FACEBOOK | VK | WEBSITE Russian Pagan Metallers Intothecrypt stream Ordo MCM debut via "Legacy" magazine's website21/6/2019 Russian pagan metallers Intothecrypt stream the entirety of their striking debut album, Vakor, at Legacy magazine's website. Set for international release on June 21st via Ordo MCM, hear Intothecrypt's Vakor in its entirety exclusively HERE. Although an otherwise-new name, having been formed in 2016 as a studio project, Intothecrypt feature members of Russian cult band Scald: guitarist Ivan "Harald" Sergeev, bassist/vocalist Ilia "Velingor" Timashev, and drummer Aleksand “Ottar” Kudryashov, all of whom also played in Russian folk metal band Tumulus. The main goal of Intothecrypt is to create dark, extreme music which includes elements of Scald, Bathory, old-school doom/death, black metal, and Northern folk music. So, one could understand Intothecrypt as an extension of where Scald could've gone but also a separate entity unto itself. Uniquely, Intothecrypt's lyrics are based on a peculiar combination of Slavic and Finno-Ugric mythologies which emerged in the North and North East regions of Ancient Rus when Slavs settled there and made contact with Finno-Ugrians and their culture. The songs are written from the viewpoint of a shaman who lived at a crossroads of cultures and combined both Slavic and Finno-Ugric believes and magical practices. Some of Intothecrypt's lyrics are in English; the rest of them are based on Ancient Russian grammar, with the use of Ancient Russian, Finno-Ugric and Russian dialectal vocabulary. A significant contribution to the music of Intothecrypt was made by Gervald (project KI.EN.GI) and other guest musicians. In 2017, Intothecrypt created a four-song demo. A year later, the band finished their debut album, Vakor. Epic and expansive, Vakor creates a colourful canvas during its hour-long duration, with its kaleidoscopic landscape taking in pagan metal, folk, prog, traditional black/death, and of course that magical touch of Scald and their pagan-era forebears Bathory. Each of the album's ten main songs weaves a fantastical spell that immediately penetrates the soul and stirs the imagination. At once, Intothecrypt is emblematic of Russia's reigning pagan metal paradigm and defiant of it, creating a tapestry of glory entirely their own. Apart from the main members of Intothecrypt – Harald, Velingor, and Ottar – the following musicians took part in recording this album: Gervald on sound effects, percussion, and backing vocals and Marina Sokolova of Sedmaya Voda on vocals, altogether making for a truly unique and collaborative experience. Completed by Andrey Andreev’s cover artwork, Intothecrypt's Vakor is a timeless tale of past, present, and perhaps future! View The Campaign: https://igg.me/at/Novgorod The album is based on real events. It involves the times when in the 10th century knyaz Vladimir declared Christianity as the state religion of Russia. He forced the people to renounce paganism. But there was one region that did not obey his will and fought for its freedom. This was Novgorod. The album represents the opposing forces of the knyaz and the people of Novgorod using black metal and folk metal. The lyrics are in two ancient languages: Old Russian and Old Church Slavonic. They also represent paganism and Christianity in the album. In addition, as part of the crowdfunding campaign, Sieta has also made a full-band cover video of the legendary Forefather. Released on February 8th, Ethereal immediately blew fans away, debuting at #2 on the U.S iTunes Top 100 Heavy metal Albums. "It's been a while since our last release, *Exodus*. We took our time, we honed our musical skills, and we are very proud of the end result! Our new CD, Ethereal is the most mature and complex album in the history of Shokran, we set out to deliver those next level feels" - Shokran Shokran started as a Groove/Djent/Oriental Metal solo project by Dmitry Demyanenko in 2012, with the debut EP Sixth Sense. In 2014, the solo project transformed into a full-time band, and Shokran released its debut album Supreme Truth followed by extensive Russian tours & critical acclaim. As the group found their footing, there was a change in the line-up, and they were joined by their current singer, Andrew Ivashchenko, and bass player Valery Yushkevich. The band was set to release their 2nd album entitled Exodus in 2015 but delayed the release after receiving interest from several record labels including Sumerian Records. During the negotiations, no agreements were ultimately reached, and the band decided to release Exodus on their own in September 2016. It was a conceptual work, that describes the 10 Plagues of Egypt, each song on Exodus tells about each Plague. The record took the band to an altogether higher level. Shokran gained new fans around the world, reunited with their original bass player Rodion Shevchenko, completed several more tours and began to compose their latest album ETHEREAL, which was released on February 8th, 2019 and debuted #2 on the U.S iTunes Top 100 Heavy metal albums. The band BrightDelight, founded in early 2017, is one of the brightest young representatives of the Russian metal scene. After releasing their debut album Let’s Make It Real and the first few concerts in Moscow, the band quickly gained fans, the number of which is growing every day. Many, including the band themselves, noted that it is difficult to uniquely determine the style of their music. Nevertheless, opinions converge on such definitions as metal core with electronic. At the core of the songs are lyrical electronics – party synths, the contrast between clean and extreme vocals. Instruments, in turn, add density to the sound and accents. But the group and fans alike, the most important aspect of their work is the indescribable atmosphere and drive of the band’s live performances. Over the past year, BrightDelight have expanded the geography of their performances, visiting Kaluga and St. Petersburg. Also, during the year, they successfully passed through all stages of the international music festival “Emergenza”. In the final show, the performance was evaluated positively by the members of the international jury and the organizers of the festival and at the end of the contest, BrightDelight were voted in the TOP 30 best bands of Russia. Second To Sun concentrate on the musical and creative aspect more and use visual elements on every song (artwork, lyrics, behind the song infos etc.) to give more depth and back story to the music. The band's music contains a blend of metal genres: on the one hand, it has the many rhythmic elements of groove metal; on the other -hand, it continues the legacy of such classic Scandinavian black metal bands as Emperor, Mayhem, and Dakthrone. Such diverse musical roots of the band protrude from Vladimir Lehtinen's songwriting, Gleb Sysoev's soul-crushing vocals and Fedor Borovsky's groovy drum lines. The band releases two versions of each album - the vocal and the instrumental one. Each individual instrumental composition is accompanied by unique artwork and a hefty description of the story the composition tells, which provides a deeper insight into the music, as well as the band's inspiration and creative process.
