Italian melodic death metallers Hell’s Guardian release new single and video for “Sentenced”

Italian melodic death metallers Hell's Guardian are back with a new powerful and epic single called “Sentenced”.

  • Watch the video for “Sentenced” here: https://youtu.be/nVo_DYmKPKA
  • Listen / buy the new single “Sentenced” digitally here: http://hyperurl.co/kd5484

The band comments:

“This single will not anticipate an album but in this difficult time we felt the need to release new material for ourselves and our fans. ‘Sentenced' is an ultimatum of the Earth asking for mercy from mankind and to become aware of our actions because we are destroying it. This strong theme led us to have an apocalyptic sound, tight rhythms, impactful guitar riffs, orchestral parts from typical classical instruments to oriental melodies thanks also to the choirs of Marco Pastorino, who took care of the production of the vocal lines.”

In May of this year the band entered the studio at “Media Factory” in Esine (Brescia, Italy) under the guidance of Fabrizio Romani who also mixed and mastered the single. The orchestral parts were conceived by Samuele Faulisi (Atlas Pain) while the choirs and the production of the vocal lines are the work of Marco Pastorino (Temperance, Virtual Symmetry).

The representative artwork was created by the famous Gustavo Sazes (AMARANTHE, KAMELOT, ARCH ENEMY, MACHINE HEAD). The video was made by Tiziano Spigno and Andrea Buratto Truck Me Hard.

Hell's Guardian were formed in 2009 and released a self-titled demo in 2010, a full-length album entitled “Follow Your Fate” in 2013, an EP “Ex Adversis Resurgo” in 2015 and a second album "As Above So Below" in 2018 which marked an international milestone by opening the doors to important tours with bands such as Sabaton, Amorphis, Children Of Bodom and Trivium.

Portuguese melodic death metallers Apotheus release new video for "Staring The Abyss" (first post-pandemic live show)

Portuguese melodic death metal titans Apotheus just released a new video for the track “Staring the Abyss”, taken from their latest full-length "The Far Star".

You can watch the video at this location: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGqUI_pEcVE

“Staring the Abyss” is about despair and loss, but it also paves the way for a fallback plan in which everyone puts their hopes. After such a dark terrible loss for everyone, the band has decided to bring you a glimpse of light. This video captures very well the joy and excitement of what happened at our first post-pandemic live show. It’s hard to put into words the feeling of rediscovering what truly drives them.

In essence, this is what “The Far Star” is about: a journey, with terrible losses and majestic wins, but above all, it’s about never giving up.

Saudi Arabian melodic death crew Wasted Land unveil new single in eight years “Fade Away”

2/6/2021

L-R - Wastend Land - Ahmed Khojah - Guitar, Emad Mujalid - Vocals, Ayman Al Ghamdi - Guitar

Saudi Arabia’s Wasted Land has a new single coming out entitled “Fade Away”, this is following their self-titled 2013 album. Since that full-length, the band suggests that they have evolved over time from being melody and folk focused into something heavier, but still having a strong melodic base.

“Fade Away” has been in the works since 2017, and will be the first music video from the band, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/a66F36A8FDw

Lyrically, the single talks about someone having severe depression and comparing his journey in life to that of a candle, getting shorter and shorter until it eventually burns out. Then he finds his soul’s salvation after his death. Musically, it starts with heavy doses of melody which are complimented by heavy riffs and even more melodies. To contribute to the theme of depression and life’s waning, it carries a sombre and melancholic tune near the end.

The band comments on the track:

“It’ll be a new mixture from our old folkish style with more heavy catchy riffs and chorus. We hope we can catch the attention from the old fans and attract new ones.”

For Wasted Land, they compose the music first and then create lyrics that fit. For this song in particular guitarist Ayman composed the lyrics a long time ago for his previous band Banj. Writing for the band is a joint endeavour between guitarists Ayman and Ahmed whenever they jam together. Vocalist Emad adds his flavours in the lyrics and of course the vocal lines. Wasted Land originally formed in 2005 to participate in Metal II gig in Dammam. Ahmed and Ayman were jamming together and felt there was chemistry between them while composing folky melodic death metal. From there they decided to add more members to create a full band. They were one of the first Saudi metal bands to get massive media exposure from outlets like CNN, BBC radio and other local and international newspapers.

Recommended for fans of In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, and Suidakra.

“Fade Away” is available for stream and download via Saudi Arabian based label Wall of Sound Records.

The new studio album by the metal band Synlakross has now been published.
An album called 0K4M1 and which addresses a conceptual message in which the listener also becomes the protagonist of the story, as they themselves explain. Synlakross explained the concept of the album in this way:

     “This album is completely different
from our previous albums. This time you are part of history, how? The album is a message sent by the creature 0K4M1, and you are the one who receives this message from millions of light years away. Like a message in a bottle. At the end of the listening, you must choose if you want to keep it a secret, or if you want to share it with others. And who is 0K4M1?0K4M1 is a creature created by humans from a synthetic embryo and alien DNA.Created to be a lethal weapon, the new Antichrist. Before dying, it decides to record its life experience and share it with everyone who receives this message.Because perhaps its experience can ease the listener's existential pain and suffering. It’s a sad but beautiful album, dark but full of energy. ”

Finnish modern melodic death metal band Dimman is set to release their debut album ‘Songs and Tales of Grievance’ on July 30th 2021 via Inverse Records. The band’s modern melodic death metal combines beautiful melodies, heavy compositions and technical musicality into a unique ensemble. In addition to the diverse instrumentation, Dimman’s two vocalists create a distinctive and balanced soundscape.

The band released a first single Paroxysm and music video can be seen here: https://youtu.be/lm02EnUCEps

Guitarist Jaakko Yli-Sorvari states that:-

“Paroxysm showcases all the elements Dimman is made of. Beautiful melodies, heavy riffs and technical musicianship are all married together forming a catchy soundscape. Paroxysm tells the story of human arrogance and the clouding of one’s judgement.”

The album addresses all the grievances and insecurities that cause misery to both individuals and communities. The incapability to be able to affect the injustices results in frustration, which can be heard from every song on the album. 'Songs and Tales of Grievance’ is mixed and mastered by Santeri Peltomäki (Entropy Mixing) whose powerful production supports the band’s versatile compositions.

Canadian melodic death / gothic metallers Sanguine Glacialis unveil new music video “Kraken”

1/4/2021

Montreal, QC's Sanguine Glacialis have a new music video for the track “Kraken” in support of their 2018 album “Hadopelagic”. The band experiments with a vast array of musical styles such as jazz, classical, folkloric music, and Latin music while keeping a very strong melodic death metal accent.

Today, the band is asking fans to come dance La Valse des condamnés! with the premiere of the video for “Kraken” via Bravewords HERE.

Sanguine Glacialis explains the song in their own words:

“This is the third and last single from our album “Hadopelagic”. It’s actually the first song that was written when we finished the recording of our first album “Dancing with a Hanged Man”, and because of that, you can clearly hear the influences of the first album and former line-up. It’s a song that we all liked, so we decided to keep it and adapt it to our new line-up. The lyrics talk about a man who goes to sea, knowing well that a monster awaits him, and despite the warnings of the people around him, unfortunately never comes back. The music video is centred on this story, showing a ghost ship wandering the seas, reliving the passengers’ deaths in the hands of the Kraken, forever.”

“Hadopelagic” is the second full-length album from Sanguine Glacialis, following 2012’s “Dancing With A Hanged Man” and 2016’s EP “Pitch Black Sight”. The beauty of Sanguine Glacialis is that their influences shine through prominently in their music, and each song has its own atmosphere, taking from a unique slice of the musical spectrum.

With this album, the band took a huge step forward and fans have been appreciating its mature sound much more than the previous one. According to the band, everything is better on this release and they are proud of the new direction they have taken. There has been talk of writing another album and getting back to live performances in the not too distant future.

As a surprise and special thank you to their fans, Swedish melodic death metal unit The Unguided have just released a new official music video for the dreamy crusher “Where Love Comes To Die”. With their new track, the Swedes once again prove that the well-balanced symbiosis of pop-inspired elements in combination with merciless heaviness and lyrics with depth succeeds with ease and that their songs absolutely stay in your head. In four minutes, the track takes you on a journey through a diverse sound construct and makes you scream for more!

The Unguided's Richard Sjunnesson states:

"We’ve been sitting on this video for quite some while now! Our first thought was to save it for an eventual tour but that’s not going to happen in quite some time, so we just decided to do an interactive event with the fans to “unlock” the new music video. It’s for the only ballad on the album Father Shadow and we once again got the opportunity to work with Patric Ullaeus who filmed both “Crown Prince Syndrome” & “Where Love Comes To Die” during the same day! Roger and my sister and her husband can be seen in the video as the actors."

Convince yourself and watch “Where Love Comes To Die” HERE:

Picture

Belgian melodic death metal band Fragmentum have set 16th April, 2021 as the international release date for their second full-length album "Masters Of Perplexity".

Fragmentum were founded in 2015 and became well known as a band that diverges from the rulebook. The alliance of musical creativity resulted in the adamant but sincere EP "D!verge". Working hard on new songs and reinforcing the band with new members for live shows resulted in their debut album "Pugnacity". This full album was released worldwide shortly after touring with Children Of Bodom in the US and has received rave responses and reviews from the metal industry and fans alike. Subsequently Fragmentum have shared the stage with Soulfly on their European tour and played more venues with other major bands like Annihilator.

The second full album "Masters Of Perplexity" features blasting, diverging Mayan-themed metal songs and is ready to be released upon the masses. No fillers, only killers! The recording, mixing and mastering have all been completed in their own studio Z-Underground.

A cool intriguing video clip of the "Origination Of Mankind" song will be unleashed on all social media on March 26th 2021. A tour to promote the album is planned for the beginning of next year. There is a lot more to come soon.
