On Sunday the May 17, 2020 Mark Jansen (leader and composer of Epica, MaYaN, United Metal Minds) and Alexander Osipov (leader and composer of Imperial Age) will meet online in a live chat on YouTube to discuss many interesting topics and answer questions of symphonic metal fans from around the world. Unusually for rock stars, they actually have a scientific background: Mark has a master‘s degree in psychology (Maastricht University, Netherlands) while Alexander has a master‘s degree in history (Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia). On top of that, they are both interested in non-conventional disciplines, such as cold healing, bioenergy, esoteric, etc. The discussion promises to be very interesting and highly intellectual. The approximate topics include: - Music (obviously mainly Symphonic Metal) - Music business (how to promote your band during lockdown) - Psychology - History (including alternative history and ancient advanced civilizations) - Health (including alternative health practices) - Magic & the occult - The Current world situation - And many other things It is really hard to predict what two metalhead intellectuals might talk about… FANS WILL BE ABLE TO ASK QUESTIONS IN THE LIVE CHAT AND GET ANSWERS IN REAL TIME. This promises to be the most intriguing online chat during these interesting times - you surely want to be there! DATE AND TIME: May 17, 2020 at 7:00pm UK JOIN FACEBOOK EVENT: https://www.facebook.com/events/1183319995362854/ STREAM ON YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmJm0NpDoN0 Russian melodic death metal band Drops Of Heart are set to release their second full-length album, Stargazers. Three years in the making, Stargazers showcases the band’s constant evolution, in both songwriting and sound. The legacy of 1990s and 2000s metal pioneers is intertwined with modern genre trends, energetic riffs are complemented by cinematic synths, and loyalty to the band’s hallmark sound. The sound of the album is completed by voices of famous modern metal bands - Richard Sjunnesson from The Unguided ("Frost Grip") and Bjorn Strid from SOILWORK ("Starlight"). Stargazers is a tragic story of the presence of personal afflictions and disasters, affecting us all. Told in 12 epic compositions, the conceptually bleak album leaves room for a glimpse of hope and optimism. Drops Of Heart has launched the album’s first single, “Modern Madness.” Stream the track now at dropsofheart.bandcamp.com/album/stargazers. Stargazers will be released on 07/22/2020. Drops Of Heart was formed in the Russian city of Ufa during summer of 2008 by young musicians without any significant experience in this field. After a few line-up changes, the band tried to make the first serious recordings and released the debut EP Truth of the Closed Eyes. The band continued to develop their musical skill, their appearances at the scenes in the band’s home town became more frequent. However, frequent line-up changes negatively affected the atmosphere in the team. This had led to the disintegration of the band in 2010. But after several years of dead silence, the team's vocalist, Denis Fakhrislamov, together with a friend and a colleague in other bands, Vadim Nizamov, gave Drops Of Heart a new birth. With an updated and improved line-up, Drops Of Heart began working on new material and in December 2014 they released their first full album New Hope which they promoted on their own. The next big step in band’s life was experiments with the format of single releases: from 2016 to 2017 Drops Of Heart released a series of maxi-singles "Time and Pulse", "Amanda", "Faceless", "Starlight". Each maxi-single was released in three versions - Russian, English and instrumental, and was accompanied by various bonuses in the form of covers or alternative versions of already published tracks. The first official videos in the history of the band were shot on 2 singles (“Time and Pulse”, “Amanda”), also vocalist of the Swedish band Soilwork Bjorn Strid took part in the recording of the “Starlight”. During this period, Drops Of Heart attempted to experiment not only with the format of their new products releases, but also with the sound of releasing material: away from the traditional melodic death metal to a more atmospheric sound, which was achieved by the use of electronics and interweaving with other subgenres of metal, for example black metal ("Faceless"). In 2017, the band decided to open a new chapter in their life and started writing for their new album, Stargazers. Due to various circumstances, the most important of which was the departure of one of the band composers, Igor Barshchevsky, the recording of the album was delayed until 2020. dropsofheart.bandcamp.com www.instagram.com/dropsofheart www.youtube.com/user/dropsofheart www.facebook.com/pg/dropsofheartmetal vk.com/drops_of_heart Russian death metallers Infiltration are pleased to announce that they have signed a worldwide contract with Time To Kill Records, joining the label’s growing roster of premier talent. The official lyric video of the band's latest single, "Radiation Storm", is available HERE. The members of Infiltration first came together in 2017 with one goal in mind: to pay homage to some of their favourite death metal, give it their own heavy twist, and to have a blast doing it. The band's line-up features experienced musicians who used to be involved with such bands as Free At Last, Hellbomb, Chamber Of Torture, Katalepsy, Abnormal, and who shared the stage with iconic acts such as Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Suffocation and Broken Hope. In 2017 the band recorded the debut EP "Nuclear Strike Warning", which was very well received by both critics and fans, and made quite a stir in the local music scene. The band also released a single and a lyric video for the song “The Art of War”, supporting the release. During 2018-2019 the band continued to give live performances, both locally and abroad, all the while, writing and recording the material for the debut full-length album. The autumn of 2019 proved to be a very prosperous time: the band opened for legendary Napalm Death, in front of fully packed venue. Also in September Infiltration released the "Missing in Bodycount" single, off the upcoming album. Shortly after the gig the band decided to release another lyric video, for the song "Radiation Storm", this time via the Slam Worldwide Youtube channel. The clip rapidly gained popularity and positive feedback. Infiltration will officially announce the release of new music – arriving in the form of their first full-length album – very soon. The album's artwork will be handled by highly acclaimed master of artworks Daemorph (The Black Dahlia Murder, Pyrexia, Lividity). Stay tuned for more details and music, coming soon! The band was founded in winter 2004 by Phantom, but the project was frozen in ice till 2007 due to other activities. The bands first release came in 2008 with Russian label Musica Production which was the first split-CD in the label’s history. Theosophy and Bizarrekult were the participants of this release and the CD received good feedback and distribution in all parts of the world, from Brazil to Japan. During spring and summer 2009 Theosophy recorded several new songs and in September 2009, they played as support act with the legendary Helheim during their visit to Siberia. In 2010, the band concentrated on live appearances with a new program and released their debut full-length album. The CD was been called …Out Of Decades and was followed in 2011 by In the Kingdom Of North. Both albums were released on No Colours Records. During the making of their next album, the band decides to divide the new material and make a conceptual work, which was called Eastland Tales. The two parts were released in 2014 and 2016. Throughout this period, the band have played various live shows and festivals as both headliners and support in Russia and in spring 2019, Theosophy made it’s first European tour across Poland and Czech Republic. Over the 2 weeks the band played 7 gigs and received positive responses from a public. The group's new album is titled Towers Of Dark Pantheon and will be released in 2020 via the Sliptrick Records. Over the past few years since 2015 when L'Homme Absurde started as a one-man band it has become one of the best known post black metal acts in Russia. The sound of the band can be described as a fusion of modern black metal vibe with metalcore and catchy melodies. Two albums released since the start, Monsters (2016) and Sleepless (2018), received positive reviews in international press and the critics themselves pointed out band's own style. https://www.facebook.com/lhommeabsurde https://www.instagram.com/lhommeabsurdeband https://lhommeabsurdebm.bandcamp.com https://vk.com/lhommeabsurde MetalBite has premiered the official video for "Once Upon A Time In Russia" from prolific Russian Metal band Second To Sun. The song is taken from the band's forthcoming album Legacy. Check it out below. "Once Upon A Time In Russia" (official video) metalbite.com/news/11842/mb-premiere-and-review-second-to-sun-once-upon-a-time-in-russia Second To Sun will release new album Legacy on November 7! Consistent with previous albums, the group will also release an instrumental version of the album on November 16. Second To Sun mastermind Vladimir Lentinen had this to say about the forthcoming album: "I'm proud to present you our new album named Legacy, which is even more aggressive and heavier than previous one, but still retains the melodic, hypnotic and cinematic qualities of its predecessor. Legacy is logically divided into three ideological arches: one dedicated to social solitude; an occult part, which is closely intertwined with actual historical events, and a traditional part of our music, which is based on culture of the Finno-Ugric people. We see it as a trilogy unified by a sole idea, which was earlier dubbed as social-decay black metal. All tracks are undoubtedly our legacy, which is the foundation of our album's name. Brilliant artwork for both versions of the release, created by Denis 'Forkas' Kostromitin, who also worked with such bands like Behemoth and Children of Bodom. We live in incredible times, when a band like our can exist without support from the psychopathic musical industry and shortlived trends. Our music simply exists because there are people, who listen to it. Thank you for your attention and support." The most important musical inspiration source of the band is Scandinavian black metal along with creations of groove metal bands Pantera and Fear Factory. Their songs are performed in Russian language or in instrumental versions, and the main lyrical themes for the songs are mystic, mythology and social decay. The basic work unit for the band is still releasing new music, one new song almost every month. Joining the ranks at Sliptrick Records this week are Russian Instrumental Folk Metal / Progressive Hard Rock trio Helena Aleksandre’s (we prefer Avant-Garde Folk Metal). The group is led by Helena who was born in Kostroma, Russia. She started playing guitar at 15 and took the next 5 years learning to understand her music and discover the talent to create music in her own style. Helena is joined by vocalist Vera Moore who also writes the text for the songs and Stasy Short who plays classical guitar and is also fond of playing bass guitar and synthesizer. Helena Aleksandre’s music combines several styles. There is no framework for the compositions and the music specifically tries to avoid copying anyone. In any song, you may find a lot of non-recurring moments, which makes each song interesting and makes you want to listen to it several times. Influences include Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and Kipelov while the sound has elements of folk, metal and progressive hard rock. The all female line-up was created a year ago in 2018 with the band accumulated tracks ready for their debut album due to be released worldwide via Sliptrick Records. Dates below with tickets going on sale on 11th October at 10am BST, 11am CEST. Details of the upcoming album shall be revealed in due course. Einar Selvik comments: “Wardruna has been a DIY to-the-bone kind of project since the very beginning. Slowly and patiently evolving. Working hard and always keeping the art itself as the primary decisive factor. This will never change for me, and so having people on our team that also embrace this way of working is paramount. Partnering up with Sony Music / Columbia Records is a new steppingstone for us and I am very confident that this new addition to the team will give us new opportunities to further develop our art and take it to the next level.” 2019 marks ten years since Wardruna’s first release. A series of sold out shows at prestigious concert venues around the world culminate in the highlight of the fall; Wardruna will perform in the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in the United States, followed by sold out European tour. The group's critically acclaimed “Runaljod” trilogy based on the Nordic runes reached its conclusion and was followed by a stripped-down, fully acoustic album exploring the ancient poetic traditions of the Skalds. This spring, a new chapter for the band will start. New music is being worked on as well as further steps in the band´s concert production. “I don’t wish to reveal too much at this point but can say that we are now deep into the process of writing and recording a new album. When Wardruna gets up from the current studio-hibernation and initiate the concert-year of 2020, it is clearly allowed to hope for new music!" Says Einar Selvik.
