Canada's Inverted Serenity premiere "Mechanical Gods" via Toilet Ov Hell; pre-order 'As Spectres Wither' now.
Winnipeg, Manitoba-based Progressive Death Metal / Technical Death Metal outfit Inverted Serenity recently announced their upcoming third full-length, As Spectres Wither. Today the band partnered with Toilet Ov Hell to unleash the albums first single, "Mechanical Gods". The song showcases the band's ability to blend crushing technical death metal with progressive death elements and sublime clean singing led passages.
You can check out "Mechanical Gods" HERE
Toilet Ov Hell had this to say about today's song premiere:
"That principle of “eclectic but cohesive” applies to the songs on an individual level as well, delivering no shortage of surprises and subverting expectations. “Mechanical Gods” opens up with a mid-tempo start-stop riff that sounds like it’s building towards djenty chugs, but it quickly fades into a bass-driven clean section with surprisingly powerful singing. As the distortion kicks back in, the drums get progressively heavier, leading into a jaunty groove and mind-bending tapped dual leads."
"It’s a hell of a ride that gives a tantalizing look at what the rest of the album has to offer."
Pre-orders for As Spectres Wither are now live

Iron Bonehead Productions sets November 3rd as the international release date for Kawir's highly anticipated seventh album, Exilasmos, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.
Since 1993, Kawir have been one of the unsung pillars of the classic Greek black metal sound. While the names Rotting Christ, Varathron, and Necromantia are incredibly important to that style's foundation, it was Kawir who kept the faith during the '90s and into the new millennium. In 1994, the then-young band released two pivotal 7"s, Eumenides and a split with Japan's Sigh - on the pivotal Cacophonous Records, no less - and then followed those up in 1996 with the To Cavirs MLP, which is the first truly pagan-oriented record to hail from the Greek black metal scene. With that mini-album, Kawir set about on a Hellenistic crusade to celebrate their native gods and mythology in their lyrics and sartorial presentation. From the late '90s onward, the band continued to remain prolific, perpetually committed to fine-tuning their idiosyncratic craft, culminating in underground classics Arai (2005) and Ophiolatreia (2008). Although 2012's Ισόθεος featured a cross-continental line-up, the album further solidified Kawir's status as unique icons in the black metal underground.
Then, just last year, Iron Bonehead released the massively acclaimed Father Sun Mother Moon, which saw Kawir return to an all-Greek line-up and recast their classic sound in a whole new light, and now they continue that forward momentum with the fiery Exilasmos. If the 64-minute Father Sun Mother Moon was the sound of Kawir indulging their most epic expanses - always with power and poignancy, it must be said - then the 42-minute Exilasmos is its punchier and more restless counterpart. Across its six characteristically cascading tracks, Kawir take a decidedly darker and more aggressive turn, racing into the fray in a manner most mid '90s (or To Cavirs, as it were) but never losing the inherently heroic aspect so crucial - and so engaging, after all these years - to their Hellenic sound. Supplementing that dark heroism is the addition of a full-time keyboardist in Aristomache, who lends mystical light and shade to the band's surge 'n' swell. Further colouring the windswept wildness of Exilasmos are an endless supply of dramatic solos from guitarists Melanaegis and founder Therthonax.
But, as ever with Kawir, the sonic portrait they paint is imbued with a deep lyricism hailing the Greek pantheon. In the case of Exilasmos, the record is conceptually about the tragic dynasties of the house of Lavdakides (Oedipus Tyrannus) and the house of Atreus. Both dynasties nearly exterminated themselves, and all these violent and inhuman acts brought forth the wrath of Zeus and the curses were consequently laid upon the whole bloodline. "Exilasmos" in Ancient Hellenic Language means calming down the gods' wrath, so it perfectly describes the tragic events featured in the namesake album.
Recorded at Esoteron Studio in Athens and mixed and mastered by Esoteric's Greg Chandler at Priory Studio, Exilasmos is yet another gleaming jewel in the rich Kawir canon. Long may they ascend Mount Olympus! Begin that ascent with a special promo video for the new track "Agamemnon" HERE at Iron Bonehead's official YouTube channel.

Norwegian black metal enigmas Urarv premiere the new track "Red Circle" at web-portal InvisibleOranges.com. Northern trees sometimes bear strange fruit. Arising from the shadow of mental institutions and personal secret corners comes Urarv ("Ancient Heritage"), the new project spearheaded by avant-metal stalwart Björn Aldrahn Dencker of DHG and The Deathtrip and Thorns fame. "The ideas and visions for Urarv started actually back in 2003 during a stay that I had at the local mental institution where I live," comments Aldrahn. "It began dawning on me one evening as I was locked out on to the perimeter of the facilities to have a stroll."
At first, Urarv was going to be a folkish song-oriented solo-project exclusively, but as time went by, those thoughts proved themselves to be much too dysfunctional, and in the end, it would take several years until it all began taking shape properly. It wasn't until the summer of 2013, however, when enough material for a full-length album was ready. From thereon, Aldrahn sought out for fellow musicians to join his escapade of sonar expedition and relinquishment of artistic restraints. He was lucky enough to find two excellent creatures to do the drums and bass. Patricia and Sturt joined in with great enthusiasm and conviction when rehearsals began taking place later that year.
While Urarv recognizes the ancient heritage of Norwegian black metal, it also tramples across limitations. At the core of the project lies the idea of experimentation with various unorthodox tunings and curious sounds. "We want to tap into uncharted territories to see what lies hidden under the rocks and dead horses and beneath the cold vastness of uncertainty," says Aldrahn. "We're travelling to remote regions of metal music and mental space with this music. Although our message is one of emotional putrefaction, we want to help listeners find a way through the black hole."
In the meantime, hear the new track "Red Circle" - as well as read an extensive interview with Aldrahn - exclusively HERE, courtesy of InvisibleOranges.com. The previously revealed "Broken Wand" can be heard at Svart's Soundcloud HERE.
Eternal Silence have joined Sliptrick Records.
Eternal Silence is an Italian Symphonic Metal band. Their style combines the elements of heavy and power metal, such as strong guitar riffs and a thunderous rhythmic section mixed with elements taken from symphonic music, such as massive orchestrations and choirs, plus the addition of some electronic instruments. To complete their sound, Eternal Silence have two lead vocalists, Marika Vanni and the guitarist Alberto Cassina, who alternate and entwine their vocal parts. The upcoming Mastermind Tyranny will be their third studio album following Raw Poetryin 2013 and Chasing Chimera in 2015. The album expands upon the group already original style with more evolved and refined musical compositions.

Australian black / thrash cult Bloodlust stream the entirety of their highly anticipated second album, At the Devil's Left Hand. Set for international release on August 24th via Caverna Abismal Records on both CD and cassette tape formats, hear Bloodlust's At the Devil's Left Hand in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Conceived in the slaughter of innocence, upon a desecrated altar of God. Nurtured in the cold earth of the tomb world amongst the bones of the dead. Fed on endless pain and suffering, caressed by the dark mother of decay then thrust howling for vengeance into this mortal world on a mission to do Satan's deadly work. Bloodlust are a unit of infernal soldiers risen from Hell to spread a plague of blasphemous darkness against the light and all that is holy.
Armed to the teeth with an arsenal of dirty, thrashing black metal riffs, relentlessly bludgeoning war drums, and scorchingly vicious vokills, Bloodlust spit forth a venomous tirade against Jehovah and his cowering angels. The rhetoric of holy destruction written in blood and the audial terror. Inspired by visions of decaying graveyards, black magic rituals, demonic summoning and the mighty Infernal Lord, Satan, Bloodlust follow in the musical path of early metal warriors Venom, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, and Bathory.
Old-school black-thrash straight from the fiery depths of Hell: Bloodlust are At the Devil's Left Hand! In the lead-up to its international release on August 24th, stream the whole album at Caverna Abismal's Bandcamp HERE.

Portugal's Dark Metal pioneers in Moonspell are finally back with a brand new and hotly anticipated album, titled '1755'. Set to be released on November 3rd 2017 on Napalm Records, this record will outclass all standards you have ever heard from Moonspell before!
From the first second the conceptual dramaturgy Moonspell have created feels like a detonation of the mind. '1755' is more than just the band's new magnum opus: It's the musical version of the year of horror where a giant earthquake wrecked their home Lisbon. Naturally this album comes and is sung in Portuguese. The album, produced by Tue Madsen (Meshuggah, The Haunted, Dark Tranquility, Dir En Grey, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter) also features Paulo Bragança, supplying a hauntingly voice of a Fado fallen angel who is a big part of the Portuguese culture. His fascinating vocals are featured in "In Tremor Dei" (eng.: "Fear Of God").
Now the band fronted by the soul of dark art and visionary Fernando Ribeiro unveiled first details about '1755' and unleash the stunning cover artwork as well as the album track list!
“I have been fascinated with Portuguese history since I can remember. The year of 1755 marked the birth of a new Portugal. Much more than just the greatest natural disaster ever to occur on European soil, the great Lisbon Quake, shock-waves can not be reduced to a dramatic death toll. From absolute tragedy, a new city was born, giving way to a new time where Portuguese relied more on themselves than on the crown or the cross, granting us, much of the city, the lay country, the free will that we enjoy today. This is not just another album from us. It’s a musical and lyrical History document, a homage we pay to our legacy and to the amazing skills and resilience of our fellow Portuguese back then, of all mankind when brought down to the knees by the violent forces of Nature and Reason. Whatever is, is right... yet the earth shakes."
'1755' is a dark adventure in medieval landscapes - emotionally, technically and completely earthshaking! The album will be available for pre-order soon.
In support of Moonspell's upcoming release, the band will be heavily hitting the road this year!
