Mexican death metal legends Infinitum Obscure have decided to release their classic 'Infernal Dark Force' album via their own label, Death Elite. It's time to explore the renowned band's history all over again, this time in the best possible sound quality, as the music has been remastered by the founder himself, Robert Lizarraga. This album created waves in the underground when it was first released in the last decade. The band had a mysterious, inherently dark and dissonant quality without compromising on their steely sound, not devoid of melodies, as Infinitum Obscure somehow merge the obscure thrashy death metal music of The Chasm with the Swedish-sounding black metal music of bands like Dissection, Dawn, Sacramentum and Naglfar. The result is a veritable dark and intriguing form of blackened death metal music, a sound that the band have forged over the years and perfected. It all began here though and even after a decade, the music sounds fresh, pure, and puts many new bands to shame. Infinitum Obscure's legacy remains untarnished, revered, and alive - the band will release their new full length on Transcending Obscurity Records when ready. Death Elite Records Facebook Infinitum Obscure Facebook The Metal Hammer Golden God Awards in association with Fireball blew the roof off a sold-out Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith last night, and honoured the very best of the past 12 months’ metal and rock from around the globe. Hosted by Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta, this unique and special night is all about the fans. There are no tables, no sit-down dinners, no industry backslapping – this is a room full of genuine fans who have voted in their hundreds of thousands to see their favourite bands be victorious. Plus, all profits from the Golden Gods ticket sales went to Heavy Metal Truants, an annual charity cycle ride, sponsored by TeamRock, from London to Download Festival to benefit Nordoff Robbins, Teenage Cancer Trust and Childline. One of the most celebrated drummers of the past 30 years and former member of Slipknot, Joey Jordison was announced as 2016’s Golden God, following in the footsteps of Dave Mustaine, Lemmy and Marilyn Manson. Among other winners were Asking Alexandria for Best UK Band, whose 2016 album ‘The Black’ entered the US Billboard Top 10 and UK Official Chart Top 15. Iron Maiden’s Number One album ‘The Book Of Souls’ won Album Of The Year. Ghost, Sweden’s iconic and internationally celebrated occult rockers, won Best International Band. Sixx:A.M.’s Nikki Sixx picked up Icon, thrash metallers Anthrax won Inspiration and Lamb Of God picked up Best Live Band. Interwoven with the award presentations were live sets from Grammy Award-winners Halestorm, French metal innovators Gojira and the immense and unwavering Amon Amarth, in what were the only UK summer shows for any of the bands outside of festival appearances. Closing the evening was A Salute To Lemmy - a monumental celebration of the life of one of music’s biggest icons. Lemmy was, and will always be, a godfather of rock. A renegade, an innovator, an icon and an inspiration, there is no doubt that our music scene would look very different today if it wasn’t for him. A Salute To Lemmy was a unique celebration of the man. Saxon, one of Britain's greatest rock bands – who in their own right have sculpted and inspired the world of rock today and influenced generations of bands – performed Lemmy’s three favourite Saxon songs and were then joined onstage by Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee and performed Motörhead’s ‘Ace Of Spades’, ‘Born To Raise Hell’ and ‘Overkill’. "There's only one publication in the world capable of putting such a broad range of talent under one roof, and that's Metal Hammer," says Alexander Milas, Metal Hammer's editor-in-chief. "For our 30th anniversary we pulled out all the stops, but it's really our Salute To Lemmy that's hit the loudest note. His legend will always live on." This year, TeamRock and the Metal Hammer Golden God Awards teamed up with Pinewood Live to film the event. Pinewood Live is part of the Pinewood Studio Group, a leading provider of studio and related services to the global creative industries, synonymous with world-class British and international film and television productions. New Bombay boys in Wired Anxiety have left something special for posterity, before moving out of the country for higher studies. 'The Delirium of Negation' has to be one of the most ambitious and well-recorded death metal albums from the country. None other than Arkady Navaho of Navaho Studios (Katalepsy, 7 H.Target, etc.) mixed and mastered the release for maximum impact. The band's sounding mightier than ever before; the riffs are chunkier than the flesh on a water buffalo, percussion that's literally floor-crumbling, and compelling growling that adds a lot of momentum to the proceedings. This is death metal with vigour, force and panache, the new face of Indian death metal. There are not one but two artworks for this release, made by the reputed Indonesian artist Coki Greenway (Aborted, Devourment, etc.) and both are presented in a special slipcase edition that's strictly limited. If you're into death metal that's brutal and heavy, Wired Anxiety are bound to please. Wayers wrote a complete new play with his modern perspective about the familiar biblical story of Abraham in the land of Kna'an and was looking for someone to fit in writing the soundtrack and songs for this purpose. That's how a co-production between Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land) and Erez Yohanan (Amaseffer) was born. Kobi & Erez, with the help of Orphaned Land's members, composed this special soundtrack consisting ballads and metal songs about all the characters and inner conflicts of the heroes in this complex episode, a story that still reflects till this day the three Abrahamic religions. The concept album “Kna’an” will be released through Century Media Records on August 26th, 2016. Orphaned Land will celebrate their 25th anniversary with an exciting journey into World Metal music which takes you through Russian-Chinese and Middle Eastern metal. Formed in Halifax, West Yorkshire in 1988 and still boasting 4 of its 5 original members, the band are widely-credited with co-founding the gothic metal genre with their sophomore album, 'Gothic' (1991). Through the years, Paradise Lost have changed their style effectively and reinvented themselves again and again. They elbowed their way from their original melodic death metal sound on their debut, 'Lost Paradise' (1990) to the classic 'Icon' (1993) and more experimental 'One Second' (1997). Finally they went back to the roots with their current release, 'The Plague Within' (2015) achieving some of the best reviews of their career. Vocalist Nick Holmes commented: "Paradise Lost's career has run alongside Nuclear Blast Records since the label began in the late 80's. And as huge fans of original death metal, we still have the majority of the label's first releases from those very early days. It's pretty incredible to see how the label has become a real force in metal music over the years, both in Europe and America and now, nearly 30 years later, in a new chapter for the band, it's exciting for Paradise Lost to be a part of Nuclear Blast!" Nuclear Blast owner Markus Staiger adds: "As a fan from day one I've been following Paradise Lost ever since their death metal era, but have also enjoyed watching them grow into something even bigger and so unique. They defined and later on re-defined the gothic genre and always delivered the most dark and memorable songs. It's a great pleasure to finally welcome the band to the ever-growing Nuclear Blast family! Needless to say that we're very much looking forward to this partnership!" Paradise Lost will be playing at renowned Catton Park based metal festival; Bloodstock Festival, on August 13th where they will be playing the main stage alongside the likes of Gojira, Mastodon and Fear Factory. The cover artwork was made by by Stan-W Decker (Masterplan, Vanden Plas, Resurrection Kings, Stryper). The bonus track on the CD edition, "Riot Against Riot", is a narration on Lebanon’s recent anti-corruption protests that the band members were part of and that were met with violent crackdowns by the police. The album theme emerged from the band's experiences with social and political oppression in Lebanon, from being jailed just for being into Heavy Metal to being ruled by a corrupt and violent government. All songs are about freedom of thought and artistic expression. Blaakyum's sound is a unique blend of Thrash, Heavy and Groove Metal infused with Middle Eastern and Levantine folk music vibes. The band are the pioneers of "Middle Eastern Thrash" and they not only make Thrash Metal sound oriental but also make Middle Eastern musical elements sound Thrashy. The song "Freedom Denied" samples Middle Eastern folklore music and uses oriental percussions (tabla) as another Thrash Metal instrument. This unique Thrashy tabla sound is also in the title track “The Line Of Fear” as well as on the genre-defying “Baal-Adon”. Blaakyum are: Bassem Deaibess - vocals, guitars Rabih Deaibess - lead guitars Pierre Le Port - bass Hassan Kheder - drums Blaakyum are right now on the “Line Of Fear” tour that kicked off in Dubai with a headlining show on June 3rd and that will take the band to perform at Tuska Open Air Festival, on July 1st, followed by a 16-day tour in support of Onslaught across Europe. Blaakyum won last year’s Wacken Open Air Metal Battle in third place worldwide, cementing the reputation of the band from a small country in a turbulent region that has defied all odds to live and breathe Heavy Metal. www.blaakyum.com www.facebook.com/blaakyum Enslaved have won a Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award in the category of "Best Underground"! "We have been waiting since the day we recorded it, and at last it is happening! It has been a challenging journey, and it has demanded a lot of patience and understanding from all parts involved. The day we hold the finished product in our hand will be as sacred a day for us as the day we finished recording it". - Ivar and Enslaved Enslaved`s 1st full-length album was co-produced with the legendary Pytten in Grieghallen, Bergen, Norway.
