The mentioned first full-length album also won the award for “best debut album” in their home country. ► divideD - A Hundred Times EP
► The remixes as described by the band: Lounge jazz remix: "Sometimes a falling out that leads to breaches in friendship can also unleash creative energies in the band, and this version is a shining example of that. We’ve felt for a long time that A Hundred Times has the potential to work in a completely new approach with a different instrumentation. So when the aforementioned problems prevented us from testing some of the new gear in our home studio, all we’ve left is an acoustic guitar and the mood of American pubs of the ‘50’s - ‘60’s. To crown the performance and deliver a more authentic feeling and scent of cigar smoke and Tennessee whisky, we’ve invited our friend András Schubert to enrich the song with Saxophone." Campfire / unplugged: "We’ve always wanted to make a puritan, acoustic guitar-only version of this song, but we’ve always had something more important to do. The ‘Lounge remix’ already introduced the utilization of acoustic guitars, so now re-arranging the vocals is all we had to do to create a version that makes you remember on cold winter days what it’s like to sit beside a campfire on summer nights for a few minutes." 8-bit remix: "Belmont and PsyKlone are huge Cadillacs & Dinosaurs fans for at least twenty years, and the whole theme/design of the Modulus album was based on Konami’s classic arcade games, so it was almost mandatory to create a version fitting for the pixel-graphic artwork of the booklet. Belmont approached TomboFry, who’s known for his 8-bit YouTube videos, to make an 8-bit version of the song. He even programmed an additional solo to it. To see a Cadillac with a divideD logo in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by dinosaurs is a dream came true." EP version: "The 2015 version of the song, as it was released originally on our first material. Different sound and mixing than the album version." Live: "Live recording of the song as it was performed on Stagediving Festival earlier this year. The whole show was recorded with multiple cameras in good quality, and will be released at a later date. This first song is a token to those who attended the event, and a taste of the band’s live performance for those who have never seen us live." The new album from Moldovan group Francis is entitled A Million Years Of Loneliness and highlights many urgent and serious problems of our time; personal, social, political and global, with acute social issues coming to the forefront. The themes of the eternal struggle for the right to “live in the sun”, for the right to be the first, for the right to reach the most difficult and daring dreams don’t leave the listener throughout the entire track list. On a musical side, the material is a mixture of extreme metal and a more melodic direction of modern metal music, as well as interspersed with symphonic and electronic arrangements. The melodic sound came from the influence of bands working in completely different genres: As I Lay Dying, Arch Enemy, Nightwish, etc. Aggressive couplets and breakdowns with melodic choruses are created in the style of Metalcore/Melodic Death and coexist with thrash, death and modern-metal elements. The vocal parts are represented by a combination of extreme vocals with a clean voice, which expanded the creative space for the music’s authors and gave the tracks a striking motif matched by a clear, bright voice. Thus, the recording involved two vocalists. The composition of the texts on A Million Years Of Loneliness involved the whole group agreeing on different opinions in a single concept for each individual song. The special uniqueness of the texts of the album consist of describing the atmosphere of the problems of each topic. Francis offer the listener not only a specific social, philosophical or personal problem, as food for thought, but also an interpretation of their own emotional feelings of a certain situation, thereby motivating the listener to intuitively comprehend the composition. Guitar parts were recorded in home studios. Mixing and mastering services, as well as aid in the arrangements, was provided by the studio MoonHome after a long search for the optimal sound of all instruments. Not afraid to take risks, I Promised Once is proud to premiere their single, "Break," that showcases their diversity and includes an element not often found in metal; rap. While I Promised Once has used EDM as an influence in the past, the band wanted to experiment further with different genres and they knew that Blumio would be the perfect fit. Guitarist Nils shared the band's thoughts when writing the track, "We wanted to make it a collaboration with someone that fits our concept of “Borderless Metalcore”. Luckily, we knew just the right guy: Blumio. We first made the hip-hop beat/verse for Blumio, and then constructed the rest of the song around it with our signature riffing & a huge breakdown. The rhythm of the song goes a bit into nu-metal territory and is reminiscent of old classics like Limp Bizkit & Korn." Lyrically, I Promised Once to create a song to empower listeners to stand up for themselves no matter what life throws at them. Nils explained, "There will always be people talking behind your back who will try to put you down and will try to stop you from achieving your dreams." "Salvation" will be out on 2/23 and pre-orders of the record are available now on Merchbucket. The band had one last piece of advice for listeners that are experiencing people trying to tear them down, "Remember, those people have no power over what destiny you are creating for yourself, so give them the middle finger and keep going your own way!" It's something The Bunny The Bear's frontman, Matthew Tybor, has been doing for years while struggling with substance abuse. It was that struggle that inspired the new song, "I Am Free", which the band is proud to premiere the video for. The powerful lyrics of the song (This is the last time that I'll walk ashamed of my choices, this emptiness, feeding my future to flames. This is the day I will finally be free of these demons, addictions that keep me in chains. I am free) are extremely personal to Tybor as he is currently in recovery and is no longer using. He explains, "[substance abuse] can seem like a seeming endless struggle to overcome such demons. Booze, pills, whatever really. A huge bulk of society struggles with some, or all of the above, myself included. Sometimes you have no choice but to find that sliver of hope within all the despair." This video is special as the band shot footage on during shows in a few of their favourite cities and put together a live video for the second single off their upcoming Needful Things Records release "The Way We Rust". Tybor shares, "I couldn't be more stoked with how the video turned out. I hope our fans, old and new, enjoy this video as much as I do." "The Way We Rust" will be be out on March 17th and is available for pre-order now at Merchbucket. Watch "I Am Free" Now The Bunny The Bear Links Merchbucket Needful Things Links |
