Fate Destroyed, the Los Angeles-based band fronted by Franccesca De Struct, unveils a haunting new video for their cover of the classic "In the Pines" today via Metal Injection. Watch the video here: https://metalinjection.net/video/fate-destroyed-rocks-this-awesome-lead-belly-blues-cover-for-in-the-pines-and-makes-it-heavy "In the Pines," also known as "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?" and "My Girl," is a traditional folk song made famous by legendary blues artist Lead Belly and later achieved commercial success through Nirvana's take on the track. "I saw 'In the Pines' as the ultimate musical challenge," De Struct says. "Was it possible to take a widely known folk song, something completely the antithesis of my genre, and make it industrial? The answer was a resounding yes. This passion project came from a place of musical discovery. It gave me the chance to take a base concept and see just how much I could mould it into something entirely new." Fate Destroyed was formed by De Struct in 2016 with an aim to provide a fierce new take on the metal status quo. Led by the raw emotion of De Struct's vocals, Fate Destroyed combines visceral guitars and driving synths to leverage the gap between hard hitting '90s industrial and modern heavy metal. Fate Destroyed is rounded out by Roger Bohlen on guitar, Nathan YoungBlood (Green Jelly/Dirty Machine) on bass and Ben Levi (Matriarchs) on drums. www.fiveringsproductions.com/fate-destroyed www.facebook.com/FateDeStroyed/ www.fatedestroyed.com/ www.reverbnation.com/fatedestroyed Today Italian groove metallers Nemesis Inferi unleash their personal tribute to Billy Idol’s classic anthem “Shock To The System”. The song will be included on the upcoming compilation “FantaRock (Watchers Of The Sky) - One Hour Of Fantarock” conceived and developed by the renowned Italian journalist Mario Gazzola. https://youtu.be/hugrmgp_eoA “Usually we don’t cover other bands’ songs, but the opportunity offered us by Nee Cee Agency to be part of this cool compilation was very challenging and exciting. We thought it was cool to propose something different and distant from our genre. We needed a song connected with rock and sci-fi. So, after a night spent drinking beers and eating pulled pork, we said: ‘Let’s play Billy Idol! Shock To The System!”. Nemesis Inferi are currently working on the follow-up to the 2018’s acclaimed latest full-length album “A Bad Mess”. Crafted in the Bergamo area around January 1997 by the singer, guitarist, main composer and only original member G.M. Gain, Nemesis Inferi fulfil the precise need to explore the groove metal influences and the gothic imaginary of four musicians with several years of experience behind them. Nemesis Inferi’s style does not simply rework influences that are anything but obvious, such as the most tempered grunge, the recent evolution of American hard rock and the roots of extreme metal, but also aims its inspiration to the goal of an immediately recognizable and really personal sound. Pumped by an expressive power and rhythmic dynamics difficult to find in other contemporary bands, the music of Nemesis Inferi is open-wide even in terms of concept, offering a deep lyrical approach inspired by true stories of everyday life, of course preserving a visceral fascination for the occult. Melting the tragic romances of Type O Negative with the cold isolationism of Bathory, the lysergic journeys of Led Zeppelin with the visual impact of Rob Zombie, the angry disquiet of Slayer with the resigned pain of Alice In Chains, Nemesis Inferi prove themselves capable of inducing a huge cinematic effect on the listener. The music of Nemesis Inferi overcomes the limits of definitions, conveying a message of dedication to art and expressive freedom in the clearest and frankest sense. The true essence of music transcends the real perception and creates a virtuous circle between a violent impact and transcendent suggestions. LINE-UP G.M. The song is an arrangement of one of Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Season violin concertos. Watch "Winter" via MetalInjection.net at the following link: http://www.metalinjection.net/video/cydeminds-violin-metal-shred-was-made-for-winter-in-this-beautiful-video As the Montreal-based quintet is led by classical violinist Olivier Allard, it was natural for the band to showcase its classical sound in this music video as Oliver explains:- "It’s always been in Cydemind’s side-projects to make metal covers of classical music pieces. What better way to start than with one of my favourite violin concertos by Vivaldi!" Co-directors Vincent Allard and Juliette Guerin hopped in the project without hesitation: "Vivaldi’s Winter violin concerto is already such a cinematic piece with lots of contrast. It was a great challenge to find landscapes that could match both our view of Quebec’s winter while maintaining Cydemind’s highly energetic approach to the piece." The video was shot in various locations in Quebec, Canada. Scheduled to be filmed in March 2018, the project was postponed to February 2019 due to bad weather. Guitarist Kevin Paquet adds:- "As much as we had no luck last year, karma was on our side this year. The weather was fabulous, I think it definitely highlights the splendour of our Canadian winters." “Winter” was recorded at The Grid studio in collaboration with producer Christian Donaldson (The Agonist, Cryptopsy, Beyond Creation). The artwork was created by Cydemind’s own drummer Alexandre Dagenais. "Winter" is available for stream and download on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify, and all other major platforms, where you can also find Cydemind’s debut album Erosion (2017). In a world where so much music is bland and generic, Cydemind is a breath of fresh air! Mixing progressive rock, jazz, classical, and progressive metal, Montreal-based Cydemind is a special and unique band, one we’ll be hearing a lot more from in the future. Influenced by such bands as Dream Theater. Symphony X. Haken, Neal Morse Band, and jazzmen like Avishai Cohen and Tigran Hamasyan, violinist Olivier Allard describes their sound as “violin meets instrumental prog metal!”. Prolific artists, Cydemind released its first EP ‘Through Mists and Ages’ back in 2014 and soon after its single ‘What Remains’. After a few years of writing and refining their sound, the quintet (violin, bass, piano, guitar, drums) came back with their first full-length album. Entitled ‘Erosion’, its six tracks are centred around the theme of nature and its persistence through time. Epic is the word here, with one track clocking in at an impressive 27 minutes. ‘Erosion’ was released independently on Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and all major online retailers. Cydemind then branched off a bit from the usual metal band musical path to produce the music for the indie video game ‘Navyblue and the Spectrum Killers’. The game released in September 2018 and is available on Steam. In addition to writing the whole soundtrack for the game, Cydemind also released two singles ‘Navyblue’ and ‘Lights of Iberia’ as bonus content for the game. To further expand their musical soundscape and reach new audiences, the versatile band released its first music video ‘Winter’ in March 2019. The single is an arrangement of Vivaldi’s ‘Winter violin concerto’ from the Four Seasons. Shot in various locations in Quebec, Canada, the video highlights both the majestic Canadian winter and the highly energetic performance of the band. In addition to their recording experiences, the band has performed many times in the Montreal area since 2011 in venues like Foufounes Électriques, Katacombes, Theatre Plaza and more. They recently created the first edition of Proggy Nights in Canada, a small tour that reunited 3 Canadian prog bands in Québec City, Montreal and Toronto. Aside from their performance expertise, Olivier (violin) and Camille (piano) have also been teaching their instrument for many years. Olivier is a doctorate student in violin performance at University of Montreal, while Camille graduated from the classical piano program at CEGEP St-Laurent in Montreal. http://www.cydemind.com http://www.twitter.com/cydemind http://www.instagram.com/cydemind http://www.twitter.com/cydemind Florida's Auditory Armoy have just released a video of their cover of Type O Negative's "Love You To Death". Teaming up with Swedish wizard and legendary metal producer Fredrik Nordström of Studio Fredman, the crew have created a version that we can now party all the time too! Lagerstein guitarist Neil Rummy Rackers had this to say on the new single: “We started playing this song in practice for fun a while back when someone was late. We knew immediately that it would work in a live setting. Since then we have performed it all through Europe, UK and Australia, so it was only fitting that for Lagerfest V we release it as a single. We were very excited to be working with the legendary Fredrik Nordström in Sweden who has made it sound absolutely massive!” Check it out here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vi2ISIp_aoA Lagerfest V starts Saturday in Melbourne at Max Watts. "As my Spirit LP collection grew, I played this song for Rob Wrong," explains Nate Carson. "He recognized the riff because it had been sampled in the Brother Ali song, ‘Sleepwalker’. That was cool because it meant we each had a connection to the song, from different angles. We both thought 'Mechanical World' was classic, unique. So we played it for Justin and Kayla in the tour van, and they both latched onto it immediately. We especially liked hearing a woman sing these lyrics without changing the pronouns. That always freshens things up. Our arrangement is the same as the original but tuned down a few steps to make it heavier." We Gotta Know (originally performed by Cro-Mags) RIAA-certified, Billboard chart-topping, five-time Grammy nominated Richmond, VA band Lamb Of God recently announced the release of their highly-anticipated full-length covers album as Burn The Priest - Legion: XX - a collection of songs reflecting the greatness of the classic punk, hardcore, crossover and noise artists that influenced them in their formative years, executed with their signature modern sound.
Legion: XX features tracks originally performed by Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front, Quicksand, Ministry, Bad Brains, Melvins, S.O.D., the Accused, Big Black, and Richmond punk band Sliang Laos. Produced with Josh Wilbur at the helm, Legion: XX exhibits BURN THE PRIEST in their true element. Following up on the surprise release of their cover of the Accused's "Inherit The Earth" last month, the band is releasing another blistering track from Legion: XX - a charging cover of Big Black's "Kerosene". Listen now via http://burn-the-priest.com. "Big Black is a very important band to me," says vocalist Randy Blythe. "When I was 12 and first listening to punk rock, I thought all punk came from England - but then through skating, I got into Black Flag and Bad Brains. I soon discovered this super-smart American punk rock - very caustic, and deeply sardonic about the murky side of the human experience. That got me into Steve Albini's future bands Shellac and Rapeman - and all the noisy smart punk rock on labels like AmRep and Touch & Go. 'Kerosene' was one of their biggest songs, if they even had one. It speaks to small-town boredom." Legion: XX will be released on May 18, 2018 via Epic Records in celebration of Burn The Priest's upcoming 20th anniversary. Pre-orders and merch bundles are available now via http://burn-the-priest.com and fans can stream "Inherit The Earth" and "Kerosene" here: http://btp.lnk.to/legionxx. On street date, a 7" vinyl version of "Inherit the Earth" featuring a B-side of "In the Meantime" (originally performed by Helmet), will also be available. Lamb Of God may be one of the biggest bands in modern metal, but they will never forget where they came from. Mark Morton (guitar), John Campbell (bass), and Chris Adler (drums) formed the first incarnation of the band, Burn The Priest, in the winter of 1994 after meeting four years earlier as students at Virginia Commonwealth University. Less than a year later, in the summer of 1995, they met vocalist Randy Blythe before adding Chris Adler's brother, Willie Adler (guitar), prior to transitioning to Lamb Of God - and the rest is global metal history. The tracks on Legion: XX are performed with the unmistakable precision that has kept Lamb Of God vital for two decades, but ultimately harks back to the raw, punk-driven sound first explored by four unsuspecting college students and a line cook-turned-vocalist in their beginnings as heavy music giants. Waiting to release "This is Gonna Hurt" (first single taken from the new album who will be available during the next winter), metalcore crew Sharks In Your Mouth has revealed a cover version of Eminem international hit "Lose Yourself". About the track the band says: "All members of our bands have hip-hop roots, and we wanted to express our love for one of the greatest artist of all the time by mixing up our style and a classic song like 'Lose Yourself'. It was a challenge, because it’s not easy to transform a simple beat into a metalcore song and we hope that our fan-base and the rest of the audience will like our choice. As many of our followers knows, our style on stage is dark, we play every show since 2014 by painting our bodies in black, what we call our “war paint”, it’s a pre show ritual for us. Lose yourself is a different shade of Sharks In Your Mouth and it’s one of the most funniest thing that we have done since we started this band". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMKC7mPUkYQ "Lose Yourself" is available in every digital store in streaming and download.
