Belarusian Black Metal project Pa Vesh En sets release date for new album; unveils first track15/6/2019 , Iron Bonehead Productions sets August 23rd as the international release date for Pa Vesh En's highly anticipated second album, Pyrefication, on CD and vinyl LP formats. In little more than two years, this Belarusian enigma has built a sizeable (and starkly terrifying) catalog, culminating in last year's critically acclaimed Church of Bones debut album and, earlier this year, the Cryptic Rites of Necromancy EP, all under the aegis of Iron Bonehead. Thus far, Pa Vesh En has exhibited a stark 'n' unsettling style of black metal: from stifled-violence miserabilism to seemingly formless drift, from bent-askew melodicism to echo-chamber murk, always with a tortured soul guiding everything, he's almost effortlessly created a sound-world beyond compare - and has done so with the restlessness of a lost spectre. Restless as ever, Pa Vesh En prodigiously keeps apace with his tortured vision of black metal with a brand-new second album, Pyrefication. Ever aptly titled, Pyrefication is total spiritual meltdown: this is the veritable sound of the soul collapsing inward and dying a most exquisite death. To that, Pa Vesh En draws inspiration from within, and here locates a wobbly, ever-so-delicate balance between Cryptic Rites of Necromancy's ultra-violent hysteria and the murkier mystery of his earliest work, all done with spellbinding alchemy that makes for a miasmic 40-minute labyrinth. If anything, Pa Vesh En seems unsettlingly comfortable taking his muse wherever he wishes on Pyrefication, malforming and maiming any atmosphere he wishes whilst maintaining that beckoning-abyssward style of melodicism he's made his own since his auspicious start. Once again, Pa Vesh En hands you the matches for self-immolation - will you provide the kindling for Pyrefication? Finnish modern metal act As I May announce they will be releasing their second album "My Own Creations" this coming July 2019. Signing with labels Rockshots Records (Italy) and Spiritual Beast (Japan), the sophomore full length is slated for a worldwide release on July 26th along with it being available in Japan on July 24th. "My Own Creations" is a fast-paced blend of modern metal with metalcore highlights. It’s heavy, melodic and unique; and sonically more mature than As I May's previous release "Speak No Evil" (2017). Working on writing music that is easy to identify with a digital atmosphere, As I May make their listeners headbang and sing along to the catchy choruses. Paying homage to many old school metal bands, In Flames fans will find a special affinity for this Finnish act. The band's next single 'Cure Is Worse Than Disease' follows their first revealed track off the album 'Pride Goes Before A Fall'. The song was released this past May and has hit over 50k streams on Spotify in its first month. The band explains the track:- "'Cure Is Worse Than Disease' is the most modern sounding song off of the album. It has a lot of dynamic. It's really easy listening with melodic parts and a couple of seconds later you're getting a hard heavy beating. It also shows the power of silence. Silence can be equally powerful as the heavy hitting part when placed in the right places. The track can best be described as a touch of post-hardcore and newcore." Watch and listen to the new music video for 'Cure Is Worse Than Disease' here and the band's previous music video 'Pride Goes Before A Fall' can be viewed here. The group now consists of Tipi Nokelainen (vocals and bass); Lasse Hiltunen (vocals and guitar); Jani Valhola (backup vocals and guitars) and Marko Korhonen (drums). As I May has since started to gain ground in the Finnish heavy metal scene. The music's soul lies within catchy melodies and big choruses. As I May combines modern elements, yet keeps focussing on the heavier side. The album will be released on July 19 2019. Listen to the song here: https://www.echoesanddust.com/2019/06/exclusive-track-stream-gates-to-the-morning-rekindled Pre-order the album here: https://gatestothemorning.bandcamp.com/ Gates To The Morning are a New Jersey Progressive black metal band driven by the singular vision of Sean Meyers. Having started as a bedroom black metal project whilst still attending Montclair State University for Jazz Performance, Meyers started to collect material in 2016 for what would become the bands debut, Return To Earth. Pulling from a myriad set of influences, ranging from Opeth to Art Blakey by way of Tool, Gates To The Morning have rapidly refined a sound that is wholly their own and speaks to a dark unreality. Full of bombastic imagery and transcendent choruses, Gates To The Morning is finally taking form. With his jazz background balanced with a long history in the infamous New Jersey DIY scene, Meyers hoped to create something powerful and thoughtful with Return To Earth. Fully invested in his work, he found himself recording drums at Backroom Studios with Kevin Antreassian of The Dillinger Escape Plan and then collaborating with friends to finish the studio process both at Backroom Studios and in various home setups. It was during this process that he chose to embrace the ethereal vocals of Meg Moyer for the project in addition to his own, further growing the bands sonic palette. The end result, and consequent live band, features performances from a variety of players, ranging from childhood friends to fellow jazz musicians. Return To Earth is a concept album with lyrics orbiting around the twin concepts of challenge and triumphs, the pitfalls and mountaintops found on a journey of awakening and enlightenment. This opening ululation is powerful and deeply emotional, hinting at much more to come from these Garden State musicians. After years of deliberation and struggle their unique sound has finally come together. Gates To The Morning are plotting their first live shows around the release of Return To Earth and are steeling themselves for the stage. https://gatestothemorning.bandcamp.com/releases https://www.facebook.com/gatestothemorning/ |
