Global metal icons Iron Maiden embark on the final leg of The Book of Souls world tour this weekend, simultaneously launching a synergistic player-vs-player battle arena for their mobile game, Legacy of the Beast. The game offers players a unique way to interact with the band’s real world activities, by introducing not only a replica of one of the tour stage productions, but also the debut of The Book of Souls ‘Shaman Eddie’ into the game, in his Mayan themed incarnation as featured on the band’s most recent studio album. Other characters from The Book of Souls are set to follow.
Legacy of the Beast is a definitive experience in the mobile RPG space – taking players on an unparalleled, epic, ever-expanding, strategic gaming journey via their smartphones & tablets.
Iron Maiden Manager Rod Smallwood says “With Legacy of the Beast we wanted to create something that appealed both to fans of Maiden music and gamers alike, wherever they are in the world, and I think we are well on our way to accomplishing that. The game has kept true to the band’s history and development not only through their music but with Eddie too. This latest feature focussed around our current tour is only the start of many new and exciting innovations we have planned to keep Legacy evolving and becoming even more addictive!”
Adds Llexi Leon, Interactive Creative Director of Phantom Music Management “The towering Mayan set piece of The Book of Souls world tour presented an ideal opportunity to expand the game and create a virtual event space to complement the band’s live show – whether you’re seeing Iron Maiden on the road or playing Legacy of the Beast on your mobile, we’ve crafted a gaming experience that explores the Mayan world of The Book of Souls record and marks the first of many timed in-game events that will enrich the band’s touring activity, engaging fans old and new across the globe in a way never before possible.”
The unprecedented integration of Iron Maiden’s creative output has seen the game and its characters featured on the side of Maidens own 747, on bottle tops of their Trooper beer, on the iconic black t-shirts and shown in cinematic trailers at live shows – a synthesis that continues to push boundaries in both the digital and physical space.
Players of the game can look forward to many more significant new features and characters to collect over the coming months, including ‘The Clairvoyant’ & ‘Trooper Eddie’, Social Chat and the ‘Night City’ game world and cast - inspired by Maiden’s early music catalogue and distinct East London upbringing.

Bands that take on a "theme" often end up pigeon-holing themselves, releasing album after album with the same overarching concept and sound. When it came time to write and record their upcoming full-length album, Die On My Ride, Global Music Award-winning nomadic folk metal group Tengger Cavalry recognized the opportunity to expand on their celebrated exotic sound and lyrical explorations of tradition, history and warfare by delving into more personal, topical themes of racial discrimination, identity, equal rights and freedom.
Die On My Ride, which is scheduled to hit stores on June 2, 2017 via M-Theory Audio, delivers the potent, inimitable metal-meets-Mongolian / Central Asian world music sound that diehard Tengger Cavalry fans have come to know and love, while incorporating fresh styles and concepts that a whole new fan-base will enjoy. Listen to the brand new title track, "Die On My Ride", via lyric video now at MetalInjection.net:
"Die On My Ride is a rather different album than all of our previous releases," states Tengger Cavalry mastermind and frontman Nature G.
"This album reaches a more personal place for us. We discuss personal struggle surrounding identity conflicts, racial discrimination and individual freedoms. I think an important part of existing in modern society is learning to accept one another for who we are and embrace our differences, and to look beyond that to find a deeper connection between each race or ethnic group. Coming from a different place and walking the line between the Mongolian music world and American music world is sometimes challenging for me. I see all kinds of stereotyping and people throwing hatred, prejudice and judgement at one other because of arrogance, insecurity or simply a lack of understanding. This creates a huge identity conflict for individuals. These concepts make up a lot of what this album is about. Being yourself, pushing past judgement from others, being strong and fighting for your individual freedoms."
Nature G continues, "Musically, I intentionally tried to incorporate more clean vocal choruses, semitones and western minor scales, rather than stick just within our traditional Mongolian folk style. We also incorporated piano to add a more emotional element to the songs."
Die On My Ride was self-produced at Nature G's production studio Raiding Media, and is available to pre-order now in both physical CD and vinyl format via M-Theory Audio or digitally via the band's Bandcamp page. Die On My Ride is Tengger Cavalry's first album available in vinyl format, as well as their first album to be released with M-Theory Audio - the new label recently launched by Marco Barbieri, former president of Century Media Records and Nuclear Blast America.
Die On My Ride will be supported by a North American tour and performances at several European summer festivals. Further details will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Slovenian solid heavy metal band Pyroxene released their first EP today April 21st 2017 via Inverse Records.
»Ep« is a concept album with 4 poems, talking about the rise of our overlord fireborn Pyroxene, his conquest of cities and lands, of the rituals under his dominion and of his great war on the Moon! Pyroxene's first album gives you a small insight into the lore of the Fireborn, creator of suns, slayer of weak.
Music that is in the essence heavy metal is intertwined with ethno melodics and dark grooves. Many times it was described as retro sound or chemical. The band has decided to record a cover of Black Sabbath's Electric funeral, to pay tribute to the legends of metal.
The band is founded in 2011 and their repertoire stretches from blues elements and hard rock to heavy metal, whereas they define themselves as »solid metal«. After releasing few successful singles the band is now ready to be introduced even on a bigger audience. If you're still unfamiliar with this fresh and energetic band the best option is to check their solid music video Helium 3 here:
The female fronted progressive power metal band Vandroya will release their new album "Beyond The Human Mind" on April 28th through Inner Wound Recordings. "The Path To The Endless Fall", the second single from the album is available for streaming at YouTube at the link below.
Stream "The Path To The Endless Fall" here: https://youtu.be/YjEs22SSTn
With a more evident progressive influence but without giving up the weight and virtuosity of power metal, the new album brings a more mature band, a more balanced sound and reflects the musicians technical and artistic evolution since the debut album "One".
The album concept revolves around the journey we all go through in search of fullness and inner peace. The album artwork is created by Felipe Machado Franco [Blind Guardian, Rhapsody of Fire, Iced Earth].
Led by vocalist Daísa Munhoz, Vandroya are ready to take the next step and make a mark in the metal scene with "Beyond The Human Mind".
Internal Bleeding drummer and veteran FDNY firefighter Bill Tolley dies battling Queens blaze; band issues tribute with music video
"Rest in Peace our brother William 'Bill' Tolley. Drummer. Brother. Firefighter. Hero. Friend. Life will never be the same without him. We love you, Bill. Slam On." - Internal Bleeding
Internal Bleeding drummer and veteran FDNY firefighter Bill Tolley passed away Thursday, April 20th after falling five stories from a rooftop while battling a two-alarm apartment fire in Queens, New York. Tolley leaves behind a wife and eight-year-old daughter.
Said Tolley's bandmates upon his tragic passing, "Our drummer, the heartbeat of the band, William Tolley, died today. There are zero words to describe the loss. He was a good, decent, and honourable man who loved his friends, his family, and the people he served. There will never be another like him. There are no words to describe the utter sadness and despair we feel right now. Bill was our rock, our heart, and supplier of insane laughter. The music world lost a very influential drummer, and the world lost a friend, a father, and a damn good man. We love you Bill."
Yesterday marked the release of Internal Bleeding's digital single, "Final Justice." The track serves as a teaser from the band's forthcoming full-length, Corrupting Influence and the band planned to celebrate today's release with a new video for the track. Internal Bleeding wished to unveil the clip yesterday as planned in Tolley's honor. "Bill would want that more than anything. It will mean so much."
"Final Justice" takes the patented Internal Bleeding sound into new, more intense levels. It's still filled with all the hooks, slams, and grooves you've come to expect from the band, but at the same time, it's more sophisticated, sharper, and focused than anything they're released previously.
No Clean Singing is currently streaming the clip issuing, "It's now impossible to listen to the song and watch the video without thinking about yesterday's tragedy (and the original video has been modified since yesterday to include a remembrance and a dedication). Yet it's also a fitting tribute to Bill Tolley and his important role in creating the legacy of this band that obviously meant so much to him for so many years. There's a lot of visceral power in 'Final Justice,' and it captures the kind of immediacy, energy, and head-wrecking punch that you feel in a live performance..."
