Skade is a one-man band from Bergen, Norway, playing black metal. The band aims to recapture the rawness of the original Norwegian wave of black metal while still innovating the sound. The music is rough around the edges, like black metal should be, but also not afraid of injecting some dynamics (and even soft parts). Lyrical themes include: misanthropy, resentment, mythological allegories, death. At its core, Skade will always be about a noisy and intense soundscape. In the same way that popular hair metal in the 80s had lost contact with the roots of heavy metal, so it can be argued that modern black metal has lost contact with its own roots. Contemporary black metal is often high fidelity, commercial and approachable. This is a far cry from what made black metal black metal in the first place. One of the main points of Skade as a project, is to recapture that rawness that black metal should have. Skade is:
Band links: Facebook | Youtube | On Sliptrick Nameless Theory are tremendously happy and proud to announce that they are signing with Wormholedeath Records for the reissue of their debut album “Into the Void”, due for re-release on October 21st, 2022. The band states:- "For a couple of months now we’ve been talking to Carlo and his team at Wormholedeath and the feedback and working relation has been absolutely great, above all of our expectations! For us, it is an opportunity of a lifetime and one which we will not take for granted and work our butts off to make it work. Opportunities like these don’t come around often so we are grateful for the trust and we are sure that this is the start of a great relationship. "Into the Void" was composed between 2013 and 2018. In 2018 we entered the studio to start recording it. The recording process took around one year to be concluded. As for its concept, Into The Void is a dark album as it deals with anxiety, depression, existentialism, and a lot of everyday struggles and events that we have collectively gotten through the years. For this reason, Into the Void is a very personal album and one that we are very proud to have it as our debut. The music was written by all the band members and because of that it mixes a lot of genres and influences, you’ll hear a lot of Iron Maiden vocal lines and guitar melodies, while the guitar and bass riffs may come from bands such as Deftones, Korn but also metalcore acts such as As I lay Dying, which is also a big influence on the drumming in pair with for example Lamb of God. All of this while trying to blink an eye at some prog metal landscapes in terms of song structure and dynamics." Nameless Theory is a metal band from Pinhal Novo, Portugal formed by Pedro Piedade on lead vocals, Márcio Júnior on bass guitar, André Marques on lead guitar, and Igor Pedroso on drums. Their objective is to bring together both the band and the audience in an engaging environment full of energy and emotion. The band was formed in January 2013 and on April 25th, 2013 the band released their first EP "2013" and spent the following months promoting this work. As the band performed and rehearsed, they matured and changed their musical direction and approach. Bearing this in mind, the band decided to record a second EP called "Ghosts". The EP was recorded in May / June 2015 at "Le Baron Rouge Studios" in Nirvana Studios by producer Tiago Borges (The Royal Blasphemy) and released on October 17th, 2015. In September 2018 the band entered Ultrasound Studios in Moita to start recording their first album, which ended up being titled “Into the Void”. Produced by Igor Azougado (Shivers) this work presents itself as a solid summary of the band's years as musicians and people. The album was released independently on February 8, 2020, followed by 4 promotion concerts until an abrupt halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2022 the band signed with the label Wormholedeath to the rerelease of “Into The Void”, an amazing opportunity and partnership that for sure will help Nameless Theory step up their game. With concerts played all over Portugal in great venues such as "Paradise Garage", "Stairway Club", "Popular Alvalade", "Festival Bardoada, and AJCOI" as well as being the opening act for the bands "Ash Is a Robot" and " O Bisonte", Nameless Theory wants to be one of the next great metal bands to come out of Portugal! Non Serviam Records is happy to announce the signing of the exciting symphonic black metal band Mist Of Misery from Stockholm, Sweden. Mist Of Misery was formed by Mortuz Denatus (Vanhelga) in 2010 in the northern suburbs of Stockholm with the vision to create music that was based on melancholy, darkness, depression and atmosphere. The band released the EP "Bleak Autumn" EP, followed by the full-length album by the same name in 2011. The EP "Temple Of Stilled Voices" saw the light of the day in 2013. Mist Of Misery released their second full-length entitled "Abscence" in 2016 which showcased the progression the band had made since their early days. Thanks to its blend of atmospheric black metal and symphonic and depressive elements, the album was very well received around the world getting tremendous reviews. Before its release, Livsnekaren had joined the band on drums and was soon followed by Tenebris (ex-Vanhelga and ex-GRÁ), who joined the band on bass for various live performances and later became a permanent member in 2017. The band followed up the critically acclaimed album with two EP’s in 2017 entitled "Shackles of Life" and "Fields of Isolation". The following years Mist Of Misery performed at festivals in Bulgaria, Germany and Wales as well as various gigs in their own home country while writing their next album. The epic and grandiose double record "Unalterable" (2019) displayed the band's evolved atmospheric sound. It garnered much praise and paved the way for another evolution in the soundscape of Mist Of Misery, which was made evident when the band began working on a new album, along with the new singer Änglamakaren (Night Crowned). The writing of their new effort took the band’s symphonic sound to new heights. Mist Of Misery finished the recording of the album in early 2022 and soon signed with Non Serviam Records, with a planned release this Fall. The band comments on the signing news: "Mist Of Misery are pleased to announce they have signed with Non Serviam Records for the release of their fourth full-length album this fall, entitled ’Severance’. We look forward to collaborating with such a dedicated and well established label such as Non Serviam Records”. Ricardo Gelok, Non Serviam Records owner continues: "I knew the band from their previous releases, and I was really happy they decided to send me their new promo... I really love their musical landscape. The more I listen to the songs the more I discover new things ". More details about the new album and a first taste of what it has to offer will be unveiled soon.
American deathcore band Signs Of The Swarm release their new song and music video for 'Unbridled' today via their new label home Century Media Records. Purchase and stream the track, HERE, and watch the video, HERE. On the new single, Signs Of The Swarm state: "To commemorate our signing with Century Media, we wanted to offer something truly special – ‘Unbridled’. This track is a taste of everything that we have to offer, reaching for new levels of intensity and keeping what makes us SOTS. If you like riffs, blast beats, and breakdowns... don’t skip this one. Lyrically, we want to reach out to our fans from a different perspective in hopes that the song pulls you in and doesn’t let go. Channelling fear, aggression and defeat into a single track, 'Unbridled' is a violent and energetic piece that we expect you to bang your head to." Just last week, Signs Of The Swarm announced signing to their new label home Century Media Records stating: "For SOTS, 2021-2022 has been a time of growth and change. We released our latest record last year and knew that we had to hit the road hard. Since that time we’ve performed over 200 times in at least 15 countries, which gave us a very unique opportunity. The band went out searching for the perfect fit to match our vision, and once we met with the Century Media team it was an instant sync. We chose this time to announce our partnership - after we completed our hefty tour schedule around the globe and joined forces with GoodFight MGMT - so that we can bring you the very best that we have to offer. With that said, we are pleased to release our latest single and music video, 'Unbridled' to celebrate this next chapter of Signs of the Swarm! With a bright future in sight, we are proud to be a part of the Century Media family and cannot wait to show you more of what we have been up to." Pittsburgh’s Signs Of The Swarm aren’t just any band, they’re a once-in-a-generation beacon that radiates the sounds that surrounded them, preserving history by reframing it. On their fourth LP, Absolvere, they’re bleak without being blackened, smashing without being slam, and downtempo as a choice rather than a stylistic confine. And as many of their deathcore peers experiment with adding singing, often gruff in tone, they add a more ethereal style that soothes. The band contrasts that with some of the most brutal moments in their eight-year career, with riffs more punishing than pensive and a rhythm section that frames them in creatively cacophonic ways. Above it all, they’re utilising vocalist David Simonich's monstrous range in a much fuller capacity than on his debut, 2019's Vital Deprivation. That transitional album found the band experimenting to re-find their footing, which here lands on solid ground through the addition of guitarist Jeff Russo, a former bandmate of Simonich’s Improvidence. The proof is in the placing, with Absolvere landing at #15 on “Current Hard Music Albums,” #21 on “Top New Artist Albums” and #139 on “Heatseekers.” Indeed, sometimes contrast can be a perfect complement, but more often that effect is achieved when paired with something more in-line. So it is when Ben Duerr (Shadow of Intent) and Alex Erian (Despised Icon) join the band for growls and shouts, where Signs Of The Swarm filter their guests’ bands through their own sound. Instead of taking away from their identity, it expands it. They’re steadily expanding their global reach, too. In the few short months since Absolvere’s release, Signs Of The Swarm have toured with the likes of Fit for an Autopsy, Born of Osiris and Shadow of Intent. Forthcoming domination campaigns of Europe and Australia will be added to their tenure with Aborted, Lorna Shore, Brand of Sacrifice and more. Forget the signs, the swarm is already here, and it’s growing larger and louder every day. TWITTER | FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM Rockshots Records announce their signing of Italian fantasy power metallers RuinThrone for the release of their new J.R.R. Tolkien-inspired album “The Unconscious Mind Of Arda” due out on January 2023 to follow their debut album “Urban Ubris” and EP “Leaden Field”. Set to create an interesting narrative world, RuinThrone composes very captivating musical sections that are supported by complex and progressive structures. The band explains: "The album itself has been composed of stories inspired by Tolkien’s poems, his “Legendarium”. We hope the concepts we wrote can be “messengers” of reflection for our listeners, turning in a better awareness of their daily life. We focused on an alternative point of view of some stories written by Tolkien. We thought it would have been interesting to explore the mind of the main villains: Morgoth, the Witch-king, and Gothmog. The main concept is to develop a poem with no need for heroes. It’s a world populated by humanized characters creating a correspondence with the listener’s life." “The Unconscious Mind Of Arda” is mixed and mastered by Giuseppe Orlando (sound tech for Rhapsody of Fire) at the Other Sound Studios. Singles for “The Unconscious Mind Of Arda” will be revealed at future dates. "We want the listener to be “lured” by the darkness and to become as a whole with it." RuinThrone was founded in 2009 in Rome, Italy by Adriano Strinati, Haedus and Alessandro Finocchiaro. Soon after, Giorgio Mannucci (keyboards), Nicolò De Maria (guitars), and Francesco Comerci (drums) joined the band. The sound of RuinThrone is inspired by German and American metal bands like Blind Guardian, Helloween, Iced Earth, and Nevermore, but they have their own distinguishable dark and modern character.
