Los Angeles symphonic prog metallers Anthea announce their return in 2022 with their sophomore album "Tales Untold" to be released once again via Rockshots Records this coming August to follow their 2020 debut "Illusion". For the new album, Anthea has taken the reigns for a more DIY approach with vocalist Diego Valadez taking over also as the full-length's producer along with bassist Eric “EJ” Guerrero in charge of music videos and photography. Diego Valadez comments:- “We released our debut album in 2020, but were, unfortunately, like everyone else, unable to tour or play live gigs. However, this gave us a lot of extra time to really craft this follow-up album into something special. Tales Untold was written and recorded throughout 2021 and I am so proud of the end result.” Fans of Anthea's first album "Illusion" will enjoy this one even more. The difference with this next record is that Anthea has a more mature sound and has carefully thought out the ebb and flow throughout it. Their end goal is to give a very dynamic and cinematic album in which the listener feels as though they’ve gone through a grand musical journey once they’ve reached the end. "We also wanted to create a sense of escapism while keeping one fit in the real world lyrically." Today in preview of the album, the band is sharing with fans a new music video for its title track. The opening song is about how art inspires new generations of art forms whether it be novels, music, movies, poetry, etc. I just find the interconnectivity of it all fascinating. This song itself wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the music that we were influenced by, and their music wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for what they were listening to, and so on and so on.“ says Valadez. All music and lyrics by Diego Valadez except on “Looking Glass” and “Empyrean” music by Marco Mejia, lyrics and orchestration by Diego Valadez. Music and lyrics for the cover song “In Time” originally written and performed by Robbi Rob.

The single is also available on all the usual digital platforms. Truent will self-release their full-length debut album, Through The Vale of Earthly Torment, on June 17. Pre-order below. The band previously released the official video for album track "The Last Hunt," which is available at: youtu.be/i9slBGYesLc Born in a small town outside of Vancouver, BC, Truent is an exhilarating Canadian metal act on the rise. Combining massive riffs, head-spinning technicality, and sharp song writing, Truent has crafted a crushing brand of groove-laden progressive death metal that is uniquely their own. Album Credits:
The band has released the following statement concerning the forthcoming new album: "Written and recorded while the world was being ravaged by the pandemic, Through the Vale of Earthly Torment was an exercise in escapism for us from the grim realities of life in turbulent times. While not a concept album in the traditional sense, we turned to themes of mythology and lore, exploring how people from all corners of the globe across all time periods have used myths to create vivid descriptions of their values. Each song centres itself around a creature or deity, and each of these entities are made to represent one of the seven deadly vices, giving the album a consistent through-line to follow. Musically, we expanded our sound with influences from all across the heavy music spectrum in order to create the most dynamic record we could. The songs weave together pummelling and technical riffs, triumphant choruses, and a number of oddball moments that hit seemingly from nowhere. There’s a wide mix of subgenres and sounds we explore throughout the album, often within the same song. We incorporate elements of everything from tech death to thrash metal to metallic hardcore into the records core sound of groove-filled progressive death metal. We do not want to be an easy band to categorize, and we feel this record is our most diverse work to date." Truent has spent the last few years cultivating a strong following throughout Western Canada. With two EPs, multiple tours of the region, and shows supporting the likes of Archspire and Voivod, the band earned themselves a spot on AltPress’ list of “50 rising Canadian bands to keep on your radar." With these experiences under their belt, Truent entered the studio in the spring of 2021 with producer Tim Creviston (Spiritbox, Angelmaker, Misery Signals) to record their debut full-length album, Through the Vale of Earthly Torment, to be released June 17, 2022 Solidity have released their second album, “Evolution of Prodigality”, which features complex and melodic riffs, but modern, progressive parts and electronic elements play a much bigger role than ever before. These ingredients actually play a very well thought role in the music due to the album’s semi-conceptual nature. On top of that, lead singer Attila also combines his melodic voice with deep growls, giving a unique listening experience to all lovers of the genre. The album contains 8 new songs and 3 bonus tracks. Strongly recommended to the fans of Opeth, Scar Symmetry, Nevermore, and Sybreed!
Lead singer Attila Kovács commented: “Our first single, “Fake Sunrise” is memorable, easy to take in, and at the same time eclectic enough to introduce the listener to most of the elements you can hear on the album. The intro is followed by cynical lyrics, and melodies to enhance this message; then we immediately guide the listener into heavier, darker territories for a few seconds to which only the arc of the chorus brings some solace. Then the roller coaster starts again with no chance to drop out!” Guitarist, songwriter, lyricist László Triesz commented: “The song is about religious fanaticism, and of those who are completely blinded by their faith, as it slowly takes over their lives.” 1. For Fans Of: Invent, Animate; Make Them Suffer; Spiritbox Finnish melodic metal crew Numento unveil new single 'Hadal Ground'; new album drops later this year3/3/2022 Helsinki based progressive melodic metal band with extreme metal Influences Numento is releasing their second album later this year. The first single from the upcoming album is now released! "Hadal Ground" is inspired by the Greek god of the underworld. The song is about a dark parallel reality, a crooked version of our world, that is ruled by the empress of the dead accompanied by nightmarish creatures that prey on human minds. The origin of Numento dates back to 2004. That year a few schoolmates from eastern Helsinki decided to start playing instruments. And of course before anyone had learned a single chord it felt mandatory to also form a band. A metal band. During the following years the band changed its name a couple times. It wasn’t until late 2010 when the band decided to change its name for the last time. The name Numento was chosen after a long night. The line-up has had few changes after that, but it was that time that the band started to find it's own sound that you can still recognize in their music. Listen to "Hadal Ground":

https://www.facebook.com/numentofin https://numento.bandcamp.com/ Melbourne progressive metal outfit Ironstone release ‘Shiny Things’, their first single for 2022. "Shiny Things" pushes and pulls between heavy, low tuned percussive guitars and a groovy vibe, all the while slamming down riffs, hooks, and melody galore. Exploring a somewhat quirky feel the band has managed to inject fun into an otherwise heavy, hard-hitting track. With a mix of clean and extreme vocals, catchy choruses and crushing breakdowns, "Shiny Things" takes the listener on quite a ride. There’s also a clear message in the lyrics about the downside of being too focused on material things and forgetting what’s really important. "Shiny Things" is accompanied by a very entertaining video, where the band really allows their personality to shine through. The video tells the story of a lonely guy who’s trying to fill the void in his life by purchasing ‘stuff’ from TV infomercials. In a strange twist and ‘groundhog day’ style of repetition, he eventually discovers the thing he REALLY needs. The band says… “We had a lot of fun writing Shiny Things and an absolute blast making the video. We’re bombarded on a daily basis with advertising and a glossed over version of reality, and it’s all too easy to become drawn in. We saw an opportunity to poke a bit of fun while still demonstrating that the things we desire don’t always bring happiness, and a shiny exterior doesn’t always mean quality within.” "Shiny Things" was mixed by Chris Themelco of Monolith Studios and mastered by Acle Kahney of Tesseract. It comes as a follow up to Ironstone’s late November release, ‘Mr. Struggle. Ironstone is having a launch show for ‘Shiny Things’ on Thursday 3rd of March at Stay Gold in Melbourne. Joining them on the night are Suspyria and Nth Rd. Tickets are available through Eventbrite here: https://bit.ly/3sFQYeO IRONSTONE are:
