Tombstoned announce release date of Svart debut‏

Today, Svart Records announced the date of 14th November as the release date of Tombstoned's self-titled debut album. Committing their their first undead body to the earth, Tombstoned are veritable funeral directors of doom, kicking up new dirt in the old graveyard with a warm vintage sound that's as fresh as it is genuine.

Dragging along truckloads of smoking riffs and coffins of classic, doom-laden heavy rock 'n' roll, these young stalwarts of psych-rock have the real magic of a future classic. Brimming with southern swamp atmospheres, reminiscent of Neil Young or Woven Hand and dosed up on heavy Sabbathian, timeless riffs, Tombstoned's debut album bristles forth with chainsaw guitars that put bands like High Tide ahead of their time.

Every bit real-deal purveyors of the finest art, "Tombstoned" the album is an unforgettable collection of diehard tracks to die for. Vocals like the bastard lovechild of Ozzy, Robert Smith, and Hawkwind-era Lemmy hook you into the gloom in a way that's been lost for decades. Just when you thought that heavy classics are getting harder and harder to find, Tombstoned show up in a haze of heaving, dusty doom-rock like a shining diamond in a vagrant's tooth. From Justin Oborn's favorite new ear-worm and choice to play Roadburn 2013, to the new treasured LP you expose your friends to, Tombstoned are as certain as death to catch up with you! Plan your preferred form of burial with Svart on either CD, LP, or digital from November 14th.

Tracklisting for Tombstoned's "Tombstoned"

1. Through Days
2. Daze of Disintegration
3. Rat Race
4. The End
5. Faded
6. Last Waltz

Watain’s new album 'The Wild Hunt' just came out a couple of weeks ago and impressed both media and fans. Right after an extensive North America tour in October / November, they will set European stages on fire to present their new opus live. The band comments: "It will be with the dead of winter that we shall come hunting through Europe again. By then the dry heat of summer will be long gone, moistened by gasoline and tears, ready to explode into a storm of panic and euphoria, death and metal, war and pain, sodomy and lust! So gather yourselves and prepare, forbidden fires and unearthly lights shall illuminate the winter nights..."

Motörhead announces North American Pre-Order information for “Aftershock”

12/9/2013

Picture
The North American pre-order for Motörhead's "Aftershock" is live! That’s right, you can pre-order the next chapter of Motörhead’s legendary catalog now in Limited Edition Digipack format via Amazon.com at this link. The album is also available now in regular CD format and vinyl (gatefold – 180-Gram Single LP) format (digital coming soon). Since the pre-order launch yesterday, "Aftershock" has already shot to #1 on Amazon’s Movers & Shakers chart and #3 on Amazon’s Hard Rock & Metal chart.

"Aftershock", Motörhead’s mammoth 21st studio album, hits stores in North America on October 22nd, 2013 via UDR Music. Recorded at NRG Studios in North Hollywood, "Aftershock" is a true leveler, a crushing confirmation of everything Motörhead stands for, marching from the dust storm to deliver 14 belting statements which see Motörhead in perhaps their best writing form for years.

"Aftershock" track listing:

Heartbreaker
Coup de Grace
Lost Woman Blues
End Of Time
Do You Believe
Death Machine
Dust And Glass
Going To Mexico
Silence When You Speak To Me
Crying Shame
Queen Of The Damned
Knife
Keep Your Powder Dry
Paralyzed

With "Aftershock", there’s swagger, there’s punch, there’s speed and there’s dirty filthy grooves, Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee showing clearly that Motörhead is not simply a band, it’s a genre!

That genre, more than ever, resonates with hearty independence and swashbuckle. Whether it’s “Heartbreaker” throwing hooks and riffs into your head, the double-kick concussiveness of “Paralyzed” with Campbell’s fuelled attack, or the thunderous ride-off-the-Rickenbacker Motörcharge of “Going To Mexico”, "Aftershock" takes gleeful twists and turns which re-announce the Motörlegend. There’s the smoky biker bar blues in the shape of “Dust And Glass”, Lemmy’s late-night vocals evoking last-call and melancholy, the pogo-powered punk-spiked stab of “Queen Of The Damned” and the deliciously steamy, humid mournful “Lost Woman Blues” which midway through decides to kick over the stool and stomp out the saloon door.

Motörhead are Motörhead are Motörhead…and their "Aftershock" will be felt worldwide…

Broken Hope unleashes “The Docking Dead” static video today via Bloody-Disgusting.com

12/9/2013

Picture
Today, Broken Hope and Bloody-Disgusting.com are pleased to premiere the brand new static video for the band’s track ‘The Docking Dead’, cut from their upcoming album "Omen Of Disease", out October 1 on Century Media Records (September 30th in Europe). The static video can be viewed here — but beware before you listen! This content of this track is insane… literally. Harvesting explicit body parts to create zombies? Leave it to Broken Hope to conjure the horror!

Broken Hope guitarist Jeremy Wagner says:

"I began penning words for Broken Hope 25 years ago, and my approach has never changed... I still create the most horrific, insane, and repulsive lyrics my mind can conjure. ‘The Docking Dead’ is no exception to my long list of nasty flash-fiction. Many of my ideas start with a "what if" scenario. In the case of ‘THE DOCKING DEAD,’ I asked myself, "what if a Re-Animator-like scientist attempted to harvest human foreskins from male corpses using an experimental re-agent and growth hormone--and in doing so, he started a zombie apocalypse?" That's all I needed to write the lyrics to this song. Zombies, dead penile tissue, death metal, and grind are what's in store when you hear--and read--our newest preview song, ‘The Docking Dead.’

While on YouTube, take a listen to the band’s other available track, ‘The Flesh Mechanic’, here:

"Omen Of Disease" will be released in Europe on September 30 and on October 1 in North America on Century Media Records, with cover artwork painted by world-renowned horror artist Wes Benscoter, best known for his work with Slayer, Cattle Decapitation, Autopsy and Kreator. "Omen Of Disease" marks the first new music from Broken Hope in 15 years. The album was recorded between two studios: drums at Belle City Sound in Racine, WI, with engineer Chris Wisco (Lazarus A.D., Jungle Rot, Origin, Gorgasm), and the rest at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, IL, with engineer Scott Creekmore (Broken Hope, Dirge Within, Lividity).

Presuming you still have a hefty appetite after reading about experimental usage of foreskins, feast your eyes on the announcement of Broken Hope’s upcoming metal burger, debuting at their official listening party taking place on Sunday, September 29th at The Original Kuma’s Corner in Chicago, IL (2900 W. Belmont Ave). Listen to Omen Of Disease in its entirety and take a bite out of the Broken Hope Burger, joining the long line of other monumental metal burgers available at Kuma’s Corner! Zippo announces collaboration with Bandsintown Team

12/9/2013

Picture
Famous for its windproof pocket lighters, Zippo® has partnered with Bandsintown, the world’s largest concert discovery application with a monthly reach to over 30 million fans, to further strengthen the brand’s connection with musicians while generating new revenue opportunities for artists through custom Zippo merchandizing on social networks.

The partnership between Zippo and Bandsintown centers on music and how to engage with artists and their fans in innovative new ways:

  • For Fans: Bandsintown now powers the iconic brand’s popular Virtual Zippo Lighter application on iOS and Android, linking to concert tour dates for fan’s favorite artists directly within the free Zippo app.

  • For Artists: Via Bandsintown’s direct-to-fan “Specials” platform, artists have the opportunity to sell customized band lighters directly to fans, generating tour revenue beyond t-shirts and albums. Zippo selected Bandsintown Specials – launched last summer to allow artists to promote event-related merchandise and unique fan experiences – as its distribution method due to the tool’s ability to reach fans directly through an artist’s social networks like Facebook and Twitter, allowing direct interaction between the artist and fan and introducing Zippo to a new generation of consumers.

Brent Tyley, Zippo's Global Brand Manager states that:

“Zippo’s music marketing program – Encore – highlights our rich heritage in music and art through unique on-site festival activations, contests, and impactful programs that engage fans both online and off,” and “Through our Virtual Zippo Lighter app and our partnership with Bandsintown, we can now more deeply engage with Bandsintown concert-goers during live music events, bringing the same look and feel of Zippo’s iconic lighter to mobile devices. What’s more, Bandsintown Specials offers us a strong grassroots distribution channel to collaborate with artists to sell customized lighters to their fans.”

The CEO of Bandsintown, Julien Mitelberg had this to say:

“We are now starting to see how music is becoming an increasingly critical part of a brands marketing mix,” and “Through our Artist Platform, we are now connecting 160K artists with their fan base and with this announcement, we are evolving our business to help artists and brands align.”

An early example of the partnership is on display by metal band and Bandsintown artist Battlecross. Using Bandsintown Specials, the band’s management team polled their nearly 40,000 Facebook fans on which Zippo Windproof Lighter out of four custom designs they would like to see put into production, with hundreds of fans chiming in to voice their opinion. The final design was selected and is currently on sale for $29.95 through the band’s Facebook page.

Velda Garcia Fayz of the Fayz Media Group (who manages Battlecross) stated that:

“The engagement between Battlecross and its devoted fan base was through the roof, which demonstrates how fruitful this partnership between Zippo and Bandsintown can be for artists and their fans,” and that “The fan response was the most responded to post in the bands’ history, giving an opportunity for brands like Zippo to be part of that engagement and benefit by investing directly into reaching fans through mobile platforms and social media marketing.”

Zippo Encore, the company’s music campaign, has been on the road this summer sponsoring three of 2013’s biggest summer tours: Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival, featuring Alice In Chains, Jane’s Addiction and Coheed and Cambria; the 6th annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, featuring Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch and Mastodon; and country superstar Lee Brice’s tour with Brad Paisley. Also in summer festival news, Bandsintown is the official Facebook application of the 2013 Vans Warped Tour for the second year running.

Impaled to unleash re-recording of their debut album "The Dead Still Dead Remain"

10/9/2013

Picture
On the thirteen-year anniversary of Impaled's "The Dead Shall Dead Remain" debut, the group will be releasing a re-recording entitled "The Dead Still Dead Remain". Long tangled in legal limbo, the music from "The Dead Shall Dead Remain" has been unavailable on CD for over a decade. The re-recording dodges those legal hurdles and puts the music back in print.

The stakes were raised as Impaled sought to best the production of the original. "The Dead Still Dead Remain" features recording and mixing by Vinnie Wojno, famous for his work with Testament. Impaled and Wojno worked for three years to get the recording they wanted.

"It simply sounds better, no matter how you slice it. And we surely do slice it!" says guitarist Jason Kocol.

Impaled assures fans that the music on "The Dead Still Dead Remain" is faithful to the original. It features the return of vocalist Leon del Muerte, who says, "it was like the last thirteen years of backstabbing and spitefulness never happened!" Even the artwork, which the band insists has already been banned in 672 countries, harkens back to their first release but is even more revolting.

(Ed: Even though there are 196 countries in the world... we believe someone did not do their maths!)

The shit will hit the fans when Willowtip Records releases "The Dead Still Dead Remain" on October 29. Preorder info will be available soon at This location.

Picture
The long awaited 2nd album of Finnish Death Metal legends Purtenance is finished and is soon to be released through Xtreem Music. After 2012's comeback EP "Sacrifice the King" which got mixed feelings amongst fans, the band not only continued working on new songs, but also added a second guitarist named Ville Nokelainen and entered studios in spring 2013 to record the new album entitled "Awaken From Slumber" at the same time they offered their first shows in 20 years.

For those who expect a "Member…II", they won't find it here. That album was done over 20 years ago with a different line up. "Awaken From Slumber" album shows the heaviest and darkest side of the band. This is how Purtenance sounds in 2013!! F**king crushing, heavy and gloomy Death Metal with inhumanely brutal vocals. Those who weren't satisfied with their previous EP should give it a listen to this new album cos they'll be gladly surprised!!

Track listing for "Awaken From Slumber" is as follows:

01. Intro
02. Hatred
03. What Was Hidden
04. Toxic Death
05. Field of Terror
06. Vaikka Paahtuisin Tulessa
07. End for the Parasites (Called Humankind)
08. Hour of the Cannibal
09. Temptation of Suicide
10. Risen From Grave
11. Endless Abyss (outro)

Release date on CD format is scheduled for October 1st, being followed in November by a vinyl version.

Just after the release of the album, Purtenance will play their very first show outside Finland at Ritual Zombi Fest together with label mates Avulsed, Dissect (NL), Christ Denied & Onirophagus in October 12th to take place in Madrid (Spain).

You can already listen to an exclusive advance track on the following links:
