Indian Grindcore legends Grossty have been shocking the nation ever since their inception. From their vulgar pelvic thrusts on stage to their audacious themes encapsulated in the wonderful T Bare McClough artwork (ex-Transcending Obscurity staff member from UK), Grossty's 'Crocopter' debut is probably the most awaited album in the underground. Expect nothing less than over-the-top neck-snapping madness. With song titles like 'Mermaid Marriage', 'Proud to be a Pervert', 'Pussy Bun' and 'Tortoise on a Tree', you get the gist. Each song has special demented lyrics with some artwork reference or the other included in the artwork. There are two such artworks - one for the album cover, one for the slipcase. Each physical product comes with a poster of the 'Hexesquigglid' (slipcase artwork). This is madness and wild fantasies channelized through punk / crust-laced grindcore. Two vocalists make sure the 20-minute long 'Crocopter' experience is colourful as the drummer breaks records (and heads) with his insane speed and versatility. Mastered in the US, nothing has been compromised on. If you thought originality was lacking in grindcore, here's a fresh take on the whole style - without diminishing the fun element. Like it or be repulsed, 'Crocopter' will go down as one of the most outstanding albums of this genre. Transcending Obscurity (India/Asia) Bandcamp (Pre-orders are ON!) Taken from their long-awaited new album, 'Voices', the video features live footage from the band's recent performance at KL Metalcamp festival, which took place on May 1st in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Wormrot frontman Arif comments: "Fallen into Disuse is about unconscious abandonment from reality. Desperately trying to be accepted into the norm. At the very least. Failed miserably." The new music video and album are the first to feature Wormrot's new drummer, Vijesh, who brings a fresh and fitting sound to one of the most original bands in the Grindcore scene. Combined with Rasyid's godlike grind riffage and Arif's distinct vocals switching effortlessly between deep guttural growls and rasping screams, the band's third full-length goes far beyond expectations from a band that already can seemingly do no wrong. Singaporean grindcore trio WORMROT have announced their long-awaited return with the reveal of their brand new studio album, 'Voices'. Over five years after the band's last full-length release, 2011's 'Dirge' and the 2009 debut 'Abuse', WORMROT are back with the same intensity which put them comfortably alongside the likes of NAPALM DEATH, TERRORIZER, BRUTAL TRUTH and the rest of the grindcore elite. Following the departure of founding member Fitri, 'Voices' introduces brand new member Vijesh on drums, who brings a fresh and fitting sound to one of the most original bands the scene has had perhaps since its inception. Combined with Rasyid's godlike grind riffage and Arif's distinct vocals switching effortlessly between deep guttural growls and rasping screams, the band's third full-length goes far beyond expectations from a band that already can seemingly do no wrong. WORMROT guitarist Rasyid comments: "It's been way too long; it's finally the right time to do this. We're thrilled to finally release our most heartfelt album to date."

With the extra two years under their belt, having toured across the USA & then around the UK with Benighted, the band, with new vocalist Bernard in tow, comes back to the fore with a new approach, an impending European tour, and resulting new EP; "It Came To This", out on 5th July 2016. Guitarist Mike Robertson explains that the band has strayed from, "the usual death metal lyrical theatrics of gore / violence / horror / shock and the likes and heads down a more self-analysing approach with a Grindcore appeal." "This is the first born of the experiment," he goes on to state. "It's more about the protagonist's own internal workings, his crippling self-degradation and his drowning uncertainty, than our predecessors desire to slice apart women and shout about blood." Listen To Single 'Isolation Frenzy' From The New EP Here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvld34v6EwE "The recordings were made across a few places. The drums were recorded in Edinburgh at Juvat Studios by our friend JamieT. Immediately after, a few hours down the M6, the guitar, bass and vocals were recorded at Drop The Dumbulls Gallery; a DIY (in the strictest sense and most genuine way possible) bar / venue / practice room / studio / house in Liverpool's old dockside quarter, by the talented producer and drummer 'Trippy Pijin' of Horsebastard fame. The final cuts were then sent off to Tom Dring, drummer of Corrupt Moral Altar, who runs Vagrant Recordings in Southport. He mixed and mastered the sessions, as well as added his own Saxophone playing onto track II. The additional vocals on the tracks, from Chris Reese (CMA / Horsebastard) and Rich Speakman (The Afternoon Gentlemen) were done in their own time, using their own secret methods." The artwork was designed by Californian based Tony Koehl, of Sketch The Soul Studios. "After some to-ing and fro-ing of samples and ideas between each of us, he got back with what I feel is so fitting it hurts," states Mike Robertson. "At first I couldn't quite take it because it was so vastly different from the artists we had worked with before, (especially Costin Chioreanu and his amazingly dark portrayals,) but turns out that is exactly what the EP needed. We are so pleased with how the music, sound, vibe, theme and aesthetic has turned out." "It Came to This" is out 5th July 2016 via Rising Nemesis Records. Formed in 2013 as teenagers, Noisem! quickly established themselves as the most promising young band in extreme metal and have already graced the cover of Decibel Magazine in addition to having toured with countless heavyweights such as Carcass, Obituary, Nails, Dropdead, The Black Dahlia Murder, Gorguts, Iron Reagan and many more during their short time as a band. Noisem! bring an incredible energy to their mix of death metal, thrash, grindcore and hardcore and have released two full-lengths and an EP via A389 Recordings. Their most recent album, Blossoming Decay, can be streamed in full HERE. Noisem! will enter the studio this summer to begin recording their third full-length. The band commented on the signing and the new material:- "We’re very excited to be able to work with everyone at Relapse. We look forward to what we’ll be able to do in the future and am glad they decided to add us to their already incredible line-up of bands. Without giving too much away, Noisem record C so far has come to be about the sense of memory in loss, and gain. How everything before you pass could have a never ending impact on how you are seen, but within yourself will be forgotten in an instant. You can live a dream walker, but ultimately it's all just a Cancered Delusion." Stay tuned for more info on Noisem and further details on the new album TBA in the coming months. https://www.facebook.com/noisembaltimore With the worldwide street date for Piss Vortex's "Future Cancer" 12" EP less than a month away, the band infiltrates the system with another turbulent single from the record. The band now blasts the monolithic "Abyss" through the airwaves with assistance from stateside supporters Svbterranean, who today unloads the track for the first time, which the zine states, "unleashes bursts of noisy cacophonies and Gorgutsian lurches. It's dizzying, nauseating and heavy as hell." Get hit by Piss Vortex''s "Abyss," streaming at Svbterranean RIGHT HERE. The EP's "Den Moderne Mands Lænke" is also playing at Decibel HERE. "Future Cancer" will be released on black 12" vinyl and digital formats on April 1st via Indisciplinarian, with US mail-order handled by Earsplit Distro. Pre-orders for the wax been initiated; US orders can be placed HERE and international orders HERE. Displaying a clear progression of a band falling into place just to dissolve into the next experiment without fear or nothing to prove, the six songs on Future Cancer were recorded live in the studio over two days with producer Jakob Reichert Nielsen, who was also responsible for the recording of the band's acclaimed self-titled debut LP. Heavier. Grimmer. Faster. Slower. More galvanizing in its extreme shape and expression, more challenging in its intuitive progressiveness, this EP is more mind-bending in its emphasis of spaced out psychedelica, and overall just more fucked up than ever. Piss Vortex' will perform at the upcoming Huset Hardcore Festival in their native Copenhagen on March 18th with the likes of Halshug, Hexis, LLNN, and many others, with additional tour dates in Denmark and abroad pending. PISS VORTEX Live: 3/18/82016 Huset Hardcore Festival - Copenhagen, DK w/ Halshug, Hexis, LLNN https://www.facebook.com/pissvortex As Sweden’s decimating Grind faction Gadget is set to make a triumphant return with its first new album in ten years, MetalSucks has premiered the latest single from "The Great Destroyer", "I Don't Need You / Dead And Gone.” MetalSucks commented on the song,"Talk about truth in advertising: featuring seventeen blistering tracks with all the warmth and kindness of a rabid Doberman and a guest appearance from Napalm Death’s Barney Greenway (which is just about the most prestigious endorsement a grind band can hope for), The Great Destroyer will, indeed, destroy you. Greatly.” "I Don't Need You / Dead And Gone" can be streamed here. "The Great Destroyer" will see worldwide release on CD / LP / Digital this March 4, 2016. Last month, Noisey premiered two other new tracks from the album - stream "Violent Hours (For A Veiled Awakening)" and the title track "The Great Destroyer" now here. A blistering high-speed assault of relentless grind, Gadget's new album "The Great Destroyer" is a cohesive exercise in extremity that blends hints of doom, sludge and death metal with unadulterated, old-school grindcore. The result is an album that is as memorable and infectious as it is pummeling and explosive. With "The Great Destroyer", Gadget have released their most accomplished material to date! Physical pre-orders are available now via Relapse here; digital pre-orders can be found at Gadget's Bandcamp page here. By GMA's India correspondent Farzand Bawa
There was a time, not too long ago though, when Kolkata did not have a single Metal band to offer, Hybrid Metal infused genres that used to be taken as Metal and the scene was predominant with people and bands with at least ideas on how Metal should be done and with the lack of listening disorder, especially to the basic Heavy, Thrash or Old School Black and Death Metal, people had simply no idea or interest to the foundation and building pillars of this genres. It was shameful how you could get hold of so called Metal fans or band members and ask them basic questions on metal and you could get a strange face as if you asked them about String Theory. Totally parasitic and atrociously weak, the scene slowly gained a name, sarcastically, Corekata, from metalheads outside the city. The scene never could attain anything nationally, nor internationally. The decay and stagnation slowly crept in and that was the time the very first strike of Metal and hope was manifested as Putried Ascendancy emerged. Originally just featuring a Facebook page and a couple of old online compilations, Putrid Ascendancy slowly sowed the seeds of awakening and self realization among city metalheads together, illuminating everything that is metal and criticized everything that is not. The work of Putrid Ascendancy turned easier with the sudden up-rise of notable and skilled metal bands that mushroomed out of nowhere, among these bands were: Purgation, Necrodeity, Armament, Mortar, Strangulate and Dead Veneration. These bands are to be noted for their strong music in Death, Thrash and Grind metal. The first ever Ritual Ascendancy Fest was held in Kolkata with these bands on 4th August and immediately was applauded for such underground charm and brilliant sets by each bands. Eyes were opened, minds were f**ked, Determinations grew stronger and Metal got louder. The second version of Ritual Ascension Fest named WAR.CULT.SUPREMACY is set to protest Bongo-Bhonga or rather conceptualized as the unification of both the Bengal terrain as ONE. War.Cult.Supremacy stands as Militant Metal War against remaining parasitic metal trends and posers and this time East Bengal shall unleash its wrath in two gigantic proportions. Black / Death Bestail Regiment Nafarmaan (Formed by Canadian Black Metal band Weapon's Ex Drummer - Nohttzver) and bone crushing Thrash Militia Enmachined shall bring caustic torment to all posers, They shall be supported by West Bengal's Terror Adversarialists Necrodeity, Brutal Holocausters Purgation, Thrashing Warfare Specialists Armament and black witching blood shedders Kapalin. Be there this September to witness the destruction! Global Metal Apocalypse is proud to announce the collaboration with our brothers aforementioned. More updates and special features coming soon!!
