The new maxi-single from Scottish doom metal Group MisophoniA is entitled "Sorrows Of Yesterday" and it’s essentially a metaphoric musical coin. Sorrows Of Yesterday Pt. I is a despairing piano driven dirge, laden with dark orchestral undertones which serves as the prelude to the guitar driven bombast that is Sorrows Of Yesterday Pt. II. As a whole this is an emotional piece written from both the depths of depression and the highs of breaking free from its shackles. Sorrows Of Yesterday Pt. II is the catharsis and release you feel when you have overcome your demons. This is a complete reversal in pace and tone from what came before. Part II is a high energy guitar driven piece that punches you in the face from the off and is very much a middle finger to all the negatives in life. As a whole Sorrows Of Yesterday is here to remind us how powerful music can be and how it can build bridges and mend the soul when life beats you down. MisophoniA are:

Metal heroes Sabaton make an exciting announcement: With their fascination for the stories of World War I and two dedicated studio albums filled to the brim with stories from this conflict, the band from Falun have decided to dive even deeper into this topic with their newest release: The EP trilogy entitled Echoes Of The Great War. This new EP trilogy features new songs specifically about World War I, coupled with topically related catalogue music. You read that right! Sabaton has been busy in the studio recording some new music for their fans. With this WWI collection, the band aims to present this music in a different way, enabling the listener to familiarise themselves with these incredible war stories, while simultaneously quenching the thirst for metal music. Commenting on the new project, Pär Sundström states: “This trilogy complements our two studio albums The Great War and The War To End All Wars. We were definitely not ready to close our World War I chapter. We wanted to continue the journey and let it echo a little longer in the hearts and minds of our fans." The first in the series, Weapons Of The Modern Age, is OUT NOW. In times of conflict, science is very much linked to the war system. The First World War witnessed some of the biggest leaps in scientific evolution, weaponizing land, sea and skies in ways never witnessed before. This EP sheds light on the powerful and devastating tactics used to fight the war, and kicking off this release is Sabaton's new track, 'Father'. Sharing his insight on the track, Joakim Broden declares: “Our new song 'Father' is a dark track about a very controversial person. Fritz Haber, the man who weaponized lethal gas, is responsible for about 4 billion people being alive today thanks to the Haber-Bosch process that he won a Nobel Prize for. It takes some serious thought to wrap your head around his story. Things aren’t always easy to understand or simply black and white, but rather all shades of grey. 'Father' really forces you to think a bit more than the average song you hear on the radio." Stream it now: https://music.sabaton.net/WeaponsOfTheModernAge Sabaton is releasing a limited edition digipak in limited numbers, so if you want to get your hands on a physical copy of the EP for your collection, be quick! Get the digipak (LIMITED) > http://nblast.de/Sabaton-WOTMA Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the other two EPs in this new trilogy: Heroes Of The Great War The songs on the second EP in the collection, Heroes Of The Great War, are a nod to some of the Great War’s fearless heroes who left a legacy worthy of a thousand songs. Men and women pushed themselves to their physical and psychological limits, accomplishing almost superhuman things. In this EP, Sabaton pay tribute to heroes whose unique stories resonated with the band, and whose narratives are truly inspiring. Stories From The Western Front The third EP in the series, Stories From The Western Front, features songs about some of the most gripping tales from one of World War I’s main theatres of war. These stories, some of which are unimaginable in this day and age, depict the chaos, danger and instability soldiers faced on the daily, who were fighting in the name of their countries. For the sake of atmospheric continuity, and staying true to the sound of both The Great War and The War To End All Wars albums, Sabaton have continued to work with Black Lounge Studios – more notably, Jonas Kjellgren, the band's long time producer and recording engineer. The three new EP releases will be available on all major digital music services. Sabaton will also release an exclusive, limited edition Digipak with every EP. The only choice we had was to use technology to salvage our socialization. The lyrical inspiration came directly from that. All I can say is this: go outside, see your friends. Don't live your life behind a screen.” The accompanying video perfectly captures the essence of the song. Tony explains: “We had a concept of being trapped in a facility that experimented on people. They escape and go through all these twists and turns to get out, but really they are still doing that in the simulation. It really ties in the with lyrics, about humanity having total control over everything including the ability to manipulate decision making.” We shot it at an abandoned school that we sometimes rehearse at and the long corridors really gave off that vibe that we wanted, especially for some of the later scenes. They made it feel like the place was almost a labyrinth so it tied in with the story board nicely.” Having spent the summer winning over fans via appearances at The Great Escape, 2000 Trees, Download and Bloodstock Festivals, Defects will undertake a headline tour of the UK in support of the EP in October. With multiple years on the road in their former bands playing alongside acts such as Iron Maiden, Bring Me The Horizon, Shinedown, Disturbed and Bullet For My Valentine, Defects now look forward to delivering their own shows for their rapidly growing fanbase. "After so long of being absent from the music scene it feels great to put on our own headline shows. The set is packed with new songs and vibes that will make you want to mosh. Can't wait to see you out there." The cassette version is limited to 100 copies and also includes four exclusive live tracks on Side B. The first single from Agony Reborn, "The Unwilling," will be released on October 14 on all digital platforms, along with the official video for the track. The EP, which is the final release of the Blood Blast Distribution deal, consists of three original studio recordings and a cover of Sepultura's "Dead Embryonic Cells." Gorgatron is currently seeking a new label for release of the band's recently recorded full-length album. Interested parties should contact [email protected]. Gorgatron's sound is based on a “love of the riff” approach to writing and rooted in the old-school stylings of Death Metal and Thrash, one that comes across loud and clear on Agony Reborn. The EP is a product of what the band has dubbed the “Covid Sessions." As further explained by bassist Cameron Dewald: "We were on track to do a bunch of touring etc to support our last album Pathogenic Automation (2020) but clearly and for obvious reasons that didn’t happen… So instead we stayed as busy as we could in 2020 and 2021, played a few shows and hashed out some new tunes. The cover for 'Dead Embyronic Cells' was originally for Metal Injections Slay At Home series, but we ended up holding onto it and found a suitable home for it on this EP." Pre-order Agony Reborn:
The idea for the band started sometime around 2006. After a couple demos and line-up changes, the first record Torturtorium was released independently in 2010. The line-up changed again for the sophomore LP Inner Supremacy, and was released independently in 2015. Rapidly rising as one of Melbourne's brightest progressive metal outfits, Ironstone demonstrate an astounding level of musical ingenuity as they blend layers of crushing, low tuned guitars and technical rhythm with groove, hooks and melody galore. Greatly influenced by progressive metal giants such as Periphery, Tesseract and Twelve Foot Ninja, Ironstone craft clever, quirky songs that offset melodic choruses and atmospheric layers with heavy breakdowns and extreme vocals. The result is a juggernaut of modern metal that is both sophisticated and hard hitting. Finnish four piece Apocalyptica have dropped their very own Cello-Metal reinterpretation of classical bangers with the new EP Metal Classic, Classic Metal. Release day also sees the band unleash the focus track 'Flight of the Bumblebees' originally by Nikolai Rimski-Korsakow. On the EP's focus track, Perttu Kivilaakso states: "'Flight of the Bumblebee' is one of the most well-known virtuosic pieces. I have played it during my classical years many times, always aiming for faster and faster performances. This time I thought it would be the coolest thing to make a rough and heavy 'Bee' for our band, basically creating the slowest and most doomy 'Bumblebee' ever! It's fascinating how musical structures can work out in many various ways! This 'Bee' is heavy and angry, but surely flies out with a smile on her face and a blink in it's eye!" Metal Classic, Classic Metal also includes a new version of Beethoven’s '5th Symphony' as well as a re-do of Maurice Ravel’s 'Bolero'. The full EP is available HERE. American metalcore outfit Pistacia revisit the heyday of emo with new single “It Was The Cat”10/9/2022 Boston’s Pistacia is bringing forth a new brand of metalcore with their debut EP “Edgy”. Through personal and poignant lyrics they confront relatable issues set to emotional and powerful music. So far, they have released a handful of singles, and the next one up is “It Was The Cat”, focusing on self-harm. Making music for people who are scared and voiceless is their passion and they are not afraid to get specific about what happens in the mind of the mentally ill. On this single, they offer hope and understanding and a flashback to the days when people used the explanation that “the cat did it” in reference to marks on their arms. The band explains the creation of the single: “The single began almost accidentally; Ben and Théo were in Florida on tour with their former band, exhausted from the road and performance, and aching to write some new music that would reflect the artistic changes they’d undergone as a result. Ben cracked away at that which he does best: writing filthy hardcore riffs and Théo took initiative to make as poppy a chorus arrangement as possible. Years later, the track was revived and Vic worked her magic, pouring her anguish and rage into finely tuned stanzas that packed punch. They entered a Berklee rehearsal room with sketches, with the makings of a metal banger, and left with the instantiation of their ardor”. Pistacia formed when vocalist Vic Gregg desired to be on stage instead of behind the merch booth. Fuelled by passion and a desire to realize her high school dreams, she learned how to scream and put the line-up together with her classmates. They started as a Pierce the Veil ensemble but later began writing originals. To date, they have released five singles, and are gearing up to release their EP in the fall. They promise that each of the tracks on it are full-fledged bangers that will provoke and challenge the listener. “It Was The Cat” is heavy in both lyrics and music and boasts sick breakdowns and the most 2007 chorus since MySpace reigned the internet. It's catchy and will have you dancing regardless of the dark imagery. It is recommended for fans of Pierce the Veil, Slipknot, and Bring Me the Horizon. “Edgy” is out on October 21, 2022.
Live Band Line Up:
Following in the wake of FORTÍÐ's highly praised sixth album, "World Serpent", which also won the prestigious "album of the month" titles in German magazines Metal Hammer and Sonic Seducer, the band now offers a first glimpse of great things to come in the shape of the two-track EP "Dómur um dauðan hvern" ("Judgement of Everyone Dead"). The Icelandic pagan black metal trio now reveals the lyric video single 'För' ("Journey") as a tasty sample of the MCD, which is slated for release on November 18, 2022.
FORTÍÐ comment: "The first track on the 'Dómur um dauðan hvern' EP is called 'För', which translates to 'journey', but the word can also be taken to mean 'marks' as in the plural of a mark", mastermind Einar Eldur Thorberg aka Einar Thorberg Guðmundsson explains. "Well, both translations apply in this case, because this song deals with mankind's journey throughout the ages and the indelible marks that we leave behind." With their two-track EP "Dómur um dauðan hvern" ("Judgement of Everyone Dead"), FORTÍÐ sent out an impressive sign of life. The Icelandic pagan black metal outfit continues in the massive footprints that their current album "World Serpent" has left. Epic Icelandic melodies, sharp riffing that draws from black, death, thrash, and heavy metal as well as Einar Eldur Thorberg's distinct vocals combine into fiery and spirited new songs. At the end of December 2020, FORTÍÐ were visibly on the rise. Having moved back to Iceland and with a new line-up, mastermind Einar scored heavily with "World Serpent" in soundchecks, end of the year lists in the press and with sales soaring as well, it looked like those descendants of the Vikings were about to set sail again and take the world by storm. The world had other plans. For all too well known reasons, FORTÍÐ ended up stuck at home instead of touring. Instead of twiddling thumbs, FORTÍÐ decided to hone their weapons by writing new material and to weather out the global storm season in their rehearsal room and later in the studio to make the best out of the situation. The first new songs on "Dómur um dauðan hvern" demonstrate that "World Serpent" was not an accidental success, but that this album represents a new height, which the Icelanders, with many years of experience under their belts and still burning with passion, have securely reached and hold on to.

American post industrialists Zeistencroix release new EP ‘Cruxi-Fiction’ and video “Ice Queen”27/8/2022 Post-industrial band Zeistencroix releases its new EP, Cruxi-Fiction, via Pavement Entertainment. Cruxi-Fiction follows the band’s debut album, Gen Z, which dropped back in 2019. Zeistencroix recorded Cruxi-Fiction at Stygian Sound, a private studio located at the renowned Sound City Center, and at ES Audio Recording Studios in Burbank, California. With the support of producers Tim Palmer and Alex Crescioni, Zeistencroix unleashes a 5-track EP that cultivates a unique post-industrial sound with both heavy and ethereal cyberpunk vibes.
Vocalist and songwriter Orlando “OD” Draven touches on the ideology of the EP, saying, “Cruxi-Fiction is an ode to nihilism. There’s no control, no love, and no future. We’re trapped in a hellish loop and robbed of our freedom and relationship aspirations. Everyone obeys in trends à la 1984.” Zeistencroix has also released the lyric video “Ice Queen” in conjunction with Cruxi-Fiction. Icy and snowy visuals pair perfectly with the sombre song’s themes of heartbreak. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Zeistencroix is Orlando “OD” Draven (vocals), Santiago “Santi” Rivillas (drums), and Eddie “AKO” Jackson Zambrano (guitars). The band’s powerful sound is a blend of metal, industrial, progressive, alternative, and goth. Zeistencroix has toured both across the US and internationally.
