Right, these policies come in force today, now if you have any objections feel free to voice them and we'll take them into consideration, but here are the policies as of 9th July 2012:
1. Any correspondances must be addressed to [email protected], people who PM on Facebook will be reminded of the procedure, we will not check out anything only if it has been emailed or posted on our Facebook page. 2. Any criticism to us wil not be tolerated and your band/label will receive a warning of a two warning system, first warning means you will taken off our system for a week; no promoting whatsoever. The second warning will mean your taken off permanantly, we do not like wasting people's time and nor do we like our own time wasted. 3. Physical releases are preferred but digital releases will also be accepted. Please note physical copies will get prior slot due to the fact they were posted. Record Labels will also get priority over those bands/musicians who send releases via email. This is the system being implemented, this is so it suits everyones time scheduling and as such will not be adapted until further notice. 4. We wont ever forget you, so dont panic if you havent heard from us. Many Metal music fans go on about how each person categorizes, pigeon-holes, classifies, or whatever, a band into the myriad of sub-genres or sub-sub-genres, or subways 2-for-1 offers where the big whopper comes out with everything in it. But the genious behind each subgenres name remains there, well what your about to read is not some jibber-jabber, but uniquely what the many sub-genres mean, especially the lesser used, i.e. we all know what Melodic Death Metal is, (it could be harmonious lead poisoning, er-hem). But people tend to whack all bands under the basic 'metal' tag - another way of saying 'I cannot be bothered to split bands up', but since when does Motorhead sound like Darkthrone? See. Solves that one, so here goes:
Dark Metal. Dark Metal, you may think of it as a collection of genres, which indeed it is. If a band plays a collection of Black Metal, Doom Metal and Gothic Metal at once, instead of making it Gothic Blackened Doom Metal or Blackened Gothic Doom, it's much easier just to say 'Dark Metal'; this does exclude Black Veil Brides who are nowhere near the term. Hybrid Metal. Now this one is a real tricky one but is best used when a band mixes two genres together of the opposite, as such Rap music with Metal or rock. Rap Rock is in effect a wider definition of the Hybrid genre collaboration, whereas Nu Metal (KoRn, Slipknot, etc) and Rapcore (RATM, Linkin Park, etc) are specific examples of Rap Rock. Rapcore is ideally rap and hardcore punk mixed - Hollywood Undead; although the latter can be put in Crunkcore (Crunk and Screamo). Or it can refer to bands mixing Industrial Metal with Metalcore and Thrash Metal (Industrial Thrashcore if you wish), bands like Raunchy and Mnemic fit in. Thrashcore. Well the term is practically self-explanatory, it's Thrash Metal with Metalcore. The same can be used with any Metal Genre: Gothcore (Gothic Metal/Metalcore - Motionless In White), Speedcore (Hardcore Techno - Gabba Front Berlin), Nintendocore (Nintendo music/Metalcore - Horse The Band), Mathcore (Math Rock/Metalcore - The Dilinger Escape Plan), etc, etc. Brutal Death Metal. A sub genre of Death Metal in which emphasis is on complex and fast drumming, palm muted guitar, and extremely guttural vocals. Extreme Metal. Practically a collection of insane genres, so instead of Blackened Deathrash, Death Metal / Black Metal / Thrash Metal would fall under Extreme Metal. - Strapping Young Lad, Cradle of Filth (can also be Dark Metal or Dark Extreme Metal), The Berzerker, etc. _UNFD and ESSENTIAL is proud to announce the release of Buried In Verona's third album "Notorious" in the UK and Europe on August 13th.
