to function. "It’s about something that actually happened to me. I felt so bad that I literally stayed in my room and couldn’t bring myself to leave the house or talk to anyone," he says. "I wrote the song at that time, and it was one of the things that helped me work through it, so I hope it will resonate with other people going through similar things." One of the people it has already resonated with is actress Rose van Wylich, featured in the video; who experienced similar feelings of isolation as a teenager. “Holding My Breath” is the first single put out by Napalm Records in advance of Alien Weaponry's debut album "Tū" being released on June 1st. A month later, the band will head to Europe for a 3-month tour which includes the world’s biggest metal festival, Wacken Open Air. Preorder "Tū" HERE! WWW.ALIENWEAPONRY.COM WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/ALIENWEAPONRY WWW.NAPALMRECORDS.COM WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/NAPALMRECORDS The new album from Moldovan group Francis is entitled A Million Years Of Loneliness and highlights many urgent and serious problems of our time; personal, social, political and global, with acute social issues coming to the forefront. The themes of the eternal struggle for the right to “live in the sun”, for the right to be the first, for the right to reach the most difficult and daring dreams don’t leave the listener throughout the entire track list. On a musical side, the material is a mixture of extreme metal and a more melodic direction of modern metal music, as well as interspersed with symphonic and electronic arrangements. The melodic sound came from the influence of bands working in completely different genres: As I Lay Dying, Arch Enemy, Nightwish, etc. Aggressive couplets and breakdowns with melodic choruses are created in the style of Metalcore/Melodic Death and coexist with thrash, death and modern-metal elements. The vocal parts are represented by a combination of extreme vocals with a clean voice, which expanded the creative space for the music’s authors and gave the tracks a striking motif matched by a clear, bright voice. Thus, the recording involved two vocalists. The composition of the texts on A Million Years Of Loneliness involved the whole group agreeing on different opinions in a single concept for each individual song. The special uniqueness of the texts of the album consist of describing the atmosphere of the problems of each topic. Francis offer the listener not only a specific social, philosophical or personal problem, as food for thought, but also an interpretation of their own emotional feelings of a certain situation, thereby motivating the listener to intuitively comprehend the composition. Guitar parts were recorded in home studios. Mixing and mastering services, as well as aid in the arrangements, was provided by the studio MoonHome after a long search for the optimal sound of all instruments. One of Italy's most intransigent Death Metal bands is ready to return with a new devastating release, a concentrate of violent Death Metal, a real blow in the face, for sure the most furious, fast and aggressive piece of music the band has conceived. It is Death Metal music as it was supposed to be... so violent, heavy and technical. The result is absolutely impressive! Australian legends Vomitor premiere the new track "Abracadabra" at Deaf Forever magazine's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated fourth album, Pestilent Death, set for international release on April 20th via Hells Headbangers. Hear Vomitor's "Abracadabra" in its entirety exclusively HERE. By now, Vomitor should need no introduction. For nearly 20 years now, these Aussie hooligans have been dominating the metal underground with their own, idiosyncratic brand of Total Death Metal. From their raucous 'n' ribald early demos to their utterly classic debut album, Bleeding the Priest, and onward, Vomitor have been a study in staunch defiance and sheer uncompromising will. Each album of theirs is its own world, its own head-space, its own frothing, ferocious beast of bedlam; and while the world around them continues to change, Vomitor stand sure as steel, doggedly and deadly. Vomitor have never been ones for half measures: it's all in, or nothing. They do not rush records, and only attack when inspiration arises; this explains why eight years separate that momentous debut LP and its nuclear-powered follow-up, Devils Poison. Then, two years after that second album, in 2012 came The Escalation - which, true to its title, found Vomitor hitting a fever pitch. Alas, another considerable hiatus - not to mention more live detonations across Europe and, at long last, North America - and five years later arrives Pestilent Death. Also true to its title, Pestilent Death is swarming and virulent, boundless and final. Characteristically, Vomitor kick into high gear immediately here, and there's no relenting to their iron-fisted fury. Ancient spells from underground metal's rich past are corralled and then contorted to Vomitor's diabolical design, resulting in a trademark sound that's all their own. Blood-red and raw yet somehow refined, the bolstered four-piece line-up of The Escalation (which saw Portal's Horror Illogium joining their ranks) continues their dominance across seven stout tracks in an incendiary 32 minutes. Each one's a literal tornado of everything that's made Vomitor so endearing and enduring: thermonuclear riffing, dive-bombing solos, vocal vomit, and chaotic crunch, now all rendered in its clearest but most cutting state. Warped minds breed warped music, and Vomitor are more warped than most: Pestilent Death is heavy metal barbarity taken to its most maniacal extreme. Hear for yourself exclusively HERE, courtesy of Deaf Forever, Germany's defenders of the true. The previously revealed track "Tremendous Insane" can be heard HERE at Hells Headbangers' Bandcamp, where the album can also be pre-ordered. www.facebook.com/Vomitor-170920829616359 www.hellsheadbangers.com www.facebook.com/hellsheadbangers Hells Headbangers announces the signing of Greek black metallers Funeral Storm. The first fruit of this union shall be the band's highly anticipated debut album, Arcane Mysteries, which will see release through the label later this year. Now featuring members from Hellenic scene legends Necromantia and Varathron, Funeral Storm deliver truly ancient - and truly authentic - Greek black metal in the most classic early '90s style, full of mysticism and might. Funeral Storm was formed in 2001 by Wampyrion Markhor Necrowolf under the name Raven Throne as a one-man-project. The name was later changed for legal reasons, and after several changes, the moniker Funeral Storm was chosen. Lyrical themes were set early on, and are heavily inspired by occultism, legends, myths, evil, mysteries, horror, and the Cthulhu mythos. After several line-up changes and one live show, Wampyrion decided to stop any activities concerning the band until 2012, where he released a digital split with Mortuus Sum and a six-way split on tape format with Human Serpent, Thaer Os Valael, Opus Magorum, Silent Dominion, and Varg Order a year later under his label Abyssic Black Cult Records. Funeral Storm were active again with the addition of members of Serpent Path. In 2016, Mercyful Hell Productions released a compilation with songs that cover most of the years of Funeral Storm that were never actually released. In the meantime, Wampyrion decided to change the sound of the band, now fully inspired by '90s Greek black metal. Nick Christogiannis of Deviser and Necroabyssious of Varathron/Katavasia/Zaratus then joined as full-time members. With this line-up, Funeral Storm released a split in early 2017 with Celestial Rite entitled Funeral Rite with Eskarth of Agatus performing acoustic guitars and a solo on the song "Martyr Of The Lake." Reaping international acclaim, Funeral Rite was released on 12" vinyl and CD formats by Iron Bonehead, while Mercyful Hell released the tape format. Funeral Storm now join Hells Headbangers with the addition of Arcania (Aherusia) on guitars to deliver their first full-length album, Arcane Mysteries. An album of approximately 40 minutes of atmospheric tartaric black metal in the vein of old Hellenic black metal inspired by sorcery, magic, and myths, Arcane Mysteries will also feature two special guests: Eskarth of fellow Hells Headbangers labelmates Agatus and M.W Daoloth of Necromantia/Prinicipality Of Hell. The music is being recorded at Raven Studios, while the vocals were recorded at Crown Audio Conspiracies, with mixing & mastering to be done at Studio 222. The front cover design, titled "King Necromancer," has been created by Markus Vesper (Denial Of God, Manilla Road, Attic). More info to be revealed shortly. In the meantime, check out the links below. www.facebook.com/funeralstorm666 www.hellsheadbangers.com www.facebook.com/hellsheadbangers Hailing from Greece, heavy/thrash metal band Sense Of Fear sign a worldwide deal for the release of “As The Ages Passing By…” with Rockshots Records. Formed in late ‘90s, as the band’s name suggests, their sound reminds to very deep and dark feelings, blended with power and aggressive tones. “Fear” is a key instinct for humans to survive. The debut album “As The Ages Passing By…” is a result of almost 20 years working hard on the songs, each one picked up carefully and with a unique story to tell alongside a deep feeling within. All the lyrics come from personal experiences and emotions, and these are a way to express ourselves and fight the personal demons. Each song has its own gravity to the album, and all together create Sense Of Fear’s presentation to the world as a band and as musicians. The blending of every metal genre in a total personal way makes this record a release you don’t want to miss, as it turns the old style into something new and innovative! All the album tracks have been recorded at Valve Studio in Thessaloniki by Stratos "Strutter" Karagiannidis (Gus G , Wardrum), mixed and mastered at Music Factory and Prophecy Studios in Kempten-ALLGÄU, Germany by R.D. Liapakis (Mystic Prophecy, Devil's Train) & C. Schmid. The album's artwork has been designed and edited by Colin Marks, (Nevermore, Exodus, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Kataklysm, Jeff Loomis, Xerath, Sylosis). The new album “As The Ages Passing By…” is set to be released via Rockshots Records on April 20, 2018. Established in 1990 in Częstochowa, they have quickly become one of the most respected Polish doom-death bands. This was confirmed with the favourable response to their “Nothing” (1992) demo and the debut album “Prayer to…” (1993), both receiving positive reviews from around the world. The comeback album, “Darkness…”, was recorded at No Solace Studio with production duties taken care of by M. of Mgła fame. Consisting of six tracks, it is a return to the band’s roots, naturally continuing from the band’s days in the early 90s when Mordor where one of the first representatives of Polish doom-death metal.
