The Sunrise sign their second record deal with WormHoleDeath. For the second time in two years, the Venetian band is outlining the details of the record agreement that will allow them to work with the international metal specialists again. Their sophomore album "Rising Loop" will be released on November 4th, 2022. The band stated: “If the first time was a bet, now we really want to show what we are made of”; These are the words of Tommaso, the guitarist, and spokesperson of the band, who does not spare himself in reiterating how much the Progressive / Hard-Rock band from Chioggia (VE) is determined to take place in the current Rock and Metal scene. After almost a year of hard work, punctuated by interruptions and extensions, due to the current condition we live in, Rising In Loop will finally see the light. A committed, structurally rich, and conceptual album that differs from the previous record “Brand New Disorder” both in terms of timing, arrangement, and sound; if previously the critics were divided on the lack of intelligibility of the musical identity of the band, this time the progressive matrix is unequivocal. The theme of the production recalls the style of the concept album, the core of the story is religions, the intertwining of cultures and populations of the past, present, and future created in order to give the listener a vision and a representation of the critical thinking of the band regarding the folklore and events, which have become absolute legends of the world crime news. “Rising Loop”, in fact, proposes, by tackling “historically” the development and consolidation of the mythological and religious thought of mankind, to weave a historical and legendary plot in time and space as a legacy, a warning that something has changed; "We will bring you on a journey that you will hardly forget, unlike the stories we all know, this one will not have a happy ending" The Sunrise is a Progressive / Hard-Rock band based in Venice (Italy), born in 2018, after the first phase of experimentation and publication of a self-produced EP entitled "RISE" (2019 EP) finally finds an artistic binder represented by the conscious mix of different musical genres such as Pop - Rock Progressive and Metal, thanks to which it arrives at the agreement with the US label WormHoleDeath® in conjunction with the signing of the contract and the subsequent publication of the album "Brand New Disorder" in 2020. The turning point for the band was the possibility, during the following years of making his music known to the public by participating in various competitions and achieving good placings such as the participation as Headliners at the 2021’s National Music Day in Treviso (Italy) and the participation to the semi-final phase of the Hybryd Venice Constest 2021, competition held in the beautiful scenario of Bissuola Park’s Theater in Mestre (VE). “The stage has always been a place for us to express and externalize thoughts, concepts, and music without filters, in direct line with the listeners,” says Tommaso, the group's spokesperson. The new album will be released in 2022, but preceded by the video clip of the first single extract entitled “TakeTime / WasteTime”; forget the Amarcord sweetness of the romantic songs of “Brand New Disorder”, this time the atmosphere will be very different, more gloomy and reflective, the subtle voices, the painful harmonies, and the overbearing rhythm will dominate; you will find yourself in the middle of a storm.

Look up to the sky to see the "Burning Horizon", the next music video for the third single from Italian progressive avant-garde metal MindAheaD in support of their sophomore story album "6119 Part 1" being released via Rockshots Records on October 28th. The band adds about the track: "'Burning Horizon' is direct and catchy both melodically and structurally; it focuses on the voices that intersect and duet, sometimes harmoniously, sometimes aggressively opposing each other. The instrumental part is articulate, but always keeping an eye on melody and easy assimilation. The orchestrations also play an important role, providing a backdrop to the burned horizon that will turn into a desert very soon."
MindAhead's next full-length offering "6119 Part 1" follows their 2017 debut "Reflections" released on Roman label Revalve Records. Just like its predecessor, the band's new offering is once again a concept album with a complex, personal and unusual sound to test the limits of their songwriting. "6119 Part 1" is a continuation of the previous work on "Reflections", which will tell us the story of 6119, the main character, through a surreal, oneiric journey, always poised between physical space and the realm of the mind. Trapped in this dreamlike kaleidoscope, he proceeds heedless of the consequences, hoping to find at the end of the journey (the "Part II," currently in production) the reason why all this is happening to him. Merging different aspects, sometimes opposite, of human feeling, bringing them together in a colourful and personal musical proposal, which has its roots in influences ranging from prog 70s to death metal, the band explains the new album in further detail: "This album is a concept realized with the aim of telling a story that straddles the line between dystopian science fiction and the psychological investigation of the human mind, so the music and lyrics were created in order to reach these goals. We would like the listening experience to be completely immersive. We would like the listener to be able to take a break from the real world and step into another dimension, one that is distant but at the same time well known, not alien, but almost familiar. The listener should passionately follow the events of '6119' in its inner and outer search for reality, in a story that began in the previous album 'Reflections' and will end in the band's next release, so as to complete a narrative trilogy." Having shared the stage with bands such as Jinjer, Vision Divine, Deathless Legacy, Domine, Pino Scotto, MindAhead is recommended for fans of Opeth, Ayreon, Haken, Katatonia and Pink Floyd. "6119 Part 1" is due out October 28th, 2022 via Rockshots Records.

Biography: Written by JP Pallais Following the end of Wildernessking’s career, Keenan Oakes had to continue making music, despite the difficulties of playing in a metal band in Cape Town, South Africa. Regardless, Oakes joined forces with Crow Black Sky’s Gideon Lamprecht in 2018 to create the musical entity known as Constellatia. Taken from the word ‘constellation’, Constellatia refers to the nature of existence and the natural world, the cosmos, and extracting meaning and happiness from it all. The band’s somber take on progressive black metal encapsulates inherently human subjects; a distillation of life’s meander, sadness and tribulations. Inspired by artists such as Opeth, Mastodon, The Cure, Primordial, Neurosis, Wolves in the Throne Room, Pink Floyd, Beach House, Agalloch, Emperor and Cult of Luna, Constellatia imbue their stark musical landscape with ferocity and reverie. Following the release of their debut record via Isolation Records in 2019, The Language of Limbs, Constellatia was very quick to garner the attention of listeners around the world, leading to their acknowledgement and subsequent signing to the large, independent record label, Season of Mist. While The Language of Limbs sounds bleak and tends to instil a sense of longing within the listener, it too sparks an idyllic feeling of catharsis with the mesmerizing atmospheric soundscapes and subtle intoxicating harmonies. Now with Season of Mist’s support moving forward with their second record, Constellatia have the footing and foundation to fully expand on their musical endeavours. The new album which is set to release on November the 11th 2022, shows Constellatia continuing to evolve on their already mature sound, creating these larger-than-life romantic compositions that express the emotional spectrum of simply being; an amorphous progressive metal experience enriched with lavish ambiance and ripe with spirit, unique to them alone. From the very start, the goal with Constellatia was to create emotionally dense and textured metal that is both transcendent and incredibly human. With the release of their upcoming record later this year, Constellatia will reveal just how much more dynamic and vulnerable their music has become. It may seem that the band is now hitting their stride, but they have only just begun. Plans are being made to tour the many corners of the world in support of their new album and subsequent releases. To love The wheels of this great turning Dispel the grey aura you’ve known Deepen the joy, stars aglow Follow Constellatia on Facebook, Instagram and Bandcamp. On October 26, 2022, the new and 16th studio album from Danish power-/progressive metal band Royal Hunt, called 'Dystopia. Part II', will be released in Japan and SE Asia through King Records. On October 28, 2022, the album will be released in Europe and North & South America through Northpoint Productions.

Website || Facebook || Instagram || Twitter || TikTok Australian prog metallers Ironstone release compelling new single / video, ‘Brave The Black’13/10/2022 Melbourne's progressive metal outfit Ironstone released ‘Brave The Black’, the third single from their forthcoming EP ‘The Place I Cannot Find’. The explosive track takes the listener on a ride through complex twists, turns and ever changing dynamics. Technical, syncopated rhythms and crushingly low guitars give way to an impossibly catchy chorus that soars into your consciousness with an all too familiar lament. Not being able to go to sleep. Lead vocalist, Dan Charlton, crosses effortlessly from vicious screams to heartfelt cleans, genuinely conveying the sheer frustration of insomnia. “We always try to write about relatable things and I think everybody has experienced this at some point. An ongoing battle with sleep can be devastating and really mess up your life” says Charlton. “Brave The Black is about dreading that nightly struggle in the dark and the range of emotions you feel when you can’t get to sleep, like desperation, anxiety, and worrying about how you’ll cope the next day. ” The single is accompanied by an energetic music video that really enhances the drama of the song and the message it portrays. It features the band performing as well as showing an exasperated Charlton in bed, fighting for elusive sleep. ‘Brave The Black’ is the third single from Ironstone’s new EP ‘The Place I Cannot Find’ set to be released on the 26th of October. There will be a launch show on Saturday 29th of October at the Tote Hotel in Melbourne. Greatly influenced by progressive metal giants such as Periphery, Tesseract and Twelve Foot Ninja, Ironstone craft clever, quirky songs that offset melodic choruses and atmospheric layers with heavy breakdowns and extreme vocals. The result is a juggernaut of modern metal that is sophisticated and hard hitting. Absolute Darkness is a death/thrash metal band from the San Francisco Bay Area formed in 2015. Combining the influences of bands like Cannibal Corpse, Death, and Amon Amarth, and the Bay Area thrash sounds of bands such as Testament, Vio-lence and Exodus. Finnish progressive metal band Joviac released a new single and music video 'Dissemination'. Since their latest single 'The Fine Line' the band has now expanded from trio to quintet when Johannes Leipälä (Guitar) & Tuomas Honkkila (Keyboards) were added to the line-up earlier this summer.
Viljami Wenttola's comments: "When the global pandemic began and we all became familiar with the term "lockdown", I noticed that it wasn't the disease itself that was most anxiety and fear inducing for me personally, but the amount of misinformation and disinformation surrounding the disease. Fake news was rampant. People used the disease to further their at times questionable motives and armed themselves with arguments that supported only their own nefarious or ignorant ends. Suddenly everyone felt like they knew better than everyone else and trust in their "own research" was stronger than in the scientific community. In many ways the pandemic brought out the darkest sides of humanity. I channelled all of my pandemic anxiety and fear into this song and the result is definitely the heaviest song that we've ever released. I even tried out harsh vocals/growling for the first time!" Turkish death / black metal band Serpent of Old have signed with Transcending Obscurity. I've been looking forward to their release most eagerly and this debut showcases a brilliant blend of various styles. Their music could loosely be described as Ulcerate covering The Chasm and it's clear that they're on to something special. You can listen to one of the songs from the album titled 'Ensemble Under The Dark Sun' AT THIS LINK. The band states: "We are relieved to be able to finally present to you our debut album. A lot of thought, time and effort were put into this one. It really brings out the fire in each member as it intertwines compositional elements of black metal with structures of death metal that is unique to our breed. Truly a special album for us with a lot behind. That is why we are glad to be a part of this very talented Transcending Obscurity Records roster where the spirit is made flesh and alive." Serpent of Old will be part of the prestigious upcoming 2023 Transcending Obscurity label sampler along with several new signings.
