Cradle Of Filth announce new album details and UK Ireland tour

The UK's legendary extreme metal icons Cradle Of Filth have announced the details for the band's upcoming 12th full-length album.

‘Cryptoriana - The Seductiveness Of Decay’ will be released on September 22nd via Nuclear Blast. You can view the stunning cover artwork by Artūrs Bērziņš below. Bērziņš is the mastermind behind the new record’s artwork, photography and videography – best known for his defiant neo-symbolism raster graphics and oil paintings; postmodern interpretations of classic myths. He has been proclaimed as a “sacred monster of Latvian postmodernism”.

Commented the infamous Dani Filth:

"The album is deeply infused with Victorian gothic horror and thus the title is a reflection of that. 'Cryptoriana' implies the Victorian's infatuation with the supernatural, the grave and the ghoulish. And the subtitle 'The Seductiveness Of Decay' further cements this attraction to death and the glittering lengthy process of self-annihilation."

The first single off ‘Cryptoriana - The Seductiveness Of Decay’ will be released on July 5th, the same day that the album pre-order will become available.

‘Cryptoriana - The Seductiveness Of Decay’ was recorded at Grindstone Studios, Suffolk, UK by the very honourable Scott Atkins, esq. who has been the resident go-to producer for Cradle Of Filth for several albums. Dani sat in during the mix, serving up flaming mugs of teas, making the studio couch his own and lending his ears when necessary.

The band have also announced their first full scale UK and Ireland tour in years, starting in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 30th October.

Added Dani Filth:

"We, as a band, are incredibly excited about hitting the UK and Ireland for a full run of dates around All Hallows Eve, as playing the band's home country is always great fun and the audiences here are very receptive. And nuts. The dates will be the first in a long line of shows that will extend throughout the rest of the World throughout 2018. We aim to be very prolific on the live front, delivering a show worthy of our fan’s exalted expectations and more"

Ireland's The Crawling premiere new video ‘The Right To Crawl’

Irish doom trio The Crawling have released a new video, 'The Right To Crawl', and it's streaming in full right now at Overdrive! 'The Right To Crawl' is the second single from the album from the band’s debut album Anatomy Of Loss, which was released recently and is streaming in full at Metal Hammer, and whom also cited the band as "fast becoming rising stars of the ever-more pertinent doom scene".

Watch 'The Right To Crawl' Here! - http://www.overdrive.ie/crawling-right-crawl-world-premiere/

Vocalist & guitarist Andy Clarke says the song, "was initially on our EP In Light of Dark Days, and always goes down well live, so we opted to re-record it for Anatomy Of Loss. I'm so pleased we did as it fits in beautifully amongst the new tracks, and really benefits from the improved production. Lyrically, the track has always been a favourite of mine. It is a song about strength, and the choices people make when faced with adversary. Few things in life are easy, but on occasion we have to deal with things we would rather not. The easy option is the default 'roll over and submit,' but I have watched many people gather themselves up, and move on through the most desperate times; I admire that. 'The Right To Crawl' is from the perspective of one of those people, encouraging those that need to find that fortitude to survive."

Formed in the winter of 2014 against the bleak concrete backdrop of Lisburn city, Northern Ireland, The Crawling have came a long way since their humble beginnings. Influenced by Paradise Lost, Katatonia and Bolt Thrower, The Crawling use a guttural vocal to combine melancholy with weight, churning out a heavy, doom/death ensemble. January 2015 saw the debut single 'Choking On Concrete,' which put the band on the scene, followed in October 2015 by the critically acclaimed In Light of Dark Days 3 track EP. 2016 was a massive year for the band; most notably performing at Inferno Metal Festival in Norway, and Bloodstock Open Air in England. The festival appearances have been reinforced by successful headline shows at home, which culminated in a main stage slot at the highly respected Siege of Limerick festival in Southern Ireland.

Now with Anatomy Of Loss brought to the fore, an album featuring no less than seven tracks expressing desperation and defeat and artwork from Travis Smith (Anathema, Bloodbath, Death...) The Crawling strive to spread their brand of misery ever further.

Irish Metal band Stormzone and video crew missing; band management issue statement

Last week Irish metalheads, Stormzone were shooting a new music video for a track from their latest album, "Seven Sins". Acclaimed director Alex Perisson, responsible for many award winning videos from Europe's top metal bands, had signed up to direct the video, in a concept that involved recording footage in a disused asylum, against the advice of local experts.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpgiwABTINY

As far as we can ascertain, the band and entire production crew encountered some kind of problem during the shoot. We have not been able to contact anyone involved since the date of filming. The attached news report contains footage found at the scene, which some viewers might find distressing.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the band or crew should get in touch immediately.

Irish Thrashers Dead Label unveils music video for 'Pure Chaos'

9/3/2017

Ireland’s hottest metal export, Dead Label have released their highly anticipated new video for ‘Pure Chaos”, ahead of the band's appearance at the UK’s Download Festival this coming June.

With a legacy that has already involved touring with some of the world's most exciting metal acts, across three continents - not forgetting an impressive amount of critical acclaim from a host of respectable media outlets, Dead Label have finally released their first new track since their highly acclaimed ‘Throne of Bones’ sophomore LP last June.

‘Pure Chaos’ sees Dead Label capture the essence of their live sound and enhancing it in a recorded environment. Check out the video in full here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2cOPduOaHo

The video for Pure Chaos is based around a religious cult leader, who, after forcefully expanding his congregation, gets his comeuppance. Directed and produced by Crooked Gentlemen, this marks the band's fourth music video to date. Drummer, Claire Percival commented on the video’s concept;

“We gave the Crooked Gentleman guys (Shaun Ryan and Jeff Doyle) the track and they came back to us very excited about this concept; to which they were inspired by after hearing the track. When they pitched it to us; we really loved the idea. It’s without a doubt the darkest video in terms of subject matter that we have created.”

With the last two years being of significant importance, due to their debut North American 40 date tour, (which saw them perform in 30 states), Dead Label gained significant international interest following a vast amount of European, UK and Irish dates, with the likes of Machine Head, Gojira, Fear Factory and Raging Speedhorn to name but a few. A slew of Summer shows followed with appearances at festivals such as, Bloodstock (UK), main stage billing Metal Days (Slovenia), Made of Metal and Aggressive Music Festival (Czech Republic) and Gothoom Open Air (Slovakia), eventually leading to the band’s ‘Hot New Band’ feature in Metal Hammer (December, 2016 issue) and their recently confirmed slot at this year’s UK Download Festival in June.

Dead Label have been tracking demos for the follow-up to Throne of Bones and plan to enter the studio later this year, following dates in Europe and further afield, with a prediction for 2018 release.

Catch Dead Label on Saturday, June 10th at the Dogtooth stage during this year's Download Festival. Stage times will be confirmed closer to the date.

Ireland's Apostate Viaticum premiere new track via Decibel

Irish death metal cult Apostate Viaticum premiere the new track "Moloch the Sanguinary" at Decibel magazine's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Before the Gates of Gomorrah, set for international release on March 13th via Invictus Productions. Hear Apostate Viaticum's "Moloch the Sanguinary" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

One of the most exciting new bands Invictus has come across lately, Apostate Viaticum feature in their ranks a number of Irish metal veterans, largely evolving out of the band Morphosis, whose roots stretch back to the early '90s. Indeed, ancient times inform much of Before the Gates of Gomorrah: the foundation of late '80s deathrash is firm here, with the pioneering old works of Sadus, Pestilence, Master, and Sepultura setting forth the signposts by which Apostate Viaticum take flight and subsequently destroy.

And yet, it's what the band do with these influences which makes Before the Gates of Gomorrah so fresh. Bolstered by absolutely blistering production, Apostate Viaticum conjure slowly evolving whirlpools of maniacal Metal of Death magic, simmering with patience and slithering in a most serpentine manner, all before exploding into rabid, red-eyed bestiality or striking with iron-fisted doom-trudge, in between moving with martial grace and malevolent ease. Indeed, one could easily qualify Before the Gates of Gomorrah as "martial" metal par excellence, exhibiting as it does a unique 'n' elusive stridency that slots itself well alongside Invictus brethren Diocletian, Bölzer, and ZOM whilst exhibiting a comparably righteous rivetheadedness of Gospel of the Horns, Vomitor, and Throaat. Altogether, it's ever-singular EXTREME METAL, and it's merely the dawn of greatness for Apostate Viaticum.

Hear the next glimpse of greatness exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine. The first glimpse of greatness can be heard the track "In the Shadow of the Monolith" at Invictus' Soundcloud HERE.

Avenged Sevenfold kick off massive tour on January 7th following surprise album release

14/12/2016

Picture

Avenged Sevenfold are set to return to the UK for their biggest tour yet. Their previously announced 10 date UK tour in January 2017 includes 2 nights at London’s 02 Arena. Tickets are priced £45 / £37.50 regionally and £45 / £37.50 / £30 for London via www.livenation.co.uk and www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

The band’s last visit was in 2013 for a sold out arena tour plus an awe inspiring headline slot at Download Festival in June 2014 which cemented their unshakable reputation for breath-taking live performances.

Avenged Sevenfold recently played a groundbreaking live 360 Virtual Reality gig on the roof of Capitol Records in LA after which they surprised fans with the announcement that their new album ‘The Stage’ – their first for Capitol Records - would be available that night. Previously they had made headlines with the release of the title track, co-produced by the band and Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool) AND a companion video directed by Chris Hopewell (Radiohead, The Killers). The latter has already amassed well over TEN million YouTube views – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBYVlFXsEME

The Stage is a work of immense scope and ambition, featuring 11 panoramic tracks tied together by an Artificial Intelligence theme. Inspired by the writings of Carl Sagan and Elon Musk, the album is the band’s first thematic release. While the term “AI” conjures up images of robots and fantasy films, the band steers clear of a science fiction storyline. Instead, the album sees them taking a futurist’s look at the accelerated rate at which technology’s intelligence is expanding and what that means—good and bad—for the future.

The album’s epic 15-minute-plus closing track, “Exist,” features a guest appearance by award-winning astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson giving a spoken word performance he penned specifically for the album.
