Dalriada evoked the atmosphere of autumn with low-tuned guitars, a bit less folk instruments and more guitar-centric songs on their 10th album, “Őszelő”. This quintessential record of 9+1 new songs contains all familiar elements of Hungary’s most delightful folk metal band; from enormous choirs to epic battle-songs, with lyrics about Hungarian legends, mythology and history. The album is going to be released on the 9th of April, and can now be pre-ordered below as Digipak CD and Digipak 2 CD + DVD Limited Edition, coming with their long-awaited first live DVD called “Hazatérés - 15 év Dalriada” (English: Homecoming - 15 Years of Dalriada) which was recorded in October 2019 on their 15th Anniversary Show. An album teaser video is also available below with a snippet of each song.
In February we saw the release of their latest music video, “Betyár-altató”, (Eng.: Outlaw’s Lullaby) an emotional journey of love, adventure, and tragedy into the world of rogues, outlaws and highwaymen of the Great Hungarian Plain of the 19th century, produced and shot by Mihaszna Film. “Betyár-altató” is the third new song to be premiered off the forthcoming album, following the acoustic, special piece “Ezer csillag” (Eng.: A Thousand Stars) last summer, and “Őszi ének” (Eng.: Autumn’s Song)in December. Dalriada was also featured on a Kalapács tribute album in October, performing the song “Sólymok fészke”.

Check out the video at the following location: youtu.be/aze66JZqHjs Cathartic Demise will release full-length album In Absence on April 9. Pre-order at: catharticdemise.bandcamp.com/album/in-absence In comparison to the band's self-titled EP, In Absence still consists of the Melo / Prog / Death Thrash Metal elements, but with a more "mature" approach. The overall musicianship within the band improved, as well as the overall songwriting capabilities. In Absence features the same aggression as the self-titled EP, but brings an intense atmosphere with extreme tempos, and brisk riffs. This release heavily carries on the epic melodic sections heard previously, and even going further with more complex song structuring and longer tracks. Aside from the aggressive side of things, hints of experimentation can be heard, showing slower sections, and clean parts as well.
Album Art by Ioannis Vassilopoulas Recorded and mixed by Jonah Kay at HM Studio, Waterloo ON Mastered by Jamie King Line-up: Bennett Smith - Vocals/Guitars Aaron Tanner - Bass Taylor Wroblewski - Lead Guitars Angus Pike - Drums The thought of Cathartic Demise came into fruition on October 8, 2017, after high school friends Angus Pike (drums) and Bennett Smith (guitar/vocals) jammed for the first time, and immediately decided to form a group. Bennett had demos previously prepared, (two of the EP songs) and the week after Aaron Tanner would join the line up, following a few weeks with Taylor Wroblewski (guitar) quickly completing the quartet. The four rehearsed immensely over a eight-month period landing their first show September 16, 2018. In December of 2018, the band entered into HM Studio, to record the self titled three-track EP Cathartic Demise, released April 26, 2019. For the rest of the year, the band played around Ontario, and in January 2020, Cathartic Demise would begin the recording sessions of In Absence. facebook.com/catharticdemise instagram.com/catharticdemise catharticdemise.bandcamp.com Greek metal masters Nightfall are now streaming their brand new opus 'At Night We Prey' in full in advance of the release date. The new offering is set for release on March 05, 2021. The album can now be streamed via the official Season of Mist YouTube channel HERE. The link may be freely spread throughout your channels. The album can be ordered in various formats HERE. Vocalist Efthimis comments on the stream: "This album is made of anger and hope. Anger about all those stereotypes built around serious subjects affecting all, like depression; and hope for things to change for the better. We sing for younger generations to break down old misconceptions about mental disorders. Music in this album is not following a linear pattern, but rather tries to catch the entire spectrum of mood swings one is experiencing, while in this state. It is a blend of fast and slow parts, heavy and heavier passages, in a natural progress from start to end. Enjoy it and let its message root in you."
It has been seven long years since the world was last blessed with new music from the melodic blackened death metal stalwarts of Nightfall. While the band has been absent from the scene since the release of 2013’s Cassiopeia, their legacy has not been forgotten. Comprising the holy trinity of Greek metal – along with Rotting Christ and Septicflesh – Nightfall was the first extreme act in the country to sign an international deal, introducing the world to the burgeoning Mediterranean scene in the early 90s. Now, the band is plotting a triumphant return with At Night We Prey, the darkest and latest chapter of Nightfall’s already storied career. During the first decade of Nightfall’s lifespan, the band headlined stages across Europe. Thereafter, went on to dominate international festivals such as Brutal Assault, Sonisphere, and Wacken, the latter of which the band solidified their legacy as the first ever Greek band to earn an envied spot at the renowned festival. The band eventually made the decision to switch to a studio act before they went completely silent. When reflecting upon the sudden disappearance after a steady rise from the underground, vocalist and founding member Efthimis Karadimas explained that it was due to an all too familiar beast – depression:- “It's because of depression that kicked in as early as mid-00s. I can write for hours and get into details about stuff gone wrong or mistreated situations, but the basis of all discouragement to move on has been depression and the effort required to get over it.” Despite the dark days, Karadimas did not abandon music entirely, moving on to form The Slayerking, a gothic doom metal band that has released two agonizing full-length records between 2016-2019. Alas, the abrupt departure of the band was not the final “goodbye” as Nightfall has been reinvigorated with a new line-up and coveted deal with Season of Mist. Karadimas has reunited with original Nightfall guitarist Mike Galiatsos, who helped define the band’s sound during the early years. With the addition of drummer and producer Fotis Benardo (ex-Septicflesh) as well as guitarist Kostas Kyriakopoulos (The Slayerking), the band is finally ready to release the tenth studio album At Night We Prey. In addition to the long-awaited new music, Season of Mist will also be re-issuing the band’s original albums that were produced by Holy Records back in the 90s. This is not the only news the band has to share as Nightfall has also vowed to finally perform again. “We are gonna play these live, including stuff never played live before,” says Karadimas. Adding: "‘At Night We Prey' is a very dark and personal effort, tackling the topic of Karadimas’s battle with depression. “A beast I have experienced its teeth deep into my soul, I decided to come out and share that experience with metalheads. This is the least I can offer now to the big fight against depression. If we do not stop this, it will eat us all alive. Share your pain, speak openly about it. This is the only way to kill the demons in your mind.” Line-up Efthimis Karadimas : Bass, vocals Mike Galiatsos : Guitar Kostas Kyriakopoulos : Guitar Fotis Benardo : Drum https://www.instagram.com/nightfallband https://www.facebook.com/nightfallbandofficial Indian heavy metallers Against Evil release their first single & video 'The Sound Of Violence' from their upcoming album "End Of The Line". The album will be out May 14th via Germany-Switzerland based record label Doc Gator Records in Europe and independently for the rest of the world. The sound of Against Evil is best described as heavy metal with power and speed metal influences. Shasank (Rhythm, Lead Guitar) explains about the song: “This is the first song we wrote for the new album. The song is about a gladiator’s fight for survival and freedom. Songwriting wise, we picked up where we left off with our previous release 'All Hail the King' while making slight changes to the overall sound. We think it sounds a lot heavier and in-your-face compared to our previous releases and we hope you like it as much as we do.” Against Evil is a heavy metal band from the city of Visakhapatnam (India), formed in 2014. Combining traditional heavy metal, power metal and speed metal with a modern sound, the band’s music can be described as adrenaline inducing, fist pumping, bone crushing, anthemic metal! The band released two albums – 'Fatal Assault' in 2015 and 'All Hail the King' in 2018 which were met with great critical acclaim. After the release of their album 'All Hail the King', the band started to gain a solid fan base worldwide, especially in Europe among fans of traditional heavy metal, power metal and thrash metal which led to the collaboration with German/Swiss based record label Doc Gator Records who later released the album in Europe. With the help of Doc Gator Records and Facebook metal group “Heavy Metal Fans”, the band set off on a crowdfunded European tour in the summer of 2019, performing club and festival shows in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Switzerland and sharing stages with legendary bands such as Queensryche, Riot V, Hardline and many others. Their newest single, “Blind Crow,” is well supplied with suspense, apocalyptic surroundings, violent breakdowns, glass-shattering screams, and syncopated riffs. Crossing the borders of metalcore, djent, alternative rock, and prog, the track upholds the Iranian revolutionists’ ever-evolving sonic dexterity. “Blind Crow” is available on all major digital platforms. Stream / Download it AT THIS LOCATION. In regards to the struggle they face being in a country where metal music is illegal and bands often get arrested for playing live or making music, Out of Nowhere informs: “Being a metal musician in Iran is a big risk. Starting from the overpriced rare instruments to the risk of being arrested each second. We played some sold-out shows but the risk of being arrested is with us even right now when I’m writing this. It’s a big crime and if they arrest you, there will be years of prison or even in some cases execution for us. But we are born to do this, so we accept the risk and do what we love to do.” For More Info: https://www.facebook.com/outofnowhere.irband https://www.instagram.com/out_of_nowhere_official Canadian melodic death metal Tides Of Kharon unveil 'Atlas Endures', the first video from their upcoming EP, "Titanomachy". Telling a tale of betrayal and punishment, the aptly named 'Atlas Endures' is sung from the point of view of Atlas as he is sentenced to hold the sky on his shoulders for all eternity. Lyrically, Atlas Endures is emotionally intense, sharing the character’s heartbreaking acceptance of his unfortunate eternal future, with hopes and dreams being his only escape from the struggle. To compliment the story, Tides Of Kharon proceed powerfully into the track, which happens to open the album. A dark chord progression layered with syncopated double-bass patterns force goosebumps on the listener, a phenomenon the refuses to relent throughout the song’s movement through verse, chorus and bridge. The latter half of the track features a guitar solo, performed by the band’s newest member, Mike Burton, which adds an elegance to this dramatic, yet hard-hitting opus. "Titanomachy" is out on April 6th, 2021 via Sliptrick Records. Tides Of Kharon are:

The EP is the follow up to the band's 2020 single "Dance With Me" and their second album "V Ways To Accept" (2019) released on Sliptrick Records. "Inside" features five djent melodic progressive tracks along with special guest vocals from Lord Nelson (ex-Stuck Mojo) on the record's closing song "Flare Up". The band's discography has always been known for flirting with djent metalcore influences and this new release is no different, except this time guitarist Evgenii “Gene” Mazunov took the helm on the band's sound with the use of a 9-string Ibanez along with bass, arrangement, and composition duties. Also joining as a guest for the recording is well-known Russian drummer Pavel Lokhnin (God Eat God, Dominia, Perimeter). Vocalist and lyricist Daria Mazunova comments: "We put our souls into the music we create, always. It’s not about making music for something in return, not about making it for fun. It’s about emotions transformed into music. I would say for 'Inside', we entered into more metalcore territory though it doesn’t mean there aren't prog components or experimentation done. Conceptually, the general idea of the EP is a fight between a human and a machine and a master/obeying inside one person. If you look at the cover art you will see a heart combined with a car engine in the moment of ignition." Next Door To Heaven has shared a teaser clip of the title track for fans, which can be heard on YouTube - https://youtu.be/xSZzFZjw1uo The EP will be available for pre-order as of March 18th on all digital platforms.
