Danish Extreme Metallers Chronicle release new album "Demonology" in March; pre-orders available21/12/2019 Hailing from the northern part of Denmark, Chronicle is the bastard child of old-school thrash metal, melodic death metal & black metal, with a sprinkling of Finnish melody thrown in for good measure. Technical riffs and lightning fast drums are par for the course, when it comes to Chronicles music. And now the Danish band is ready to release their new album “Demonology"! “We've always strived towards a high level of technicality and musicianship in the music we write, and "Demonology" represents to us a big step into a heavier and more extreme direction, while maintaining our brand of catchy melodic death metal. We can't wait to share more info with you all in the coming months!" - Chronicle The new album was produced, mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (Meshuggah, The Haunted) at Antfarm Studios and will be released on March 27th 2020 on CD, vinyl and digital formats. It can be pre-ordered here: https://targetshop.dk/product/chronicle-demonology-cd https://targetshop.dk/product/chronicle-demonology-lp Line-up: Lars Bo Nepper: guitar/vocals Jari Sielemann Holopainen: drums Sebastian Skousgaard: guitar Jacob Wammen: bass https://www.facebook.com/ChronicleOfficialBand/ Chilean Death Metallers Inanna sign with Memento Mori to release their third album in 202121/12/2019 In their endless quest to push and support current underground acts that perpetuate the odour of vintage death metal, Memento Mori are extremely thrilled to announce a new signing: Inanna, from Chile. In a weird and horrific hallucination, guitarist/songwriter Diego Ilabaca received the revelation to create new music. Still in his teen years, he came up with the idea of fusing his favourite albums, Morbid Visions and Altars of Madness, with the mysticism and transcendence of the long and amazingly structured compositions of his '70s prog-rock heroes. It took a long time to find the right musicians to realize that vision. Once he did, and like the powerful gods of the Sumerian pantheon, Inanna came to life from the netherworld in 2000, obsessed with such early technical death metal acts as Atheist, Cynic, Death, and Pestilence, and plagued with the evil brutality of Suffocation, Deicide, Morbid Angel, Immolation, and Gorguts. Even though inspired by those acts, this four-piece entity walk a path of uniqueness through their own spheres and interdimensional portals. Unlike other ridiculously over-the-top, ultra-complex, soulless bands, Inanna seek inspiration in the outer worlds and the obscure abysses of the unknown, via demented growls, the nightmarish writings of H.P. Lovecraft, mythology, and ancient lore. Malice, death, and insanity, the human mind, and Cthulhu spells also lurk deep within the band's concept, like eerie sea tales from a distant century that one can only whisper in fear. After two albums and many a stage hit by Diego Ilabaca (guitars), Max Neira (bass/vocals), Carlos Fuentes (drums/guitars), and Cristobal Gonzalez (guitars) over the band's years of existence, Inanna are now ready to start creating their third full-length opus, whose CD version will be released by Memento Mori in 2021. Further details to follow in the coming months. "Today is a big day for us! In addition to celebrating 6 years since the band has been formed, we have many more news for you. Since many of you are eager for new music, we’re proud to announce that our new release, EP “The Test Of Time” will be released on February 20, 2020, the same day as our previous release. Of course, via Inferno Records! We’re extremely pleased we have an opportunity and honor to once again work with a man like Fabien Pinneteau. Also, another thing that hasn’t changed is collaboration with Luka Matković and Citadela Sound Production Studio. As previously announced, the EP is consisted of 3 songs, "Night Without Dawn", "The Test Of Time" featuring Emil Ivošević (Alexandra's boyfriend and singer of Sigma Epsilon), and a cover of song “Young & Proud“ by Demoniac (thanks Ljubo Marjanović for permission). The other thing you may notice is that the band continues to work as a trio. In conversation with our singer Anđelina Mitić, we came to the conclusion that there’s no more energy and enthusiasm in the band like it used to be... so we decided that Alexandra takes the microphone. We wish Anđelina all the best in the future! These 6 years have brought us many beautiful experiences and memories that we’ll remember forever. Another change you may notice is that a new bassist, Katarina Henc, is playing with us. This way we welcome her to the band! Our bass player, Nevena Ilić, gave birth about a month ago and brought another beautiful girl to the world. Considering that she’s currently unable to play, her job will be done by Kaća, and the time will tell how the things will further go. On drums is, as before, Marija Dragićević. Since she was on maternity leave during the recording, the drums were recorded by our friend, Nikola Simonović. And finally, we want to thank all the people who helped us get through this rough period and get on with it. You're wonderful! Expect more information from us after the New Year!" Norwegian Black & Roll veterans Vreid have announced their participation in the "Songs That Changed the World" project by the Nobel Peace Center and Inferno Metal Festival. The band will be commissioned to interpret and cover a song about freedom of expression. The song is yet to be determined. Vreid will perform this special song and their own material during a show at the Nobel Peace Center on April 7, 2020. Founder and bass player Hváll comments: "In Vreid we have always been up for new challenges. It was therefore with huge excitement we took on this task when Inferno Metal Festival and Nobel Peace Center challenged us to do our interpretation of a song that changed the world. Freedom of speech has been relevant since the very beginning of rock, and is just as relevant and important today. A lot has changed since rock 'n' roll was new and rebellious in the 60s, but still today the freedom of speech are controversial and debated, so maybe the world has been at a stand still over the last 60 years. We are thankful for the engagement. Vreid looks forward to dig deep into the rock history of many fantastic songs, and will be ready to perform our song at the Nobel Peace Center in April." More information on the Nobel Peace Center can be found HERE. Inferno Metal Festival will take place on April 9 - 12, in Oslo, Norway. Find more information on the festival HERE. Finnish Cello Metal veterans Apocalyptica release brand new video for 'En Route To Mayhem'18/12/2019 Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rock band Apocalyptica have released the video for ‘En Route To Mayhem’, which will transport the viewer to a fantastical post-humanity future. This imaginary world is barren, dusty, and littered with broken pieces of things once considered essential to humankind such as bits of plastic, a teddy bear, crumbling structures, cell phones and computers, bleached bones, and long-forgotten musical instruments. The setting is devoid of mankind, but brimming with the hope of new life; and then one day, thunder, lightning, and one drop at a time, it begins to rain, and Mother Nature steps in. Check out the ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video HERE. Apocalyptica’s Eicca Toppinen comments:- “‘En Route To Mayhem’ is a journey of hedonic needs growing into greed and aggression, driving into inner mayhem and ending without satisfaction. This video underlines the fact that however we think we are in control by destroying things and life around us, life itself will take over in the end, always. We are not in control of the bigger picture, and we should be aware of it and raise our respect to life around us.” The ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video is in support of Apocalyptica’s upcoming album, Cell-0, due out January 10th, 2020 via Silver Lining Music. Produced by Apocalyptica – cellists Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, and Paavo Lötjönen, and drummer Mikko Sirén and mixed by Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, Metallica and Black Sabbath), and recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki. The recording of Cell-0 followed a four-year break between albums that gave the band a fresh perspective and affected the way they approached the new music. Cell-0 is the quartet's first instrumental album in 17 years and found the musicians challenging themselves to discover new flavours and colours in their respective instruments. For Cell-0 pre-order options, go to this location. Perttu Kivilaakso comments:- “Cell-0 has a concept which is to challenge the listeners to question themselves and ask “Am I doing the best I can for the environment, for other beings? Is there still something I can change?” To highlight environmental issues, the band wanted to ask fans to do something for our planet; so to coincide with the release of the new video, they have launched a very special competition, which will give fans the chance to win the opportunity for Apocalyptica to play in their living room. To enter, fans will need to show the band how they are making the planet a healthier place for everyone. Fans can head to their Facebook page and comment with photos/videos showing what they are doing to help the planet and telling the band why they should be picked as a winner. To find out more information, head to the band’s Facebook page. The online contest is open to all European fans from now and will close at 7:00 pm CET Friday, January 10th, 2020. Full terms and conditions can be found here. In concert, Apocalyptica are known for their moving live performances and will kick off the New Year as Special Guests on Sabaton's 15-country, 23-date European arena tour that begins on January 17, 2020 in Zurich, Switzerland. With a set list that will likely vary night to night, Apocalyptica's performances will be comprised of new songs from Cell-0 as well as from the band's rich catalogue. Tickets are on sale now; go to https://www.apocalyptica.com for all pre-sales, VIP packages, and ticketing details.
