French death metal legion The Walking Dead Orchestra will release their second full-length, Resurrect, on October 13th via Unique Leader Records. Issues the band of the self-produced offering, "We conditioned ourselves to unleash our primal influences, it's a back-to-the-roots process with old-school riffs tuned to the more modern sound. We are proud of this combination. Each song has its own identity. We recorded, mixed, and mastered the entire album by ourselves at our own studio, Spike Recording Studio, which allowed us to keep every step of the production process under control. This gave us the time and freedom to really develop our sound. This album imposes an ambiance with many twists and surprises and the songs structures are more mature. This is a new chapter for the band but also for the Architect, the main character of The Walking Dead Orchestra's concept which takes place through a post-apocalyptic world. The artwork reflects The Walking Dead Orchestra's universe and illustrates each situation our main character goes through." Pre-orders for Resurrect will be available in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out "Dogmes Anxiogenes" at the Unique Leader Bandcamp page HERE. Resurrect Track Listing: 1. Calvaire 2. Resurrect The Scourge 3. Through The Realm Of Chaos 4. Vengeful Flavors 5. Dogmes Anxiogenes 6. Area Of Desolation 7. Demoligarchie 8. Siamese Traitors 9. Apostate 10. Necrosphere 1 1. Spread The Chaos And Terror 12. Desecrate The Walking Dead Orchestra was forged in 2011 in Grenoble, France. In 2012, the band unveiled its first EP Oppressive Procession, and performed nearly thirty shows throughout France alongside the likes of Betraying The Martyrs, UltraVomit, Death Mentality, Agnostic Front, Promethee, and many others. That Summer, the band was able to secure a three-week tour of Latin American with Descomunal which included a performance at Ecuador's QuitoFest. 2013 saw the release of their Klonosphere-issued Architects Of Destruction debut. Offering a more professional production quality, the record was recorded and mixed by Mickaël Valesi at Sonovore Studio in France and mastered by Charles J. Wall (Whitechapel, King Conquer, et al) at Sonic Assault Studio in Florida. The nine-tracks comprising Architects Of Destruction reaped critical acclaim among underground critics in the know with Metal Temple writing, "This release is not merely a collection of tracks about the undead, but an account of what one may feel if lost in a zombie epidemic. The band seems well-equipped for an impending Armageddon." Teeth Of The Divine issued, "With the energy these guys bring, and the crushing breakdowns all pulled off with precision and backed by a beefy production, this is really an impressive debut," while Dead Rhetoric likened Architects Of Destruction to a, "sonic interpretation of a zombie onslaught." The following year, THE WALKING DEAD ORCHESTRA shared the stage with Suicide Silence, Six Feet Under, Napalm Death, M:Pire Of Evil, Loudblast, Benighted, and Mumakil before joining Broken Hope and Internal Bleeding on their European tour in 2015. http://www.facebook.com/pg/TheWalkingDeadOrchestraOFFICIAL http://www.uniqueleader.com http://www.facebook.com/UniqueLeaderRecords http://www.twitter.com/UniqueLeaderRec http://www.youtube.com/uniqueleaderrecords Finland's Funeralglade have just released their debut EP named "May The Funeral Begin" via Inverse Records. Listen to the critically acclaimed EP on Spotify: http://spoti.fi/2v7qx23 Funeralglade is a crushingly heavy melodic metal band from Turku, Finland, consisting of five young (from 16 to 18 year old) and passionate musicians. There are lots of signs that they will have a bright future ahead. They just played as a warm up act for Ulcerate and are now plotting new gigs which will be announced at a later date. Evanescence Reveal A Reworking Of Global Hit ‘Bring Me To Life’ "Bring Me To Life (Synthesis)" https://itunes.apple.com/album/bring-me-to-life-synthesis-single/id1271225557?app=itunes Evanescence have revealed a reworking of their debut single and global hit ‘Bring Me To Life’ which is available now since yesterday. Taken from their next album Synthesis which is due in the autumn, the reworked version of the song strips out the big distorted guitars and rock drums, replacing them with full orchestration in a completely synthetic world of beats and sounds, with help from arranger and composer David Campbell. Originally "Bring Me to Life," (feat. guest vocals from Paul McCoy of 12 Stones), reached #5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 as well as marking their first U.K.#1 hit single. It was taken from Evanescence’s debut album "Fallen" which spent 43 weeks on the U.S. Billboard Top 10, sold more than 17 million copies worldwide, and was certified 7x platinum in the U.S alone. Synthesis will feature two new Evanescence songs in addition to fan favourites re-recorded with a live orchestra and electronica. Evanescence will launch the “Synthesis Live” tour in Europe later this year combining their intense live performances and timeless songwriting with a powerful live orchestra helping the band to deliver a transcendent concert experience. Listen to the track HERE. https://www.facebook.com/evanescence Japanese death metal cult Necrophile premiere the new track "Irrepressible Discharge" at web-portal NoCleanSinging.com. The track hails from the band's LONG-awaited debut album, Awakening Those Oppressed, set for international release on September 16th via Unholy Prophecies. Hear Necrophile's "Irrepressible Discharge" in its entirety exclusively HERE. Featuring current and ex-members of such cult bands as Anatomia, Multiplex, Messiah Death, Wormridden, and Transgressor, Necrophile arose from the ashes in 2012 after a two-decade-long slumber but are now prepared to unleash a torrent of deathrashing insanity with their very first full-length, Awakening Those Oppressed! Formed back in 1987, Necrophile are widely considered to be one of the first death metal bands from Japan. The band was formed in 1987 by two high school students, Takaaki Ohkuma (vocals/bass, ex-Criminal Christ and later Multiplex) and Keisuke Matsunaga (guitar/drums, ex-Messiah Death). During their original tenure, they were quite prolific. They recorded two demo tapes in 1988 and 1989 - The Terminal Derangement and Beyond the Truth, respectively - and especially the second demo received a lot of attention in the the worldwide underground scene. Then, with the lineup of Takaaki (bass/vocals), Takashi Tanaka (drumers, later Transgressor and Anatomia) and Kenichi Matsunaga (guitar, later Hellchild), they recorded the Dissociated Modernity EP and a split LP with Singapore's Abhorer, both in 1991, and also played several gigs in the USA with Sadistic Intent, Deceased, and many others; they may be the first Japanese death metal act to play the States. The original incarnation of Necrophile faded out as the members began to play in different bands, but the band reunited and played a gig in December 2012 with the lineup of Takaaki (bass/vocals), Takashi (guitar), and Keisuke (drums). After the reunion, they became active again on the live front and played many gigs in the Tokyo area. Thereafter, they appeared on the Grind Bastards #8 compilation and a split LP with Necrorite, both released in 2014. But at long last, Necrophile's debut album is upon us! Fittingly titled Awakening Those Oppressed, Necrophile's first full-length is a literal blast from the past, like the hypothetical album that could've followed that cult split LP with Abhorer. From throttling deathrash to quick 'n' concise grindcore, with plenty of filthy headbanging in between, Awakening Those Oppressed possesses the immediately ingraining charm that recalls more innocent times: death metal's earliest, fledgling years, where subgenre splintering had yet to happen, where bands could plow through a whole range of motions so long as they were dark and, above all, DEATHLY. And that's exactly what Necrophile's debut LP is - and it keeps on raging forward, each minute as explosive and exciting as the last. Across ten tracks in 34 minutes, these veterans play with the intensity and enthusiasm of bands half their age. It's not so much a "blast from the past," then, as the past never having stopped: Necrophile are eternal, and they're Awakening Those Oppressed! Awaken with the next track to be revealed, "Irrepressible Discharge," exclusively HERE, courtesy of NoCleanSinging.com. "Hysteria Siberiana," the first track to be revealed, can be heard at Unholy Prophecies' Bandcamp HERE. Spanish black/death cult Krossfyre premiere the new track "Burning Torches" at web-portal NoCleanSinging.com. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut EP, Burning Torches, set for international release on September 15th via Hells Headbangers. Hear Krossfyre's "Burning Torches" in its entirety exclusively HERE. One of the most exciting newcomers Hells Headbangers has come across lately, Krossfyre formed only last year, but set to work on writing and recording Burning Torches, completing the six-song/20-minute EP last September at Moontower Studios. Although an otherwise brand-new name, Krossfyre include among their ranks members who do or have done time in such bands as Sheidim, Spain's Graveyard, Körgull the Exterminator, Insulters, Morbid Flesh, and Suspiral. Nevertheless, the creation of Burning Torches itself bespeaks a whole new era of domination. Right from its very beginning, Burning Torches explodes with an excitement and electricity that are uniquely Krossfyre's, passion and poison mixed into one. Pounding metal, diabolic force, total power from Hell: this Spanish quintet whip forth a fury that's strangely familiar yet simultaneously refreshingly unique; it's a sound that's been brewing in cast-iron cauldrons for time eternal, but now bubbling over with a youthful joie de vivre. References to be made include classic Nifelheim and Vomitor, but also early Tribulation, later Desaster, Gospel of the Horns, Bestial Mockery, and Nocturnal Graves among others. But the sheer charisma and cantankerous esprit Krossfyre exude - not to mention infectious, gloriously METAL songwriting - puts the band squarely amongst those hallowed ranks. Early days still, to be sure, but on evidence of the forthcoming Burning Torches, the name Krossfyre will soon be upon the tongues of diehards worldwide soon enough. Take these Burning Torches and feel the fire! The next flame can be felt exclusively HERE, courtesy of NoCleanSinging.com. The first flame can be felt at Hells Headbangers' Bandcamp HERE, with the previously revealed track "Fire Solution," and also where Burning Torches can be pre-ordered. This Friday, Icelandic death metal collective Beneath will drop their blistering Ephemeris full-length via Unique Leader Records. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, At The Gates, etc.) at the acclaimed Studio Fredman in the fall of 2016, Ephemeris features new recruit Mike Heller (Malignancy, Control/Resist, Fear Factory) at the drum stool. The result is nine tracks of relentless brutality; an odyssey through the forthcoming millenniums of exponential colonization of planets and galaxies by human induced technology; a world where technology has gone way beyond the frontier of the imagination. Hear the record in full courtesy of New Noise Magazine at THIS LOCATION. Ephemeris will be released on August 18th via Unique Leader Records. Physical pre-orders are currently available at THIS LOCATION. For digital orders, visit the Unique Leader Bandcamp page HERE. On Ephemeris, Wonderbox Metal commends the band's, "condensed surgical brutality and forward-thinking intrigue." Archiac Triad champions an, "extraordinary piece of music, which shows that neither stagnation nor experimentation can really put a dent in the life span of brutal death metal, as long as the vocals are deep and growling as all hell and you keep your complex riffing straight-forward." In an 8/10 rating Dead Rhetoric notes, "Explosive, and sometimes surprisingly catchy, Ephemeris is some of Beneaths finest material to date. A slim and focused release that allows the brutality to flourish without fear of numbing the listener's senses, it's ultimately the marriage of steamrolling aggression and sly melodies that give the band their strongest weapon." Adds Last Rites of closing track "Multiangular" specifically, "It opens in a flurry of swirling rage and torment and slowly attacks that emotion with different musical approaches. Discordance, which the band finally realized is a helpful tactic, dominates the second swath alternating with diminished lead runs and then, with a bugle-like call from the lead guitar, the track descends into a blend of what they've done so well across the previous eight tracks. Drums remain intense, guitars display true melody, vocals continue to use almost laid-back rhythms and it's all seamlessly blended together to create a finish that leads directly back to where it started." Beneath was formed in 2007. The band released their first EP, Hollow Empty Void, in 2010 which landed them a record deal with Unique Leader Records. In 2012, Beneath unveiled their debut full-length, Enslaved By Fear. The album was mixed by Daniel Bergstrand (Behemoth, In Flames, Meshuggah) at Dug Out studios in Uppsala, Sweden. In 2013, the band headed to Bialystok, Poland to record their second full length, The Barren Throne, with legendary death metal producers, Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawski, known for their work with bands like Decapitated, Vader, and Behemoth. The record dropped in April of 2014 to stellar reviews with No Clean Singing crowning it, "one of the best albums of the year," hailing their special brand of, "dynamic, intricate death metal with a touch of somberness and depressive melody." Angry Metal Guy concurred, "The Barren Throne is the culmination of .... [the] anti-religion, hate, death, blood, and gore of Enslaved By Fear only this time it's dragged out across a lengthy eleven gruelling abominations," while The Sludgelord championed the record's meticulous fusion of, "black, death, and a little bit of prog, all mixed within a cauldron of dark imagery and a tale of a dark being awakening and creating a world of despair and destruction." 2017 welcomes Ephemeris. http://www.facebook.com/beneathdeathmetal http://www.uniqueleader.com http://www.facebook.com/UniqueLeaderRecords http://www.twitter.com/UniqueLeaderRec Australian black metal veterans Nocturnes Mist premiere the new track "Shadow of the Flame" at Decibel magazine's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated third album, Diabolical Baptism, set for international release on September 15th via Seance Records. Following quickly on the heels of last year's scorching second album, March to Perdition, Diabolical Baptism completes an unholy trinity of albums that forever establishes Nocturnes Mist as one of the darkest and most uncompromising antipodean forces. More savage, more immediate, and more engaging, the band goes from strength to strength here, heralding a new era for their characteristically Aussie black metal. Hear Nocturnes Mist's "Shadow of the Flame" in its entirety exclusively HERE. Nocturnes Mist's Diabolical Baptism is a work of traditional black metal inspired by the occult and Satan. After watching The Omen trilogy, the band was inspired to write a song based upon the iconic film score, "Ave Satani," and in doing so, this song influenced the tone of the album. Diabolical Baptism is a work inspired by high Satanism, both its medieval origins as well as the presence of Satan and the occult in the contemporary world: from The Omen trilogy to Ken Russel’s classic The Devils (from which a sample is used on the song "Barbs of Sadism) to the illustrations from the works of Lord of De Lancre, the infamous French witch-finder and demonologist of the 17th Century. His image of the Black Mass, the witches Sabbath in addition to horror, both fictional demonic terror and the real life terrors of the medieval age and inquisition, coupled with a fascination for clandestine ceremonies of the left-hand path - all come together with each song representing another page of Nocturnes Mist’s musical grimoire, a tale written in homage to Satan and the vivid imagery that he has inspired throughout the ages. The lavish artwork throughout Diabolical Baptism, by the hand of modern master Jenglot Hitam, is a re-imagining of Lord of De Lancre’s Black Mass and Witches Sabbath - and here, from Satanic inspiration emerges a new level of primal energy and brutality for Nocturnes Mist. Harsh compositions and raw fury have engulfed symphonic elements, with keyboards only momentarily emerging to highlight mood and atmosphere. The transition of style was not intentional; rather, it's a subconscious evolution reflecting the band’s collective energy whilst writing the album. As a result, Diabolical Baptism is a natural manifestation of evil and hatred, a return to the raw, unadulterated energy of early '90s black metal and a vehement outpouring sparked by frustration with the continued dilution of the genre. Diabolical Baptism is a rekindling of Nocturnes Mist's devotion to black metal, its roots, the feeling and conviction stemming back to the origins of the band, their influences, and the energy that originally galvanized them in the '90s. Nocturnes Mist was formed in Adelaide, South Australia in 1997 and have since remained veiled in mystery and fog. The band was ignited amidst a strong movement of bands from South Australia such as Stargazer, Cauldron Black Ram, Mournful Congregation, Darklord, and Beyond Mortal Dreams among others. However, Nocturnes Mist remained undeservedly underrated and overlooked, as black metal had yet to reach the peak of its popularity in Australia and Australian bands were hindered by isolation, great distance between states, and poor distribution in the days before the internet was widely available in households. Embodying the spirit of '90's black metal, Nocturnes Mist's music unites ferocity with darkness, cold vengeance with symphonic poetry, and chilling atmospheres with sheer heaviness. Truly borne from the '90s and the influence of first- and second-wave black metal, early on, Nocturnes Mist created symphonic black metal in the style of early Emperor, Satyricon, Abigor, and Nazxul. Denying the lightweight flourishes of what symphonic black metal evolved into by the end of the '90s, Nocturnes Mist remained firmly rooted in the traditional style and ideals of black metal, incorporating rawness, heaviness, dark atmosphere, and a true feeling of aggression characterized within the Australian scene. The Southern Storms demo EP was released in 1998 by the band and limited in availability, only being traded via mail and sold at the few shows which the band played between 1999-2000. These shows were some of the first black metal shows in South Australia and are now legendary landmarks in the evolution of OZBM. Armed with a full line up and instilled with the aesthetic ideals of traditional black metal, these shows were impressive rituals of dark, intense heaviness as the band performed in full corpse-paint, gauntlets, and created a lavish scene of gothic candelabras and candlelit atmosphere. Two self-titled demos followed in 2000 and 2004, but these were not widely circulated, and the songs were later reworked & re-recorded in 2009 to become part of what is now the As Flames Burn album, which remained unreleased until 2013. Nocturnes Mist predated most of the bands that form the current Australian black metal scene, but in a case of being ahead of their time, they slowly slipped into obscurity. Seance Records reignited the flame in 2013 with the first official release of As Flames Burn. The songs were remixed and mastered yet stylistically represent the early era of this band and their body of work to date. The CD also included the Southern Storms tracks as a bonus. Forging ahead, the band soon recorded their second full-length, March to Perdition, released in 2016 by Seance Records. The ten new songs comprising the album were characteristic of the band’s style: unpretentious and atmospheric, yet instilled with a raw, savage element to surpass what has come before. Each song was crafted with skilful writing and musicianship while not losing the energy and spontaneity that fortified the band's lofty position as forerunners of OZBM. Whereas March to Perdition solidified their style within classic, '90s-rooted symphonic black metal, on Diabolical Baptism, Nocturnes Mist strip back everything to the rawest, blood-red essentials, maintaining exemplary songwriting and their established identity whilst uncovering new, previously-unexplored territory by, paradoxically, going more primitive. Subtle synth touches still exist, of course, but Diabolical Baptism is aptly fucking titled: this is a torrential rebirth. Hear the next example of that rebirth exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine. The first example of that rebirth can be heard with "Barbs of Sadism" HERE at Seance Records' official YouTube channel. www.facebook.com/nocturnesmistAU www.seancerecords.com www.facebook.com/seancerecs www.seancerecords.bandcamp.com Mexican heavy metal warriors Battle Raider are streaming their highly anticipated sophomore album, Battle Raider, at Legacy magazine's website. Set for international release on August 21st via Fighter Records, hear Battle Raider's self-titled new album in its entirety exclusively HERE. Having released their debut album, Hard Flyer, in 2015 and obtaining a good international following, Battle Raider have been deepening their epic brand of pure heavy metal on their self-titled second album, a much more mature and defined work that was recorded during the first half of 2017. Any fan of bands like very early Queenrsyche, Cirith Ungol, Iron Maiden, early Fates Warning, Crimson Glory, and even Manowar will for sure adore this new album by Battle Raider! In the lead-up to its release next Monday, hear Battle Raider in its entirety HERE, courtesy of Legacy, Germany's defenders of the true. Greece's own rotten Death Metal savages Necrovorous are set to release Plains of Decay September 29 on Dark Descent Records. A vinyl LP version of the album is also in the works. Known for their undying adoration for everything sleazy, macabre and genuinely disturbing, the Necrovorous ghouls have risen from their crypt after years of hibernation and are staring at you with bloodshot eyes while brandishing sceptres made of human bones. The world's best attempts to keep from waken the beast have failed miserably. Proceed with cauthon, as the death metal equivalent of Jörg Buttgereit flick "Plains of Decay" is coming to melt with your brain. To avoid fainting, keep on repeating ..."It's only a record... It's only a record... It's only a record..." NECROVOROUS was created in 2005 by Vangelis F. (Shit Eater - Drums) and Periklis G. (Pig Fucker - guitars/bass/vocals). Inspired by Death Metal and Grindcore gods such as:AUTOPSY, DR.SHRINKER, IMPETIGO, HELLHAMMER, ASPHYX, (early) DEATH, MASSACRE, NECROVORE, MASTER/DEATHSTRIKE, NECROPHAGIA, the band started spreading some serious havoc and rampage with a series of three demos (later re-released as a single tape). In the beginning, the band's direction was pure gore, a sense of evolution and the stinking air of a more distinctive Death Metal approach started appearing with the recording of their side for the self-financed and sold out split 10" with MEATHOLE INFECTION (now GRAVE RITUAL). After the release of the split 10" the line-up collapsed, with only Vangelis F. remaining, a fact that lead to a short period of inactivity . In early 2009, Kostas K. (also in EMBRACE OF THORNS) joined as a guitarist/bassist/vocalist. This was a beginning of a new morbid era for NECROVOROUS. The first born, putrid offspring of that unholy intercourse was the Crypt of the Unembalmed Cadavers 7" EP. The debut full-length Funeral for the Sane (released in 2010) found NECROVOROUS more oppressive, filthy and ominous, causing some considerable stir in the worldwide underground. The band went on to perform live, culminating in a performance at Killtown Deathfest along with FUNEBRARUM, GRAVE MIASMA, SONNE ADAM among others. The following years found our adorable ghouls getting back into their coffins with little to no activity. However the split EP with the Japanese Deathmongers ANATOMIA received praise. Everything seemed hopeless and decayed but 2017 brought the resurrection... www.facebook.com/necrovorous/ www.darkdescentrecords.com darkdescentrecords.bandcamp.com www.facebook.com/DarkDescentRecords |
